@@SpiralSlopes it’s not rare for people to stop working on their voices. The voice is a muscle, and just like if you stop exercising your body, you can lose that muscle. A lot of singers don’t exercise the voice and end up not sounding that same, that’s why I said this
“You have so many relationships in this life; Only one or two will last. You go through all the pain and strife, Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast. Oh, so hold on the ones who really care, In the end they'll be the only ones there. And when you get old and start losing your hair; Can you tell me who will still care.. Can you tell me who will still care?” Still amazes me every time I hear Mmmbop that the Hanson brothers wrote such deep lyrics at 16, 13 & 11

Being a fan waaaay back...these lyrics hit different in your 40s. This version is more soulful...It was real when I was 15 and it's more REAL now. Thank you!!!
I had THE biggest crush on Zach when I was younger! My sister liked Taylor, and my cousin liked Isaac. We had the CDs, cassettes, even concerts on VHS. Glad to see they are still so talented and grew up really nice ❤️
This is a testament to how “powerful” social influence can be. We all know we “hated them” in the 90s if you didn’t you weren’t “cool” media/social media/ influencers do this 24/7 everything we see/hear is something being pushed on us. Don’t forget sometimes to just take a step back and see the true beauty of life! This song for our generation was 25 years ahead of its time!
From many of the ignorant comments here, apparently the real "secret no one knows" is that Hanson has continued making consistently good music and giving great live performances during the past 20 years. To find out what most of you have been missing, check out the Hanson studio albums "This Time Around," "Underneath," "The Walk" and "Shout It Out."

I heard the title song of This Time Around when it was first out, and I thought, “OMG, they sound like Three Dog Night!” I wish Hanson would cover a 3DN song like Pieces of April or Out In The Country.
Holy crap...hell yeah it's GOOD! There are just certain songs through their energy and delivery that transcend pop, rock, punk, metal, screamo and whatever. You don't even have to like this genre, but give these guys there due for knocking this song clear out of the park. Go back and watch this song played when they were kids....nothing is lost now, like a fine wine.

PrincessKLS So true. I think the song has more meaning now that they ( and their original fans) are grown with families and kids. Hold on to the people and moments that matter because in an mmmbop, they are gone:(
Say what you want but these brothers are pure talent. You won’t find a better harmony than with siblings. Not one note out of tune and you can’t argue this kind of Talent. Sounds perfect from start to finish..
@@ljuben5738I think the point of saying "say what you want" is due to the fact that most people who genuinely enjoyed them when they were popular were often made fun of. Now that we are all adults, people are finally talking about how talented they are and how of course they are why would anyone say otherwise?? You just weren't there. Same thing with James Blunt, who is scarily talented yet I remember countless times and people who bullied others or the singer himself. 2020 vision is easy to say "no one is disagreeing". But yeah actually, humans suck lol.
I just love this!! Sibling harmonies are the tightest harmonies! Any time my brother and I sing together, the harmonies just "happen", even if we haven't sung together in years.
I never understood this song when I was a kid and thought it was nonsense, though it has a catchy beat. But 24 years later when life hit and I lost family members and people I love, this songs hits so damn hard and actually got me emotional. Whoever you are, always appreciate the people you have. Tell your loved ones you love them. One day you'll wake up and they won't be there anymore.
This makes me miss my sister so much she thought Isaac was so cute. June 20th it'll be 12 years since we lost her to colon cancer at 45, she was the best big sister ever. Now I'm 49 4 years older than she was when she left us and hearing this song breaks my heart in the best ways
I am so proud that they didn't turn into washed out teen stars!! Looks like they stayed healthy and level headed through all the money and fame. Good to see :)
I vehemently hated this song. It was everywhere upon release and you couldn't escape it. But I stumbled on this video and it is an absolutely incredible performance!!! Acoustic is the true measure of talent and they killed iti!!! Harmonies were spot on....my wife will NEVER let me live this down......
These guys always had amazing talent and the song was always decent (this version is greatness), we were all just too cool for school back then, listening to some messed up heroin addict assholes with half the talent whine about their self inflicted problems. Too edgy and underground to give anything "mainstream" a fair shake, or too tough, listening to some wannabee criminal thug rap about being a degenerate p.o.s.
No lie, these guys can sing GREAT ! MUCH better than anything on the radio now ! I was in the 6th grade when this came out. Now im 31. Damn how time flies.
In an interview they explained exacally what MMBOP means. When they were young at the time of this song, they had to make decisions. To hang out with friends or to pursue music and sacrafice thier temporary friendships. They looked at the bigger picture and SACRAFICED frienship and hanging out for music, careeer, and sucesss. Hence MMBOP = things that fade as childhood frienships do. The song is about SACRAFICING whats not so important for whats more important. MMMMBOP= things that fade away and that dont last, hence the line in the song---- who well be there when mmbops gone.

I prefer the innocence of the original--- the one I grew up with, but this one sounds amazing too :)
unbelievable sound from these guys and this is coming from someone who absolutely hated hanson as a teenager. Now im 33 and im singing along, my toddler is dancing to it and fiance thinks ive gone crazy.
I saw just a one minute clip of this on my news feed so I had to come find the full version. Thank you so much for uploading this. So many memories!!
me too! 😀
Me too!
Me too!! Does anyone know where I can buy this version ???
Being a fan waaaay back...these lyrics hit different in your 40s. This version is more soulful...It was real when I was 15 and it's more REAL now. Thank you!!!
I feel old.

Iconic
This is absolutely incredible. Could bring a grown man to tears.
Can't say i'm a massive fan of Hanson, but I saw a clip for this on a friends Facebook feed and have to say, it's an awesome performance!
Anytime this song comes on I feel like I'm a kid again just listening to it on the radio. This song never gets old! ❤
Talented brothers - love the tight harmonies that sharing a gene pool can create!
Peter McD yes this!!
Makes me wish me and my 3 sisters had practiced a little harder in high school choir 😝
These guys prove that their talent was more then a famous pop song, pure talent pure musicians. Pleasure to listen to.
Man been following TheHansons for years prob 20years since the start. So talented, and underrated.. theses guys are what talent is..
They do those harmonies in PERFECT PITCH... Amazing.
Those harmonies are absolutely amazing.
This is their best live version without a doubt.
Every lil bro with an older sister that grew up in the 90s knows this song by heart.
Kinda unbelievable that they wrote this when they were children. They're insanely talented
And "Anthem"! :)
Daniel Ponce And many more -- I hope i was in Jamaica this year with them on their Back to the Island 2017 tour -- im gonna wait and really save for my VIP ticket to see them live in 2018 - Like their page guys Hanson on Facebook / Twitter
Daniel Ponce yes yes yes!!! Own every album and see them every year they come to Chicago!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼💕💕💕
Daniel Ponce noone likes a know it all
I heard the title song of This Time Around when it was first out, and I thought, “OMG, they sound like Three Dog Night!” I wish Hanson would cover a 3DN song like Pieces of April or Out In The Country.
When they first came out my friends and I all said "She's hot!" Then we found out they were all brothers. We never spoke of it again.
Jason Jaeger 🤣
😂
Jason Jaeger HAAA
Just say no homo, works every time
🤣🤣🤣
I saw them twice on stage in Montreal and I had the time of my life. Keep rocking guys!
This is the proof that this song is actually a very good pop song and that these guys CAN sing! Despite all the critics back then...
The lyrics are great too..."you only get so many relationships in life...only one or two will last..."
Holy crap...hell yeah it's GOOD! There are just certain songs through their energy and delivery that transcend pop, rock, punk, metal, screamo and whatever. You don't even have to like this genre, but give these guys there due for knocking this song clear out of the park. Go back and watch this song played when they were kids....nothing is lost now, like a fine wine.
kevin fetner Yes!!
Like a fine wine gets better with age
Haha exactly what I said on another link for this! Sooo true 🍷
My thoughts exactly.
Melissa Coad well said! :)
Melissa Coad Guys let 's watch their vids everyday before March 14 -- Taylor's bday --All their vids and live Performances -- I love them soo much and it hurts to not see them live here bec, i was in Spain... Thumbs up .....
Help me out guys --- Thumbs up let's mmboppin this together - flood , share
PrincessKLS So true. I think the song has more meaning now that they ( and their original fans) are grown with families and kids. Hold on to the people and moments that matter because in an mmmbop, they are gone:(
Amazingly, my generation were all bopping and dancing to their song. Now we grew older, we live by Hansons' wise words within "Mmmbop!"
I'm not a teenage girl, but lord have mercy, I love these harmonies. Those boys have the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.
They're in their 30s, now, so.... :) I agree, they are awesome!
Fifi Aames I'm jjj
Fifi Aames jjjj
I miss the ‘90’s, especially when roller blading to this song was cool.
I did the same to thing song!! 😂
This song aged well!!! Why do I have chills???
I have no idea lol - it will never be that serious to be having chills
Regular cracked pepper probably gives the same effect lol
I just watched this right after the original music video. I have never been so pleasantly surprised in my life!!!
Say what you want but these brothers are pure talent. You won’t find a better harmony than with siblings. Not one note out of tune and you can’t argue this kind of Talent. Sounds perfect from start to finish..
I don't think too many will disagree w that.
You're saying "say what you want" as if everyone else claims otherwise and as if you aren't stating the obvious lol
Bee Gees
The Corrs
❤
Wow! This is what you call “exceeding expectations”! These guys are real musicians. I would love to write a song for them
Generally "real musicians" write their own songs
@@GinEric84 you don't have to write your own songs to be a musician
@@XD-it3ig yeah you do. If you can't make music you're not a musician, you're a performer.
@@GinEric84 making music isn't the same as writing music. If you can play an instrument well and sing, then you are a musician.
@@GinEric84 By your logic, every member in a band that didn't write a song is just and entertainer. Same with pianists that play off of sheet music then.
They were so young when this song came out that twenty years later they are still young.
They sound incredible. A song that was #1 in 25+ countries all at the same time? Wrote their own music, lyrics, and played their own instruments? WOW.
I was 9 years old when this came out!!!!!!!!! Mannnnnnnnnnnnnn time has flownnnnnn by! Brings back so many beautiful childhood memories.
I'll admit I liked the original as a kid but holy hell, this was incredible.
robo931 "holy hell" huh its holy heaven btw! You need jesus!!
@@gracechristian6066 hahahaha that's hilarious
@@gracechristian6066 No! He needs Odin, our true God!
@@gracechristian6066 not everyone believes in him lol
Thanks for giving us this version, Hanson. I love that this song has a heartfelt meaning now that you've lived a few years. This song was meant to be to be sung this way. I can't wait to hear your version of this song 20 years from now.
Have you heard the original version (before they got signed and made the Middle of Nowhere album) or the version from String Theory? It was not originally supposed to be such an upbeat song.
The harmonies are insane.. It's clear they have been singing together their entire lives.
