Anyone else who was there will never forget the 2008 McRae Stages Rally, when the top 15 were elite and former world champions. Mikkola, Vatanen. Jimmy and Alister McRae, John Buffum, Ken Block, Travis Pastrana, Louise Aitken-Walker, Russell Brooks, Kris Meeke amongst others and the one and only Ian Grindrod sitting beside Andrew Cowan in a Hillman Imp. The evening before, at Perth Racecourse, Jaggy Bunnet presided over a fans' Q&A session with all the drivers and navigators a fabulous evening followed by a very competitive day's rallying in some of the finest Perthshire forests. Sadly, many of the names are no longer with us and will always be remembered with fondness and respect. Thanks, DirtFish for taking the time to bring us this snippet of history.
😊having worked at Vauxhalls in Luton for 24 years I got to work on these rally models I believe only 3 models were made a year always silver plus all the stickers they were fitted with a 2300 cc engine rallying was a big thing back in the day
Fantastic I think it was as good as the WRC which I always watch but I think the cars and especially the Chevette is actually better! I actually drove that car in its day when we borrowed it for display at the start of Dartford and District Mo tor Clubs Mid Summer Rally , along with an Ascona 400 road car which turned up from Vauxhall with virtually no oil in the engine, good old Vauxhall! My dad and I then took it back to Bill Blydenstien,s at Shepwreth ,and met Bill The only thing I'm not to happy with is Bill Gwynne who I was a great fan of and was lucky to meet couple of times, using it on a road event!

Always been my favourite rally car they look so good.
That car probably went by my house on the circuit of Eire great days a full week of hard-core rallying a real marathon.
So good seeing these old cars driven. Car clubs keeping these style of relaxed events going should be applauded. Once again, we’ll presented Colin!

Always loved the Chevette, looked amazing, and they could shift
Fab surroundings, add that to your coffee Col.😅
Can we have Ian Grindrod on SPIN? 🥺
He will need to be on a few to share all his stories, I’ve heard a few, it’s a great idea, make it happen please chaps 👍🏻
Great stories garinteed over the years from Ian 👍
What would be interesting is road rolling in autonomous driving vehicles. Plot & Bash would be a lot different.😆
Yes seen Jimmy & Ian many times but in the Manta 400, great times
Nice 👍
I have the original seat out of that car down my shed! 😁
Jimmy macrae would be a great podcast to see , legand 🏁🏁👍
what is this fantastic road called ?
Do away with the stupid music, we want to only here the cars, which is music to our ears. 🤷♂️ Other than that great video. 👍👏👍
