G McIntosh true but he did earn a close to a mil for that I believe they brought him in with a 1 year contract for like 800k and after HH they basically told him go sit at home will pay you the contract and if we need you we’ll call you
I hope one day an unbiased documentary is done on Hogan, his politicking, his title reigns, who he made and who he buried. In one respect, you cannot fault Hogan for maintaining his position on the card. As a top guy, you’re goal should be to remain as such...HOWEVER by the philosophy of many wrestling historians, the goal should also be to put over and make new talent. Who did Hogan ever make? The match with Warrior at WM is constantly referenced because it’s literally the inkling of him making a “new” talent. One could say Goldberg in the Georgia Dome but not Bret Hart, not Shawn Michaels, really not even Undertaker...at least Flair made Sting,Luger,Steamboat.
0:16 so Easy E lied on the Self Destruction Warrior dvd that it wasn't true that the only reason to bring Jim in was so Terry could beat him. Shocking.
Hogan and Bischoff said that Bischoff wanted to renegotiate Warrior's contract after the Halloween Havoc match. But Warrior wanted too much money. So, Bischoff simply let the contract expire.
Yeah, it's pretty difficult to believe when they legit brought him in for just the program with Hogan and then stopped using him like two weeks later. And look if they needed to make some quick money with an established name and didn't feel like investing in him long term because of his personality, I could certainly get it but why lie and act like there were bigger plans when there weren't?
Warriors been said this, Hogan wanted his win back. Eric and Hogan caught in a lie, Kevin Sullivan was booker during those times. Hogan wanted to be friends to look like a politician.
I like both Eric Bischoff & Hulk Hogan, but that whole scenario with Warrior, R.I.P., coming into WCW to eventually build-up a match with Hollywood thru promos ended up becoming an indisputable shit show😌 It was a damned embarrassment. The contest itself was plain awful👎
It was a complete lack of organized planning. I've seen Warrior's & Bischoff's respective interviews on why it didn't work according to them. I never saw 1 with Hulkster's take on it
@@nanoblulovaolution4856 Oh, wow!!😯 Thanks for the 411, sir. I'll have to look it up. Certainly, Bischoff was in charge. If shit rolls downhill, he'll get the blame for it. I can't actually say all the baggage should be put on him. I'm sure Hogan and Warrior are at a percentage fault for the whole kit and kaboodle debacle themselves.
That's an interesting point about Hogan putting Piper over twice in non-title matches. If they didn't get on either that's pretty amazing. I'm guessing the first time was just because WCW wanted the big face pop for Piper but wanted Hogan to remain as heel champion to get heat.
The sole purpose of Warrior coming to WCW was just so Hogan could get his win back, no matter how many times Bischoff denies it. What was so perplexing about Hogan and Warrior was that you had these two men whose egos were almost the same size. You have Hogan who just can't let go of the past and wants to rectify it and you have Warrior who just didn't give a fuck what Hogan wanted to do. At least Savage and Piper swallowed their pride and worked with Hogan. Warrior wanted to do anything but work with Hogan, and it shows in that Havoc match. Warrior just did not give a fuck, no selling Hogan's offense, purposely trying to make him look stupid. And then you have Hogan who really didn't care how the match went, just as long as he won. And their egos got so huge that it took time away from DDP and Goldberg which half of that match got cut from the PPV feed and WCW not only had to air that entire match for free the next night on Nitro, but had to refund money to customers who purchased the PPV. Hogan and Warrior really fucked over WCW that day. One of the MANY times Hogan fucked over WCW because of his ego.
@@TheHannibalTV I know he said that if he had known that WCW only wanted to bring him in to help stroke Hogan's ego, he would've never have gone there in the first place.
Warrior was a larger than life character and granted he didn't play by the rules . He was One of my favorite wrestlers back in the day along with Kane and undertaker . Rest in peace warrior .
Warrior was over. I am sure he was asking too much money, but I'm sure he would've settled if WCW really wanted him. I honestly think this was just for Hogan to get his win back.
Kevin just being a little bitter over Jim because the fans including myself loved Him! Sure the Warrior had his demons but we all have a skeleton in our closet somewhere. Rip Jim you helped me get through a very rough abusive childhood and gave me something to look forward to every Saturday morning.
That happens with a lot of these guys that get big pops early on. Its life. There is not a job on this planet you can walk into on your 3rd day and start getting bumped up without jealousy. Guys like Goldberg. Warrior, ok sure they were inexperienced but they cant help the pop they get. If they are over the company is going to move them up. There always seems to be big smear campaigns about these guys when in reality they are just doing what their job wants them to
Majority who dislike him i think have a hint of jealousy. Maybe down to the fact that despite limited in ring ability, he drew big and was the favourite of most young kids at the time. DiBiase disliked him because he didnt 'love' the business, just used it to earn a living.. To be fair though, there are a lot of ex-pros from the 90s era who say he was a nice enough guy, Hellwig.
You are clueless Air Gorden, I'll admit Warrior didn't have that many moves but neither did Hogan or Goldberg or alot of the big musclehead guys. But we are talking about sports entertainment here not NCAA technical wrestling. The bottom line in the business is money and did he put butts in the seats and yes he did. And the statement about he didn't draw a dime or sell merch is ridiculous. If you watch the Ultimate Warrior documentary, The Ultimate Legend, it talks about how he was selling more merchandise and T-shirts than Hogan leading up to WM6, so he was selling the most stuff of anybody in the business at the time. All the guys get in the business for their self and to make a lot of money, why else are guys in their getting beat up unless they are in it for themselves.
Warrior and Hogan did make up. Check out Wrestlemania 30 and the Hall of Fame extras. Or the Warrior dvd from 2014. They speak and shake hands at least. Sounded good to me.
It's funny that Warrior hated the guy who put him over AND gave him his best match. Hogan didn't shadow him and undermine his entire run as champion like he did to Macho Man.
makes me laugh when they say the Warrior was limited , I can tell you first hand as a kid Warrior was my hero I didn't care what he said he was believable and like a superhero , these guys need to stop the jealousy he made an amazing character , kids aren't even bothered about his wrestling ability ....face it warrior was a superstar
Amazingly there is actually video that has been released now of Hogan and Warrior making up before Warrior died, maybe one of the few times Hogan didn't completely lie.
warrior was an insaley in touch with reality mother fucker. it's hard for most to even comprehend how special and unique the guy truly was. he was a worker that wasn't going to be worked by any promoter/wrestler...unless the price was truly right, like it was in WCW when Hogan had Bischoff's ear, who had Turners checkbook. Yeah, Warrior layed down for Hogan, but only when he got a million+ dollars in return. Hard to turn that shit down.
No wonder wrestlers cant get over...they cant escape the shadow of hulkamania...i think hogan wanted an eventual trillogy with warrior and Halloween Havok was a stepping stone...but it never materialized...
WCW could have been handled better.Just tell a guy with creative control no sometimes.Creative control does not mean total control. There are so many things that killed WCW,but WCW might still be around if Hulk Hogan didn't cause so many live Monday Nitros to be rewritten.
We are no longer friends and I lost a lot of respect for him for going against his brothers wishes regarding the WWE HOF but of course the royalties from WWE probably played a big factor in Lanny's decision on that. That's all I have to say regarding him.
I doubt WCW would bring back the UW just so HH could get his win back. They brought him back because he was a big name and they remembered how over he was in the WWE. They hoped he would sell tickets.
It would be an illegitimate Hall of Fame, if the Macho Man had not been inducted. I have NEVER liked Hogan, but even if he lied about making peace with Macho Man, I see WHY he did it. He wanted people to look on Macho and Hulk, both fondly and not remember the bitterness between them. If Randy HAD died on good terms with Hulk, that gives fans of both men something to be happy about. I admire Hulk for doing that, whether or not it actually IS true.
Say what you want about Warrior's ranting in the ring but he was getting some of the biggest pops of 1998. Hogan really sucks for not putting him over at HH, hell wcw may still be in business.
They would have gone done regardless. The network didn't want wrestling. Even though it was their highest rated show. The aol/Time Warner merger happened, ted turner lost power, they were losing millions and they sold it
man Sullivan looks 100X better than the other guys from his generation. he seems like a nice dude too. but i gotta say that statement about Hogan putting himself before business being strange... THAT SRATEMENT IS STRANGE. this is hulk hogan we are talking about. the originator of "CREATIVE CONTROL" . haha.
The Warrior and Hogan made up WM 30 weekend. The wwe has it on video. It's on the network. Whether it was a work or a shoot only Hogan, Warrior, and Vince know. As for Hogan and Macho I absolutely do not believe they ever made up. But for the record maybe Lanny slapped Hannibal too hard and he just doesn't remember.
BenjaminAlexander44 actually u right because Hogan vs rock in 2002 was a classic at wrestlemania but Hogan had great matches in wcw especially the one with sting at starrcade 97 classic I don't think was the timing of the match it was Hogan didn't wanna put into time into it warrior said that in a interview
You should believe Hogan on his take regarding making up with Warrior at Wrestlemania because it did indeed happen; albeit Hogan essentially ambushed Jim at a time when he def knew Warrior would be in a very weakened physical state and hence zero threat or chance of an altercation (our real American hero is the biggest gd pssy ever man) and he ensured that Nick was with him also, I guess in some pseudo attempt to defend the family honor? Yeah real nice Terry, but you absolutely knew what the deal was there huh brother? That interview he gave regarding how he found out about Jim’s death with Vince informing him…ugh it’s so transparent it’s unreal
Patrick Parker Holding down the young guys. The final straw for Savage that led him to quit WCW was when Hogan promised to drop the title back to him and never did.
Just review their entire history working together...as friend or foe, Hogan always pulled politics to get the best of Randy. It was too obvious to me but especially in WCW
Just from observing both of their true characters(tho I don’t know them personally) I get the vibe that Macho was a handshake deal kinda guy and his word was his bond but Hogan is someone who will give you his word but undercut/politic you at the very last minute. I think Macho knew he had to be “friends” with the top guy in order to get where he needed to but between Linda/Hulk harboring Liz during their divorce and Savage being positioned as kind of a place holder for Hogan at times,he just saw Hulk for who he was...a co-worker,not a friend.
Hogan & Flair strikes me as both egotistical pricks at times. I guess both believe that pro wrestling belongs to them. I like Warrior. Why? Warrior came into a transitional stage when the old timers (Hogan & Flair) needed to bow out gracefully. It's tough. It's like old lions refusing to step aside for upcoming, more talented lions. I don't care personally about either Flair or Hogan. Professional, Hogan an Flair contributed to the business of selling or promoting pro wrestling globally.
See, this is the thing that marks don't realize. Flair and Hogan sold tickets, sure, but without good opponents, they would have done jackshit for the business. People never calculate Andre, Orndorff, Savage, Earthquake, etc. when they consider Hogan's success. Flair and Hogan lie off of their ass every chance they get to boost their tremendously large egos. The difference between the two is at least Flair put over people for the good of the business. Hogan only did it when he filmed his shitty failures of movies. Look at Hogan from this interview alone and you can see how petty and insecure he is. Fuck Hogan!
See, I know you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.. Warrior was born in 59, Hogan in 53 and Flair in 49. You're acting like Warrior was twenty fucking years younger than either of them, or something. Warrior was shit, and as soon as the kids grew up (well, clearly you didn't...) and the cartoon era was done, so was he. Not to mention the fact that Flair was never like Hogan. He lost clean anytime he was needed to. You're a fucking mark.
It's annoying to hear wrestlers make fun of Warrior for his promos. The strange promo style was a huge part of the character and was very over with the fans. Seems like an easy bone to pick, but it's nonsense. Go watch the few promos that Warrior did in WCW, even after being away for years and in a new company with different fans the crowd was into it.
Ultimate Warrior,Bret Hart,Curt Hennig,Randy Savage after a while...WCW paid for all this talent yet basically did what WWE eventually did with their talent, buried em.
I’ll also add, I’m so fucking sick of hearing how horrible the Warrior was in the Halloween Havoc show. Watch the fucking match! HOGAN was the one that made that match awful. Warrior was awesome. Hogan was the one that fucked that match up. I wish people would see that.
Lol...the old narrative of Hogan wanting his win back. Complete BS. It’s strange because it didn’t make sense. He gets nothing putting the Warrior over by cheating. Hogan thought they could make money, and they didn’t.
These old punks hating on Warrior were just envious of Warrior's charisma to draw fans. These guys against Warrior were just another body compared to him.
To be fair to Hogan.... him n warrior did make up b4 he died, he made up with him wrestlemania 30 weekend ... the encounter and conversation is on film , wwe network, warriors DVD and youtube... check it out
He calls his promos "rambling" but if you were a kid at the time you called his promos "entertaining". Wrestling is ENTERTAINMENT and to criticize it like it's some piece of brilliant art is ridiculous on its face. Do these guys also criticize soap operas for bad acting and cheesy dialog? It's no different. The UW had incredible energy and was insanely fun to watch for a little kid and that's who he appealed to. He wasn't meant for all these elitists mark snobs and that's what these guys will never understand. Was he a great "technical wrestler"? Crap no. But he didn't HAVE to be. He oozed charisma and was actually believable as a real life super hero and that's what his job was. Good grief get over the criticism of the guy. He was more entertaining than all the guys in the business combined today.
Well said, I agree. Super charismatic and IMO his promos hold up upon further scrutiny. The one he did on Hogan where he likened their upcoming match to a plane crash is hilarious and brilliant. He actually put a lot of thought into what he said. Wasn't the typical screaming "I'm gonna beat you next Sunday! Bring it, pal!" Warrior basically was a DIY dude from the ground up and wanted control over his own character and gimmick, which I can respect. As a little kid I was a HUGE UW mark. The promos, the rope shaking, running to the ring, the gorilla press slams, the facepaint, damn I'm getting hype just thinking about it. Who cares if he wasn't a good technical wrestler? I'm a huge Bret Hart mark, but good grief, UW didn't NEED to be Bret Hart. He had his own niche and he was very good at it.
DuckTalesWooHoo1987 That’s my whole thing I don’t get about ppl who criticize him...wasn’t that the point of his character? The Ultimate Warrior character in the name alone sounds chaotic and almost Tarzan like, why would he be cutting Arn Anderson or Jake Roberts style promos. As a kid,the content of what they were saying was irrelevant,it was about charisma and getting me amped to watch the match. And if we’re really measuring,Hogan,Savage,Flair all rambled about something...that’s what entertained us. I def think ppl pick & choose what to like and take serious about Warrior,he was given a character and sold it to the best of his abilities.
thalrg22 You're generally right, but he wasn't given that character; he created it, which was proven in court. The character was largely developed before he got to the WWF. Everything to do with the look and personality of UW was his idea. The only thing McMahon came up with was "Ultimate."
they all say this this about warrior but for god sake he was over big time. maybe they shud have listened to the fans. saying he didnt go with the program but surely the popularity from the fans has in a big way gota dictate the program or business??
Hogan understands it's a work, right? Nobody in 1998, or in 1990, looked at wrestling as this real sport, with real bad asses, except for young children and maybe a few not so intelligent adults. But it's a show, it can be a good show, but that doesn't make it any less of a show. This reminds me of the situation in the first Expendables movie, where Jean-Claude Van Damme didn't want to do it because Stallone had written him too lose a fight to Jet Li, and Van Damme didn't think that was cool. So they cut the role down significantly and had Gary Daniels lose to both Jet Li and Jason Statham.
Hogan v Warrior 2 is the worst match I've ever seen considering the expectation/build up. Thankfully DDP vs Goldberg came AFTER and was a classic. Ironically, reminiscent of Hogan vs Warrior 1 in that it was the 2 biggest babyfaces in the company against each other.
I saw a tape where sullivan SUCCESSFULLY hits dusrty iwith a fireball- and this is back in the 1973s and it looks great and dusty is on his knees and he takes the fireball - hogan...oh god..hogan is on HIS knees and he tries to do it and he is such a complete foo. he fuc0)s it uyp.

G McIntosh true but he did earn a close to a mil for that I believe they brought him in with a 1 year contract for like 800k and after HH they basically told him go sit at home will pay you the contract and if we need you we’ll call you
The crowd reaction on the Nitro after Halloween Havoc was epic. WCW totally mishandling him.
@@murraysaucedo897 6 month contract but they didn't let him work matches. Eric never called him.
You wanna remain on top you don't politic to stay there. You earn it like everybody else
@@rashaunwilliams6121 That makes no sense.
@@BuJammy it makes perfect sense. Just not to you.
Kudos to Kevin Sullivan for confirming Eric Bischoff was full of shit!
Kevin Sullivan was a nutcase as well during his "purple haze" days.
Mr. M A J E S T I C XIII . Blackstruggle77 that was his gimmick lol
Ok mark
I never saw 1 with Hulkster's take on it
@@michaelvaughn8864 From what I’ve seen Hulk on podcast, Hulk put the booking loss on Eric. You’re right it’s a complete mess.
@@nanoblulovaolution4856 It's probably a team effort fuck up😔
That's an interesting point about Hogan putting Piper over twice in non-title matches. If they didn't get on either that's pretty amazing. I'm guessing the first time was just because WCW wanted the big face pop for Piper but wanted Hogan to remain as heel champion to get heat.
To be fair to Hogan he did make up with Warrior. We have video and photographic proof.
That could be done for the publics view.
@@shawnbates1804 You could say that about everything in the wrestling business.
You are 100% right that Hogan wanted to get his win back. Even the Warrior said that in interviews.
@@TheHannibalTV I know he said that if he had known that WCW only wanted to bring him in to help stroke Hogan's ego, he would've never have gone there in the first place.
He was legend ..
I liked warrior. Should've let him run wild
Warrior was a larger than life character and granted he didn't play by the rules . He was One of my favorite wrestlers back in the day along with Kane and undertaker . Rest in peace warrior .
Love me some Kevin Sullivan
There always seems to be big smear campaigns about these guys when in reality they are just doing what their job wants them to
Warrior was a draw and the fans loved him, but the guys in the biz hated his guts!
Some did like him but that's pretty accurate.
Todd Schneck no wonder he was the worst in ring worker in history. He makes John Cena look like HBK.
To hell with the guys on the business, he was there to make MONEY not friends
100% agree! WCW would’ve DOMINATED with The Warrior. Hogan’s ego destroyed what could have cause WCW to win the Monday Night Wars.
Paul Widner hogan ruined it cause the NWO would never lose..
Warrior was a no-talent hack, and WCW would have died sooner than it did with him than it did.
Say whatever the F you want but neither of you could hold a fucking candle to that Wrestlemania VI match.
That was fucking epic live.
Warrior was incredible. He was a cool guy, very misunderstood!
No one else sounded wild and crazy in promos. They just sipped tea and spoke with perfect diction.
makes me laugh when they say the Warrior was limited , I can tell you first hand as a kid Warrior was my hero I didn't care what he said he was believable and like a superhero , these guys need to stop the jealousy he made an amazing character , kids aren't even bothered about his wrestling ability ....face it warrior was a superstar
I hate Warrior, but Hogan managed to get me to root for Warrior for once.
Amazingly there is actually video that has been released now of Hogan and Warrior making up before Warrior died, maybe one of the few times Hogan didn't completely lie.
They did it because WWE paid them well and asked them to for the camera I'm sure
warrior was an insaley in touch with reality mother fucker. it's hard for most to even comprehend how special and unique the guy truly was. he was a worker that wasn't going to be worked by any promoter/wrestler...unless the price was truly right, like it was in WCW when Hogan had Bischoff's ear, who had Turners checkbook.
They couldn't say no. The creative control gave him full power over storylines and matches
what happen between you and lanny poffo?
We are no longer friends and I lost a lot of respect for him for going against his brothers wishes regarding the WWE HOF but of course the royalties from WWE probably played a big factor in Lanny's decision on that. That's all I have to say regarding him.
Thanks for that. On a happier note, Kevin Sullivan seems a really nice guy in person. Am I right, Hannibal?
I doubt WCW would bring back the UW just so HH could get his win back. They brought him back because he was a big name and they remembered how over he was in the WWE. They hoped he would sell tickets.
Warrior exposed Terry. Macho did as well, now they're dead.
selfie kroos Hogan made their hearts explode.
Illuminati
What's the deal with lanny and you guys?
I've always like Ho Kogan
It would be an illegitimate Hall of Fame, if the Macho Man had not been inducted.
I have NEVER liked Hogan, but even if he lied about making peace with Macho Man, I see WHY he did it. He wanted people to look on Macho and Hulk, both fondly and not remember the bitterness between them. If Randy HAD died on good terms with Hulk, that gives fans of both men something to be happy about. I admire Hulk for doing that, whether or not it actually IS true.
warrior vs dungeon of doom could have done well.
Pretty sure there’s a picture of hogan and warrior shaking hands the night warrior was inducted into the hof
THAT SRATEMENT IS STRANGE. this is hulk hogan we are talking about. the originator of "CREATIVE CONTROL" . haha.
The warrior was fkn over as over can be. WCW used him wrong and didn’t see the vision
Warrior was his own worst enemy.
Is the Ultimo warrior still wrestling today? Is he on WWE or TNA?
He died
Is Ultimo Warrior a combination of Ultimo Dragon and Ultimate Warrior?
The Warrior/Hogan fued was so out of place in 1998 .. If it could have happened back in WWE around 2002 or 2003 it would have been off the charts
If they did bret vs Vince at 26 they easily could have done warrior vs Hogan in 03
Death Adder no LOL
The Uuuuuuuultimate Rematch [Vince MacMahon voice]
@Death Adder really? when you get awful worker vs awful worker = one of the worst matches ever
Kevin but here is the REAL TRUTH... WE WILL REMEMBER THE WARRIOR WAYYYY BEFORE WE REMEMBER YOU !!
Kevin Sullivan is 5’4.
It would shocked everyone if ultimate warrior joined nwo . The 20 min warrior promo wasn't near bad as Kevin Sullivan Steve Corino roh angle tho .
What was Machos problem with Hogan ?
Hogan ruined his marriage to Liz. Also, Hogan was a piece of shit who never was a friend to anyone. He just used people.
What problems would that be? My guess is Hogan fucked him over, too. Of course, if it even exists...
Warrior was not talented in wrestling ability.
Warrior was hated by other wrestlers. They also hated he was a huge draw. Very entertaining
Warrior is not the only person talking shit about hogan.
Hogan just wanted to beat him to get it back from WM.. What a petty little guy! Still don’t like Hogan..
UW the 🐐
I’ll also add, I’m so fucking sick of hearing how horrible the Warrior was in the Halloween Havoc show.
I always founs it funny Hogan finally drops the wcw belt then magically wcw pays the crazy fee for warrior u don't care overshadow the hulkster
These old punks hating on Warrior were just envious of Warrior's charisma to draw fans. These guys against Warrior were just another body compared to him.
they're always after his lucky charms
If you had Sullivan and Warrior deliver each other's promos verbatim it would work perfectly. Neither one made any sense.
Hogan always put himself over the business. Warrior was just as crazy though, when it came to the narcissism.
Your an idiot
thalrg22 You're generally right, but he wasn't given that character; he created it, which was proven in court.
Good ol Kevin Sullivan Boston boy to Florida then WCW where he wasn't that great but great shooter
genuis said hogan and macho made up 1 year macho death
Everything is Hogan’s fault. Every problem that’s ever occurred in wrestling is his fault.
Mr. Schaffner
No, you self-pitying clod. Just the ego, the sulking, the politicking, the hypocrisy, the ego.
I'm fine with that. 😂
I'd act the same way if I had no circulation running through my arm.
I hate how these people try to re-write history. We were there? We saw the dvd's? We saw the youtube? We saw how full the stadiums were?😞Smh....
that's b.s. about piper never getting along with hogan. i've watched piper's interviews too.
Specially for a badass
Don't wanna speak ill of the dead but the warrior doesn't belong in the hall of fame he never done anything for the business
