Important point: The Yamaha comes in a great sturdy bag/case that contains the sub woofer and the three satellite stems all in one. Its about 23kg so it is carryable (but I use wee trolley). I would say the LD Curve 500 sounds clearer, but I bought the Yamaha because I need to transport the PA on my own. You can buy two cases for the LD Curve 500, but you are looking at about another £150 in two units. Hope this helps. The Yamaha sounds great live, like a proper PA, and I get a lot of comments on the great sound and cool look. If I still had a roadie like the old days then I would have gone for the LD Curve 500.
I have the Yamaha stagepass 600 I’m going to purchase the Yamaha 1k . Q did you download the mixer app. If so do you have the mixer on a iPad or your phone?
Nice demo! I have a pair of EV Evolve 30Ms and a pair of Maui 5 GOs. The Mauis might not sound as good as the bigger systems but they're very loud and pack a big punch for their compact size and light weight. I did have a non battery powered Maui 5 but it has a con that I couldn't compromise on being the lack of dedicated XLR output to link it to another Maui or any other speaker. You should do an updated version of this video featuring newer systems such as the Evolve 50, 50M and 30M, JBL PRX ONE and Eon One MK2, Yamaha Stagepass 1K MK2 and RCF JMIX8. The LD Systems Maui 11G2 are also a decent system.
I've just looking to buy one of those for DJ playing wedings, company parties and so on. I was deciding between LD systems maui 28 g2 and Yamaha Stagepass 1K, but after reading also thiniking about LD Systems Curv 500 ES. Which of those would you recomend me and why?
Did you set these all on flat EQ setting? Seemed to be massively different in terms of lows, mids and highs. Potential purchasers keep in mind that these EQ parameters can be adjusted on the unit.
Thanks for the video. But for an AV Company, I'd expect better audio quality from your video recording, a little hard to hear you, especially the further you get from your phone. I'm sure you have a decent lav & bodypack in that shop somewhere. But overall solid video, great review, thanks as always.
how is the LD Maui 28 g2 compare to Bose L1 Pro 8? which one you think better for home use for Karaoke and should it use of pair or one unit for home. Thanks
How does the Yamaha Stagepass 1K compare to a Bose L1 Compact? Volume before break-up and over all sound quality. We're a backing trax band. (NO MIDI! Real back tracks) I currently use 2 Compacts and 3 Fender Expos. Compacts are exceptionally clear and transparent, but maybe a bit harsh. The Expos are a bit warmer. However we cannot get large stage volume even with all 5 without break up. Perfect for small to mid size gigs. But for outside gigs, I have to add my 3 Mackie DLM12 full range cabs. Is the Stagepass appreciably louder then the Compact?
I think you will be my next road trip. Only 2.5 hours away. Worth it for the selection you have and people that actually know what they are talking about. Glad I stumbled across your channel thanks to DJ BARR.
Hi! Great vid! Question for ya....do you recommend purchasing extended warranty for any of these units? I've heard it's a scam....BUT....I csnt help but be drawn to the idea of getting it covered jic something ever happens. Thanks so much!!!! PS....I bought the Yamaha 1k ;)
Well it all depends. If you like having the peace of mind of knowing your equipment is covered by a warranty, and don't mind paying for that, by all means. If you need another Yamaha Stagepas 1K, please let us know. Thanks.
@@CanalSoundandLight Could you do a video/product review of that?! That would make a cool vid! Get a couple different flat screens from some buddies...do a side by side through the same column speaker! :)

He’s wearing a lav. You can see it. It sounds like they forgot to turn it on, and they used scratch audio from the camera instead.

You didn't mention that the curves can be upgraded by buying extra satellites as the tops are modular
So strange. That doesn't look like the standard pole that comes with the RCF?
Does the Yamaha Stagepass come with a 7 year warranty?
Other Yamaha Professional Audio Products 1 Year Warranty

No Bose, JBL or EV? Not a very comprehensive test
Find any of those with a decent wattage for under 1200
Yamaha sounds better. Sound is no different from the sound of my Yamaha MG16XU. Because this too have the same SPX DSP. (Spelling edited).
How would these sound/work hooked up to my flat screen?? Seriously...wouldn't these kick most sound bar's a**?? :)
They would definitely sound pretty good with your TV. More bass for sure.
