I’m tired of being shy, wondering what others think, constantly stuttering, not making eye contact. I am able to overcome my shyness, and I will start today.
Shyness is related to our fears of the results. If we want to overcome shyness that means we have to overcome our fears. I believe that everything is in our mindset. If we manage to change our mindset we will be able to overcome shyness and fears.
OMG! I thought I was the only one who skipped class to avoid giving a presentation due to shyness. Thank you so much for sharing this I now feel less alone
Fitness helped me get over mine, I took up a sport which made me feel better myself physically and mentally, then I started getting compliments from everyone which build my confidence, it worked for me and if you follow your passion I expect it will work for you
I'm 19 and I've put off this fear for my whole life and it's really affected me. This video really described me haha but it's time to change it! Wish me luck!!
I honestly thought i was the only one who felt that way in high school, i'm still in high school but that's how i've been all my life and i'm trying to get over this
if your reading this, all I have to say is that i feel blessed to have come across this video!!!! my anxiety is so bad that i have trouble with holding conversation and engaging in eye contact. This video really opened my eyes and got me excited to finally make a big change in my life. thank you Stephen.
My 13 year old son is extremely shy and definitely battles with social anxiety (can’t even order himself food without shutting down and getting triggered into a hostel mood because of it). People always thinks he madd in general or madd towards them because of his lack to be able to emotionally be open. By watching this content I can say my son has all these symptoms and defense mechanisms and it makes me feel very hopeful that there is guidance to help me help him ! Thank you so much.
Who ever bullied you must feel pretty terrible about themselves because look at you now, an attractive man who has not only improved his life but has gone out of his way to improve others lives too. I have really bad social anxiety and cannot thank you enough for this video. God bless you❤
Man, I'm almost 26 and struggled with this. I wish i forced myself into situations like you did. All i do is sit in my room and game on my days off. I wanna become a better person and connect with others.
Wow, I had/have the same thing verbatim. Grew up with the exact same issues. I even dropped out of college because of required presentations... Great video...
Great video! I have social anxiety. I can't even walk up to female receptionists. Random people on the street. My goal for this year to get rid of social anxiety. It'll be tough, but I'm gonna do it!!!! Thanks Stephan.
I'm only 1 minute into this video and I can relate so much. I'm definitely gonna watch this whole video and hopefully it'll help me overcome that (especially since I'm 19 now.)
I never thought someone else experienced social anxiety as bad as me. This is my first comment ever on youtube btw. I have a lot of social conditioning ahead of me and I trust it'll be worth it. Thanks for the valuable insight man!!!
Not too far in. This video has already helped me feel relief after overthinking about a conversation I had earlier today. The overthinking was so draining, I wanted to take a nap. Even that was made difficult & woke up still overthinking.
Kelly Grumley we will get through it .. just work on speech class and do what he said just compliment people or ask them how their day is going somewhere like at home depot or the market.. stick with it and yull get more confidence.. not everybody is negative im learning.. ive been working on it lately
Wow, thank you so much for this video. My whole life I've been shy, and had anxiety, so I don't really talk to people. I have been homeschooled my entire life, and the thought of going to school has always frightened me, so I have never gone. But after what you said, I think I might face my fear, and go. I'm tired of never having any friends, and being afraid. To post this comment is even scaring me, but I wanted to say thank you.
PLEASE do more of these. I'm 20 and I have been facing social anxiety since middle school. I've come a long way since then, but I still have more social anxiety and shyness than the average person. I don't want to waste any more years being a recluse. I'm going to take your advice and start going out and put myself in these situations. Thank you Stefan.
Great video. It's been my struggles aswell. I realize that being an introvert, I always wanna be the best at everything I do because i care so much about what other people think.
This is the first video that actually helped, and didn't just say things like "believe in yourself". It's a long and painful process, there was no sugarcoating it, and no false beliefs or expectations were created.
+Project Life Mastery Yeah, maybe. xd! And thanks alot for this video, it have really made me feel better after watching it. And i'm surely going to try the steps you've mentioned. Thanks again! ^_^
This video inspired me a lot. I'm only 15, but I've had social anxiety for almost four years now. I had missed so much of school social life. I want to change. I still have time, it's not too late. It's going to be hard, but I've already made some steps. If you're reading this, good luck, I believe in you, you can overcome this state.
This was actually very helpful. I have to admit I didn’t think i was gonna learn anything but I was hooked on the very first thing you said. My shyness is not my identity!! I have always been shy for as long as I’ve known, then transferred before entering high school. I loved high school and did really well with my social skills. I talked to everyone and anyone. Now I am 22, a senior in college and I am at the worst part of social anxiety yet. In the beginning of the year, I was always excited to present and to talk in front of the class. But now I dread it each time, get hot and shaky and then when I actually present, I start with a shortness in breath and keep it until I’m finished. I struggle immediately, as I give one or two word responses when I meet someone new. I struggle keeping eye contact and keeping the conversation. I for some reason always think the worst and think everyone is out to get me or doesn’t like me already. On top of that, I am also told I have a resting b face and in all seriousness, I do not mean to nor want to give off that thought. Thank you for this video, as I can relate and learn so much from it.
You've really inspired me! I'm deleting my video games, I'm signing up for toastmasters, and I'm going to head back to my group ski lessons that I've been avoiding due to fear for the past year. Thank you so much!
My problem is I will talk and take control if I know I am cooler/better higher up the leaderboards But when it comes to new people or cooler people then I am so quiet for example I could be playing football with the hardest kid in the year but if he is trash then I would call for the ball shout etc but if I'm sat next to him I wouldn't say a word so annoying

Nice video. I thought I was going crazy at first, then learned that it was anxiety. Having a panic attack in a social situation is VERY unpleasant! It's cool to listen to other people who have anxiety and get some advice!
Have been shy to an extent that even commenting on a youtube video hasitates me... But thats it, I have to be comfortable with my discomfort... So here it is.. my first comment
This video really helped me realize that I was in a state and that how i am right now is not who I am. It made me realize how social and anxiety free I was when I was younger. Thank you so much for this video , i am definitely going to change my state of mind positively.
Thank you for the presentation! I wish I had seen this 30+ years ago! It was almost as if you were describing me. One of the things you said which blew me away was that being shy is not who I am.... That is a profound statement and got my full undivided attention.
i have been living with shyness my whole life but now after watching this video i'll start working on it . The most difficult situation that happened to me was loosing my jobs on an interview eventhough having the experience and skills requiered for the job . shyness has been killing me but i will work on it.
Hearing your past, made me 100% sure I had social anxiety. I will tell my mom why I am always so serious and quiet, with the help of this video... thank you
Wow this really moved me. I was so moved by what you were saying and everything was so relatable... I am going to really make a change and start believing this can get better. My social anxiety has ruined my life so far but I can fix this and I will make small changes everyday... Thank you so much for this video. You honestly are helping so many people.
Wow Stefan very moving story. People used to say the exact same thing to me 'do you even talk?'. That really hit me when you mentioned that. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much. I was close to giving up and being depressed but this video has actually given me hope. I’m starting my first job ever tomorrow and even though I am nervous, I can’t wait to socialise and get out my comfort zone.
You've made such a good point. At our core, what we tell ourselves will always resonate with our actions and processes. This is true even with identifying with being shy. So good! Thanks for sharing!
The person you describe yourself as in the first few minutes of this video is exactly what I've been going through in my life. I'm almost 23 now and this is really helping me understand myself better and improve. Just wanted to leave that here.
This video is amazing ! So glad I found it.. I love how he’s not giving quick fixes like some of the other videos out there which suggests we take pills for anxiety which doesn’t even help with the actual problem. But what he’s talking about is making the actual changes, taking small steps towards your goal. Facing your fears. I loved this so much ❤️
Making this comment is my first official step to growing my self confidence! One day I’ll look back at this and tell myself it wasn’t so bad after all!!! Btw this comment took me like 5 minutes because I was so afraid about what people were going to think about me but it’s not going to stop me any more! Cheers to the journey ahead of me!

it's so nice to see videos like these where u have people you can relate to... I've been beating myself up about being shy and I am kinda happy that I'm not alone in this
I keep nodding my head like "yeah, this was exactly what I needed to hear". Everything you say are things I have told to myself at some point or another. There are also really good points you are making I haven't thought about before but that I really agree with. I came a long way since I decided to stand up in front of a room full of people to help the professor, the very first day of College. Now I moved to a new city and I need to find a job before my saves dissappear completely, and I'm struggling with going into shops to hand out my resumee. I just keep walking in circles without actually going into any place. Gotta change my mindset and try again!
How can anyone dislike this video. I have watched hundreds of similar videos and this one is by far the best! I can relate so much and thank you so much for taking your time to make such an amazing video.
I'm watching this videos after 7 years it was made and wondering why I have lived my whole life being shy and all. I always tell myself that is who I am but after watching this video, my mindset is changed, I am not shy! Yes I am confident and I can overcome anything that comes my way Thank you for this beautiful videos 🙏 I will try and work on myself.
If I get awestruck by someone, I get incredibly shy around them. I struggle with small talk and starting basic conversations. I really like your advice. I think I will put some of it into play. Thank you!
This fantastic Stefan. I really appreciate you addressing such an important topic that so many struggle with. Breaking it down into example steps of progression too makes it tangible. It takes the pressure off and gives people who struggle with this actual baby steps allowing them to walk through this and grow. Amazing content as always man.
I’m not shy. I’m confident. I can do this
Yess! Im so proud of you

Yes! You can💕
That’s the spirit, you got this! We got this!

I have different degrees of shyness and social anxiety but only in certain situations. Thank you for the tips
After so many people telling me that I'm strange and weird for not talking much this is exactly what I needed to hear
someone i can finally relate to
Just remember you’re not weird for not speaking a lot if thats your personality. People will always have something negative to say.
OMG! I thought I was the only one who skipped class to avoid giving a presentation due to shyness. Thank you so much for sharing this I now feel less alone
I'm not shy, I'm gonna do it.
Hope you guys have a great day 😊
Wishing you the same!
I love the term "analysis paralysis", that basically describes my whole life
Dude i thought no one else was as shy as me until you brought up the family part. Such a big help this video
Love this video. For me, I make it a game - see how many people I can talk to in a day and then try to beat my record.
Great way to do it!

This man just spoke straight to my childhood. This is definitely in my top 10 videos on youtube.
Great job man!!
