He’s the only guy I’ve heard that’s currently performing that sounds so much like BB besides Mayer. They’re both modern versions of the Kings. Mayer has got the SRV Clapton thing and Fletcher has got the Hendrix/BB King thing
I agree with hector2utube that Kirk's sound is heavy with B.B.King and some Freddie King influence. Now at 7:17 his second jam begins and reminds me of Robin Trower. Mr. Fletcher is cool in my book!
You can feel a big warm personality coming through in these phrases, someone who's felt all the depths and heights of being human, and has a lot of kindness and empathy in their heart.
You can tell they were raised right because his brothers and his family are all the same kind hearted ❤️. I found Kurt because I followed his brother CT Fletcher powerhouse of a weightlifting champion from way back and it just so happened Kurt was on one of the RUclips videos of CT so I figured I check it out because I also enjoy playing the guitar and the blues. I'm glad I did .God bless
Kirk is the man, been lucky to see him play in some very intimate venues here in the UK and even spoke to him after the gig enjoying a drink at the bar. He is so humble and gracious, very generous with his time. He is forging a path up there with the greats of blues guitar
The only thing a blues player has to find is a great tone. The rest comes on its own. You can only play 5 notes in a solo... If the sound melts your heart
@@oicsaywhat Happy you've discovered him and like his playing. I don't know which country you're in but I'm in someplace that used to be britain. Over the last few years I've come across many many awesome guitar players, singers in the ...u.s. So many it's ridiculous. One of my favourites, although not a blues player, is John Prine. He has a similar playing style to mine and I just love his sound. Simple but very effective.
@@ianrichardson3968 Love John Prine. May he rest in peace 🙏, yeah I’m in the USA , RUclips is the best thing for discovering new music I can’t handle the music they force feed us with mainstream music , there’s so many artist out there that deserve the same recognition and probably better musician to boot, yeah hope your music gets out there!!
Kirk is an amazing player and a sweet heart as a person...... The big stage is long overdue.....combination of so many styles.... so much soul and heart into it.
Well that’s just the dog’s what’s its isn’t it. Great tasteful playing and fab vocals. I’ll be spending hours just trying to steal some of those licks to put into my playing. Fabulous/
Well I'm just now hearing Kirk Fletcher for the first time, where have I been? Good stuff Kirk, welcome to the family. That really does my heart good to know the future of the blues is safe!
Great! I am also very impressed how the drummer, Vince Fossett is " taking care of business ", difficult not to play too much, not being in the way, not loose push at the same time and with a great blues playing style and feel, perfect!
In the first song, I'm pretty sure he was going directly to the amp (maybe a compressor) and it was crisp. Kirk is great for today. Hes got that old sound but hes incorporated and expanded on the style he expresses. And what a great touch -- understands the power of dynamics and building a solo. Solid stuff!
hello... I don't think he was using a compressor besides amp itself compression. just slight reverb. but surely you are right a damn cable straight to the amp.. 😉🖖🏻🎸
Smooth playing, tasty licks and he makes all the faces that come with playing the blues, just right. (Old Chicago Blues Guy...) thanks for sharing this, makes ya feel good, video
Thanks Kirk for the detailed info on Lace Sensor pups. I own 5 Stratocastors, 2 of which are 1980's vintage Lace. Not all Gold but a mix. I love the tones. I was not aware of the criticality of the height of the the pups relative to the strings. What do you use as your optimum height from the top of the pup cover to the bottom of the string. Oh yes what gauge strings do you use. You are one bad ass blues machine with all due respect. Keep it coming. Love it! Jerry D USA-PA
Thank you for providing a great live-act again! I appreciate your awesome commitment to excellent musical art and your effort of sharing it with others!
Kirk Fletcher can whisper with his strings as sweetly as he can make those steel wires wail, take it up, take it down, take it home, a singing, stinging, filigree of purest blues storytelling.
Holy smokes! That's some blues. I don't think I've ever heard anything like this before. That second tune. There's a little Hendrix in there and a lot more.
Kirk is one soulful being!! He sounds like BB king, Joe Bonamassa, Jimmy Hendricks, Chuck Berry, and more. But, he has a style of his own . Keep on keeping 💯 on!!!
Love this , Love yr style , play those blues ! I just started learning to play the blues I have a long way to go but I’m learning ! Thanks for this woo ! 🎸😎👍🎧🎼🔥💯🎸😎👍🎧🎼🔥💯🎸😎👍
Can you say......B.B. King Clone to the nth degree? Amazing. Not difficult to draw the conclusion that his Axework was totally inspired by The King of The Blues. Uncanny.
Obviously Kirk is killer, but that drummer has awesome dynamics. Loved his feel during the beginning of the solo, so quiet, so full of restraint. It’s drummers like him that make it easy for us guitar players.
A lot of character in his playing! Not easy to play the blues, because it's always about transmitting a portfolio of emotions to the listener often loaded with elements of hurt, pain, loss, anger, desperation and sadness all wrapped up in a full segment of virtuoso lead guitar shredding.
Holy smokes - Kirk is on fire here. This is probably my favourite playing of his so far that I’ve heard. Also, is that a Clapton strat he’s using? Looks like Lace Sensors on that bad boy!
Wow jaw dropping playing Kirk! I hear BB King , Jimi , John Mayer and that second tune was in completely in the style of Robin Trower .....amazing player !
I love the sign behind the band that says “absolutely no video recording “ lol! Some things are so good it would be a crime to not record. This being one!
Comps like Freddy, sings like Albert and makes it cry like B.B....this is the kind of player you watch and go "yeah, I could do that..." then you get home, strap in and click the tubes on...and in a single bar over a backing track...you see the error of your ways...his 12 bar blues are mentally accessible in some way, much like the players I mentioned...but you really dont understand what he's executing...not until you get a guitar in your hands...approximation inside fuzz, delay and wah is one thing...but you had damn well hit the spot when you're up there stark naked and straight in with the 'verb on 2...
Kirk is like a brew of all the good blues guys that are no longer with us. Youve got all three kings in his playing. Vocally hes not quite there but i think he'll get better with that over time.
❤Also if you’re learning one of the best things I did was turn the music 🎶 up just to where you can still hear where you’re going right or wrong and I got some cheap sax lessons from the guy I bought the saxophone from in Edinburgh Scotland great days xx
Kinda male you want to go to the store, buy a sack of 10 penny nails and build yourself a smoke house (If y'all didn't say "Gown head" one time you just didn't get it)

He’s the only guy I’ve heard that’s currently performing that sounds so much like BB besides Mayer. They’re both modern versions of the Kings. Mayer has got the SRV Clapton thing and Fletcher has got the Hendrix/BB King thing
I am so impressed too. It is like wow!
SRV is a fair alternative.
If you like his blues chops, he's killer on rhythm guitar
A total BEAST of a player.
I agree with hector2utube that Kirk's sound is heavy with B.B.King and some Freddie King influence. Now at 7:17 his second jam begins and reminds me of Robin Trower. Mr. Fletcher is cool in my book!
What pedal is he using in the second song for the Trower sound? Univibe?
Dude I was just thinking that!! Do you know the name of the tune?
Any of you guys know where i could find a backing track in that style and by who ? Absolutely insane
definitely Trower Power vibes there !! fire!

As a guitarist myself, I have to admire the amazing tone and soul here 👌!!

Very nice, finally a player who doesn't sound like SRV.
It's that AUTHENTIC "Old School" Blues sound that Kirk brings from his very Soul!
Loving this guy’s sound. Very moving.
Though, I truly wold like to hear someone who sounds like SRV. Please do share.
@@ryanlamb8118 Well Philip Sayce and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Well their guitar tone and a lot of licks are very similar
No, he sounds like BB King.
