Agree with your sentiments about how to use lights.
Try LED back up lights. I use them on my Tacoma, big improvement.

Thanks for sharing. I’m installing some Spyder Angel Eye projector headlights and I have to install this switch along with the fog light harness. Hopefully the harness is just as simple.

Oh nice. I didn’t know spyder made light for vw. I bought some for my Tacoma. Also update, the switch does not eliminate the day time running lights like I thought. They still come on automatically when you turn on the car. As far as the harness I haven’t done that yet but should be simple. The hardest part will probably running the wire to your switch. Not sure if it goes through the fire wall.

You can delete day time running lights is the Tfl on the back next to the Fog lights where are going to be connected to.

Thanks Oscar. Yeah actually I messed up in this video because my light still stay on but I had the hand brake on so I got fooled. I don’t understand the instructions you said.

@@SanDiego_VDubLife remove the Headlights switch, look in the back of the Headlight switch the sensor module should have a TFL, you bend it so its no longer making connection, il send you a link to a video that helped me out. It totally works "no hand break needed"
You can actually do it on the new headlight switch you just bought so it won't go to waste.

@@mk41.8t3 no need to bend anything.
It may take a try or 2 so it doesn't bite thru, but a sliver of electrical tape on the pin can do the same thing.

PS: try the meguars headlight restoration kit. Makes them look new again....$30+- well spent. takes about an hour.

Thanks Freebuilder. Yeah. I’ve done it twice. But it never stays clear. Even with the meguirs wax. I need a better sealer or something. Any tips for keeping them clear?

Well....I'm only about 8 months into it so far, and so far, so good.
Direct unrelenting sunlight and UV light is what burns them up and fogs them to begin with. Same with clear coat on paint and varnish on wood. UV is the enemy.
Recommendations? Park facing north. Find shade. And next time you do the process go to the finest sandpaper Grit available. The Meguiars opened my eyes to what could be done. Never polished plastic before. Then I found fine sandpaper for my random orbital sanders and went to town. And in autobody, that gets crazy fine. 10,000 grit.....lol

@@freebuilder007 oh wow. Ok. Good advise. Yes uv is the enemy. I live in SoCal so it’s bad here. Global warming is killing my lights. Uggg. I probably need to go with a finer grit too. Will give it another shot soon.

There's a pin in the connector for the American that you can bend down to turn the day time running lights off, free fix
