I had a Vue Redline. It was a great vehicle, sounded good, pretty quick (mine was about 6.8 to 60), spacious inside and was a total beast reliability wise. It also handled pretty damn well. Great college car, that lasted me well into the beginning of my career. The only real downside was they had very limited aftermarket support. It's a shame there's not more affordable, sporty vehicles like this anymore. Trackhawks are great and all, but these were like half the price of those adjusted for inflation. And none of these sold for MSRP because that's not how the world worked back then. Equinox Sport was always a cool ride, pretty quick, decent tuning, looked nice. They also made it into a 2nd Gen Vue Redline that had a downright nice interior. FX45 was cool, but too expensive in its day. The VQ35 had a ton of aftermarket support and so many of them were much faster. They also were just a little too close price wise to the big boys from Germany.
My mom bought an 08 Torrent GXP new. For the time it was such a unique package in the segment! Was definitely one of Pontiacs best! My aunt still owns her 06’ Torrent has 110k miles.

I feel like the V6 3rd gen Rav4 is also pretty forgotten, like some blokes in their mid trim E46's got ran by one from a dig and where surprised to see it packed a 3.5 V6 under the hood
It doesn’t matter which trim you have as long as your equinox was all-wheel-drive It was extremely planted and gave you crazy confidence around corners even in the worst conditions.
I always thought the Dodge Nitro looked cool because it was one of the first mainstream SUV’s back then to have factory 20” wheels - That was a big thing in the 2000’s especially to my teenaged eyes 😂🤷🏻♂️
What’s funny is that the Honda Element is probably the most valuable on this list. People are paying crazy money for them, and they do last a long time. I agree with the Subaru Baja. I’d love to have one just as a fun car. Theyre so quirky and the yellow is the best. The red Volvo XC90 with the V8 was always one of my favorites. That first generation went on SO long. I remember in 2011 or 2012 sitting in one and thinking it felt old… because it was. It went on for at least 12 years. It was pretty solid though and Volvo seats are SO comfortable.
I have driven most of the cars on this list doing buy here pay here. I don’t want to oversell it because of reliability issues, but I really liked the Cadillac SRX with the north star V8. They will whip doughnuts pretty nicely, and sound pretty good with an exhaust, but the nice interior is what makes them pretty cool for the money.
hey awesome video man caught my eye im a huge saturn fan i had a 98 coupe with a 5 speed i loved it wrecked it cried for a few days. then i found a 2007 saturn vue HYBIRD model and yes its a real hybrid it is was the "green line hybrid model" look it up. im 19 i enjoyed your video. i do want a vue redline and have been trying to find a clean one
I've only ever seen ONE of those. The later vue had a hybrid option but it was not the same Vue platform. I've only seen one of those as well, and I worked at a GM dealer that lost Pontiac and Saturn when they closed them down, so circa 2010 ish, we still did a small amount of warrant work on that later Vue. The car and customer were both a pain in my butt.
If we are talking new or in great shape, it'd be a tie for the xtreme/Zr2. But where i live in the midwest. The Zr2's are imfamous for the frame cracking in the front because they are actually different than the normal s10. So I'd go with the xtreme
Funny thing is I wasn't too thrilled by any of the designs, colors, trims available in these years but looking back compared to what we have now id take nearly any of them except the nitro. Element was cool, fx45 cool, and even that aztek looks nice and bold in retrospect
I have a 2008 Subaru Outback XT. Turn off traction control, put it in Sport Sharp (S#) mode, and it competes with any “fast” car. Just a WRX with a little extra trunk.
There are a few of these 2004 forester turbos available as imports from Japan sitting at a dealership in British Columbia for cheap. In Canada the SC Element was awd. And there was an Infiniti FX50 with a 5.0 V8
the equinox sport is still floating around pretty often, most of them have been turned into cigarette cars at this point. I had a base trim equinox, went to 170k miles before the head gasket blew and I warped the head. Probably would still be on the road if I pulled over instead of trying to make it to a gas station for water.
Not only Subaru made the Forester XT to be quick for the US market, in the Japanese market, they made an STI version of that generation that has most of the running components that you will see from the Impreza WRX STi. Although the engine may not be borrowed from the Impreza, it still produces 261 hp from its 2.5 L turbocharged flat-4 engine and the cosmetic changes really looked like it is an SUV version of the Impreza WRX STI.
I miss when companies added performance trims for their SUVs and pickup trucks. I drive a Tacoma X-runner and it definitely gets some attention for it’s uniqueness
You should take a look at the 1st Generation (E83) BMW X3s. I own a 2005 3.0i and while not being marketed as sporty SUVs they definitely drive like one. The 2004-2006 3.0i has the M54B30 that makes 225-228 horsepower depending on the packages, however the 2007+ 3.0si makes 260 horsepower out of the newe N52B30. Fun vehicles, they're basically just lifted BMW 3 series sedans
Wow, that explains why I still see the Saturn vue on the road today . Honda motor and transmission has stayed alive. My sisters old Pontiac is totally extinct ,similar year.
I once had a used 2008 Forester LL Bean Edition. One thing I didn't like about the driving experience was it had very sensitive steering at highway speeds, causing the slightest movements of the steering wheel to move the vehicle too easily.
Man I work for a towing company and I had to boost a car in an underground parking area for a apartment building and beside the car I had to boost was a red Saturn vue redline, looked mint was pretty dusty and tires where all flat but I was still amazed and I wanted it so bad. when I enquired my customer had no clue who owned it unfortunately.
I can assure you that the forester XT and the Baja turbo are NOT forgotten ! Just look at the average asking price for one ! You missed some big ones like Saab 97x aero (a fancy trail blazer ss), WJ Grand cherokees with the 4.7 H.O V8, the VW Tiguan with the V8 was virtually a Porsche cayenne.
Supercharged Xterras were cool. Nissan offered then as the old VG V6 was getting outclassed HP wise then, and the 4 liter VQ didnt start untill 05. Biggest issue with Supercharged Xterras was they required premium.

The fx45 also became the fx50 later on and had a 5 liter v8 with close to 400 horsepower.
ZR2 came in extended cab as well. And I would choose that over an xtreme
Fantastic video thank you
I appreciate it!
I live in the Florida panhandle and for some reason ive seen 6 saturn vues in 1 week
Great video man! Love the REAL commentary and not AI Generated BS
I need a Xterra
In highschool a guy had one and I thought it was the coolest thing then. A small SUV with a supercharger I can go off-road in!
Blazer extreme such good looks
6:24 6.9 seconds is not bad at all for the weight of that suv AND for the time. This car was really ahead of its time when you think about it.
True, but I personally just can’t get over the looks🤝
You didn't mention the saleen and roush explorer; I do love my VK45DE
Adding that for part 2!
@@GreenHawkDrive 🙌🎉 woohoo 😍
Keep 'em coming
For sure🤝

I still drive my 2006 Pontiac Torrent as my daily driver to and from work. The odometer just turned into the 125K miles!
Not sure of it would be considered a “performance” SUV but the 2004 GMC Envoy XUV with the optioned V8 was pretty cool
The Aztek & Nitro were the WORST!!!!!!! My friend still has his Subaru wagon and he lowered it and it hauls ass!!!! Great Video 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you man🤝
bruh who can forget the typhoon?! 👀🔥
i had a blazer zr2 back in the day and those things were great. It's on contest imo maybe if the extreme blazer got a v8.
I don't believe the Xtreme s10 or Blazers were available with 4x4. So I'd take the zr2.
You are correct! The extreme series were 2wd only!
The ZR2 would be the more logical choice unless you lived somewhere that didn't snow!
2005 Acura MDX touring... (AWD, 3.5 j series 275hp) Basically a type -s suv considering the tl type s at the time only had 260hp
Wow, that explains why I still see the Saturn vue on the road today . Honda motor and transmission has stayed alive. My sisters old Pontiac is totally extinct ,similar year.
Good list
The Saturn cue actually did come with a 5 speed manual
I once had a used 2008 Forester LL Bean Edition. One thing I didn't like about the driving experience was it had very sensitive steering at highway speeds, causing the slightest movements of the steering wheel to move the vehicle too easily.
Man I work for a towing company and I had to boost a car in an underground parking area for a apartment building and beside the car I had to boost was a red Saturn vue redline, looked mint was pretty dusty and tires where all flat but I was still amazed and I wanted it so bad. when I enquired my customer had no clue who owned it unfortunately.
The j series also cam in the accord coupe manual and this car is very cool
Nissan krom line needs to make a future episode, super unknown and super cool
Had to look that one up, definitely will be included in part 2. Thanks!
Do a video on forgotten 90s roadsters plz!!!
Nice video, but you forgot abot Saab 9⁷X Aero
Good catch! 👍
I f'ing love the turtle!
We're so back
What a banger!
Thank you! Love the profile picture man🤝
@GreenHawkDrive thanks i started my channel last year i do automotive as well!
Forgot the Pacifica n MB R class amg they rare as hell , Isuzu Xiom , murano drop top , evoque drop top
Supercharged Xterras were cool. Nissan offered then as the old VG V6 was getting outclassed HP wise then, and the 4 liter VQ didnt start untill 05. Biggest issue with Supercharged Xterras was they required premium.
I did not know that, interesting
The XTs were never forgotten in Idaho
Happy new year!
Happy New Year to you too!
