Thank you. We have asked Dutch and he has said he's no longer doing shoots but we won't throw in the towel with him. Sabu is on our list for the future. If we expand to NY in 2018 we'll definitely use him on a GNW event.
In St Louis he was known as King Kong Brody. He was involved in a famous match at the Fox theatre where the prize was supposed to be a trophy. At the last minute the promoter realized there was no trophy. They quickly improvised and grabbed a spittoon from the lobby and used it as a trophy.
Seem Brody several times here in Stl . For a big guy he could wrestle . 1 of my favorite matches was Brody vs Dick " the Brusier " . Its sad to think that nobody helped Brody as he was lying their for 45 minutes . WTF is wrong with people ? Wish wrestling today had guys like Brody . Haven't watched wrestling since McMahon bought out WCW in 2001 . WWE SUCKS !!! treated all WCW guys like shit .
You can't. That would be Double Jeopardy. Invader was already tried in court and found not guilty. Puerto Rico is a territory of the US, and thus, operates under US law.
There's some confusion here in the comments...Sullivan asked LUGER, not Brody, and LUGER said "I have a family and I didn't want to get hurt so I got out of there". Confirmed exactly by Luger in a shoot you can see here on YT. Just search "Lex Luger Shoots on his Infamous 1986 match with Bruiser Brody". It also includes clips of the match. Brody was just standing around no-selling punches, Luger even asks the ref what's up, and finally just has enough and DQ's to get out of there. It's like Brody was a zombie or something. Maybe he was on something...but afterwards Luger went to him and asked him what was wrong... Brody said that the match just wasn't working. Ok, so it's not working. You still work, do the finish and then leave. Don't just stand there and no-sell the local babyface. I think Brody was stoned or pilled up or something.
Brody wasn't stoned he knew what he was doing. Notice how he single leg sweeps him with his hand then kicks the back of his other leg. Textbook takedown. Can't do that if you're drugged out. Brody did that to Luger because of Luger's lack of respect. Before the match, it was said that Luger talked to Brody and TOLD Brody what he Luger wanted to do in the match. That was a big no-no because Brody was a 15 year veteran whereas Luger was a rookie. Brody taught Luger respect or fear. One last thing Luger LIED about talking to Brody afterwards. Luger was so scared that after he hopped outta the cage he got in his car (in his wrestling gear!) and zoomed off. He never talked to Brody, he was too scared. All this info comes from Bad News Allen(Brown) who was there that night in Fla.
What a fucked up way for Brody to die ! Laying there in the floor for 45 minutes bleeding out . Brody was one of my favorite wrestlers in Stl . Always put on a great match no matter who he was matched up against . And to think his killer went unpunished . A senseless murder with a unbelievable outcome of NO JUSTICE !!!!
Hey Devon, love your shoots bro! You seem to ask a lot of the same questions I would ask! So hell yeah Devon, you keep em coming, and I'll damn sure keep watching!! I would love to you do a sit down with Kevin Von Erich! I grew up in Dallas. Between late 82 till early 89 I hardly ever missed a Friday night at the Sportatorium! I saw a lot of what we now call "Legends" in that building! The Von Erich boys were bigger than the Dallas Cowboys in those days, and that's not exaggerating, those boys, especially Kerry and Kevin, they were like Rock Stars, I'd never seen anything like that before or since then! It was a great time, and a great place to be a Wrestling fan! That's the one "shoot" interview I can't wait for!! I appreciate you brother and take it easy!! 👊✌️
I know this was an old clip and I'm responding belatedly, once again, to another one of your excellent interviews. Great job, as always. I actually spoke to "Dateline NBC" several months prior to the 30th anniversary about the Brody story and why it needs to be investigated leading up to the anniversary. A producer called me back. "That sounds like a great story," he said. I never heard back. Go figure...
Of all the documentaries and podcast I've seen on the subject of Brody's murder. This is the first time that I've heard Brody was still living an hour after being stabbed.
Damn it lights me on fire every time I think about Brody. If you watch tape of Japan where he was a megastar, he's scary as hell. Swinging that chain, running guys out the arena. Complete pandemonium. I loved it. To this day I still don't get why Frank's killer got off. All they did was show a tape of Brody, not "Frank", to the naive Puerto Rican jury, who thought wrestling was real n you have an open n shut case of self defense from a madman. If they are born American citizens and get all our benefits etc then why can't they bring dude over here n charge him? Certainly it's a messed up case. Being more than a little misleading with the jury and all the American wrestlers didn't get their summons till like a month after the trial. It's bullshit. I have heard Dutch Mantel and Tony Atlas speak on it. Dutch said he had walked out. Tony saw the whole thing except for the actual stabbing. Brody had bought a chunk of the PR territory and was kinda hassling the guys about his money is what I heard. And I don't mean hassle in a bad way, just letting em know he came for his cash n it was like 10-15K. Men have killed for a fraction of that. It's just one of those things that will never sit right with me. Go watch tape of Brody when he's just plain ol Frank, the family man. It puts it in a whole different light. He was very nice, intelligent, a good husband and family man as I said...it really is heart breaking. I wonder where his son is today. That was the last thing he did on Earth. Try to get Tony Atlas to draw a picture of his son. He died gripping the picture
HANNIBAL is very obsessed with bruiser Brody I hope he joined WWF and WCW big safe organisations He would me mega Star Specially if he worked with Vince McMahon Unfortunately he worked for small unknown wrestling companies
You do the best shoots.I'd love to see you interview Sabu or Dutch Mantel.
Thank you. We have asked Dutch and he has said he's no longer doing shoots but we won't throw in the towel with him. Sabu is on our list for the future. If we expand to NY in 2018 we'll definitely use him on a GNW event.
That would be great! My family and I will be back in NY in June.
Ian Totten
Ian Totten . He already interviewed Dutch

Brody went by King Kong in St. Louis out of respect for Dick the Bruiser, who had some influence in the St. Louis promotion.
I can't find the video of Sullivan beating up Elvis impersonator it's hilarious
Sullivan looks great. WCW should of had him booking instead of Russo
Easily one of the best shoot interviews around. Wealth of knowledge and experience, and some of the best eras.
Sullivan is a great interview. Intelligence in wrestling at its best 💯

RIP Kevin... Came back to listen to this after the sad news.
Xpac was there during that cage match
He was the cage.
He's the Brian Williams of wrestling..
Love the Brody stories. Always pisses me off what happened to him. Feel like someone should re open the case.
You can't. That would be Double Jeopardy. Invader was already tried in court and found not guilty. Puerto Rico is a territory of the US, and thus, operates under US law.
US is a colony of The Crown and is under Admiralty Law, notice the gold fringe on the flag in every court ?
carmine redd the US isn’t part of the crown. The revolutionary war was over that.
@@Youre_Right He's spewing a conspiracy theory.
Brody was a beast.
Sullivan's devil gimmick and varsity club were great gimmicks.
I seen a lot of Bruiser Brody's matches on RUclips, he was good and he was one big scary beast
WWE should have a Bruiser Brody award in the Hall of Fame
True
Sullivan reminds me of the guy behind Wizard of Oz he is still HOF material lol
Herman Booger he seems like really likeable guy here.
He was The Wizard the manager of Oz aka Kevin Nash
Great interviews! Love them!
I am very surprised that Bruiser Brody was never the champion with the belt before he was murdered.
Brody was an incredible wrestler/entertainer. Usually venues have an ambulance at the event, prior to the beginning. He bled out. Unconscionable.
It took place on January 21, 1987 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

It sounded like he said New Yark.
Bostonian accent
Wow excellent wrestling mind
Why didn’t they boycott the territory? Didn’t Dutch or someone suggest that???
Brody needs to be in HOF.
Love The Boston Accent.
Nice to see a guy whos brain aint fried. Saw Bill Alfonso talk about this and hes a mess.
What needs to happen is the killer needs a visit from a hired hitman who ask for a autograph then the bang
One big badass biker looking guy that loves Jesus
Thumbnail looks like devil horns.
True that is cool!
Brody must be fired from all companies way before his death.
He killed Benoit
Hé put The Blood Hunter up to it is what I heard
HANNIBAL is very obsessed with bruiser Brody
I hope he joined WWF and WCW big safe organisations
He would me mega Star
Specially if he worked with Vince McMahon
Unfortunately he worked for small unknown wrestling companies
Dude needs some Head and Shoulder’s on that beard
Luger was so careless in the ring brody thought he would get hurt by luger cause he was so sloppy in the ring and he hurt guys.
But Blaine likes to sit on top of peoples Stomachs at school recess
Sullivan was a terrible wrestler...but he's cool
kooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
