He’s the only guy I’ve heard that’s currently performing that sounds so much like BB besides Mayer. They’re both modern versions of the Kings. Mayer has got the SRV Clapton thing and Fletcher has got the Hendrix/BB King thing
@@oicsaywhat Happy you've discovered him and like his playing. I don't know which country you're in but I'm in someplace that used to be britain. Over the last few years I've come across many many awesome guitar players, singers in the ...u.s. So many it's ridiculous. One of my favourites, although not a blues player, is John Prine. He has a similar playing style to mine and I just love his sound. Simple but very effective.
@@ianrichardson3968 Love John Prine. May he rest in peace 🙏, yeah I’m in the USA , RUclips is the best thing for discovering new music I can’t handle the music they force feed us with mainstream music , there’s so many artist out there that deserve the same recognition and probably better musician to boot, yeah hope your music gets out there!!
You can feel a big warm personality coming through in these phrases, someone who's felt all the depths and heights of being human, and has a lot of kindness and empathy in their heart.
You can tell they were raised right because his brothers and his family are all the same kind hearted ❤️. I found Kurt because I followed his brother CT Fletcher powerhouse of a weightlifting champion from way back and it just so happened Kurt was on one of the RUclips videos of CT so I figured I check it out because I also enjoy playing the guitar and the blues. I'm glad I did .God bless
Kirk is the man, been lucky to see him play in some very intimate venues here in the UK and even spoke to him after the gig enjoying a drink at the bar. He is so humble and gracious, very generous with his time. He is forging a path up there with the greats of blues guitar
The only thing a blues player has to find is a great tone. The rest comes on its own. You can only play 5 notes in a solo... If the sound melts your heart
Kirk Fletcher can whisper with his strings as sweetly as he can make those steel wires wail, take it up, take it down, take it home, a singing, stinging, filigree of purest blues storytelling.
Kirk is one soulful being!! He sounds like BB king, Joe Bonamassa, Jimmy Hendricks, Chuck Berry, and more. But, he has a style of his own . Keep on keeping 💯 on!!!
Kirk is an amazing player and a sweet heart as a person...... The big stage is long overdue.....combination of so many styles.... so much soul and heart into it.
I agree with hector2utube that Kirk's sound is heavy with B.B.King and some Freddie King influence. Now at 7:17 his second jam begins and reminds me of Robin Trower. Mr. Fletcher is cool in my book!
Great! I am also very impressed how the drummer, Vince Fossett is " taking care of business ", difficult not to play too much, not being in the way, not loose push at the same time and with a great blues playing style and feel, perfect!
I love the sign behind the band that says “absolutely no video recording “ lol! Some things are so good it would be a crime to not record. This being one!
Well I'm just now hearing Kirk Fletcher for the first time, where have I been? Good stuff Kirk, welcome to the family. That really does my heart good to know the future of the blues is safe!
In the first song, I'm pretty sure he was going directly to the amp (maybe a compressor) and it was crisp. Kirk is great for today. Hes got that old sound but hes incorporated and expanded on the style he expresses. And what a great touch -- understands the power of dynamics and building a solo. Solid stuff!
hello... I don't think he was using a compressor besides amp itself compression. just slight reverb. but surely you are right a damn cable straight to the amp.. 😉🖖🏻🎸
Holy smokes! That's some blues. I don't think I've ever heard anything like this before. That second tune. There's a little Hendrix in there and a lot more.
Smooth playing, tasty licks and he makes all the faces that come with playing the blues, just right. (Old Chicago Blues Guy...) thanks for sharing this, makes ya feel good, video
Obviously Kirk is killer, but that drummer has awesome dynamics. Loved his feel during the beginning of the solo, so quiet, so full of restraint. It’s drummers like him that make it easy for us guitar players.
Well that’s just the dog’s what’s its isn’t it. Great tasteful playing and fab vocals. I’ll be spending hours just trying to steal some of those licks to put into my playing. Fabulous/
I’m trying to learn the blues. This guy is the ultimate benchmark for any blues player. Awesome,
He’s the only guy I’ve heard that’s currently performing that sounds so much like BB besides Mayer. They’re both modern versions of the Kings. Mayer has got the SRV Clapton thing and Fletcher has got the Hendrix/BB King thing
I am so impressed too. It is like wow!
SRV is a fair alternative.
If you like his blues chops, he's killer on rhythm guitar
Kirk is one of the best blues players out there, surprisingly many have never heard of him...their loss..
So has most things, it's how it's done.
@@sgcl2276 so have houses, beer, and hamburgers. But we still want em and need em.
I just discovered him and totally blown away!! Masterful tone and playing

If this doesn,t move your soul.......Then you simply don,t have One... Blues will never Die!
profesor Mr Kirk
BB LIVES ! On the backs of KINGS , we grow !
Kirk is a favorite. No fake soul. The real thing.
This is like some beautiful blend of BB KING,BUDDY GUY,STEVIE RAY AND I LOVE IT ALL,I WISH THIS GUY A LONG CAREER!
Eric eat your heart out. This doesn’t get better. This doesn’t get any better. Thanks, Kirk.
Best Kirk slow blues performance by far
King of the SweetSpots
No matter where he ends up....
Its always right
This is the real deal.....as blue as blue can get....can't get enough of this!
A total BEAST of a player.
Whoever thumbs downs this video I would not be able to get along with. They don't understand the blues and probably like edm. Kirk is a master
@Gabrielle Wood booooo :)
Thank you to whoever brought this guy to the limelight. OH YEAH!
so nice to hear some good ole slow soulful blues again, thank you

Only recently found this dude... now my favorite modern blues player
I liked this guy from the first note. Super good. What a player.
Thinking exactly the same..immediate ahhhhhh...
As a guitarist myself, I have to admire the amazing tone and soul here 👌!!
Same it sounds so amazing with how much he's putting his soul he puts into his playing
I agree..
The only thing a blues player has to find is a great tone. The rest comes on its own. You can only play 5 notes in a solo... If the sound melts your heart
As a BIPOC, I admire the guitar playing too
Love the sweet sound of those Lace Sensor pups. Love you style too and thanks to Don Lace, R.I.P.
Love the tone he's getting here - this should be the official promo video for Lace!
What can one say, My Kirk Fletcher is rather superb 😀
Kirk Fletcher can whisper with his strings as sweetly as he can make those steel wires wail, take it up, take it down, take it home, a singing, stinging, filigree of purest blues storytelling.
I have probably watched this 40 times in the last couple of weeks. There is so much beautiful guitar playing to mine…
😅
Best blues player on the planet! So authentic🔥🔥🔥
I hear a lot of BB King here - nice touch and some unique vibes in his playing.
Those licks are classic BB King.
@TexasTornado187 yep!
Because this is BB’s “How Blue Can You Get”
@IT'SME Well, there is a Univibe....
I love how he always grins when he plays the T Bone lick.
12 minutes of heaven.
Kirk is such a versatile guitarplayer, doing his own thang but not shy of showing his influences - love that attitude !
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
Kirk is one soulful being!! He sounds like BB king, Joe Bonamassa, Jimmy Hendricks, Chuck Berry, and more. But, he has a style of his own . Keep on keeping 💯 on!!!
Jimi Hendrix, my friend
Fender Man Approved!
Kirk is one of the nicest most joyful people on earth ... When he's playing, he's one of the meanest!!
Kirk is awesome ..beautiful man .
Wait for it... wait for it... wait for it... 🔥 🔥 🔥
Now That's BLUES
Kirk is an amazing player and a sweet heart as a person......

What pedal is he using in the second song for the Trower sound? Univibe?
Dude I was just thinking that!! Do you know the name of the tune?
Any of you guys know where i could find a backing track in that style and by who ? Absolutely insane
definitely Trower Power vibes there !! fire!

Hello Mr Fletcher Elder Anthony Williams here.Imy family and I use to attend your dad's church. So proud of you.
I love to here Fletch on a Strat.
That's as pure as the blues can be played, bro. You got a new sub.
Kirk is a real favourite, such an authentic player. Total quality
This man is well versed in his influences and has his own unique style & tone. Can tell he’s listened to Band of Gypsie once or twice.
Finally s.o. that sounds like B.B.King.
Kirk is nothing short of amazing!
A real HAPPY 49th Birthday to Mr. Kirk "Eli" Fletcher and really ALL the best to him ... (2024-1223)
Every note played with such expression and control. Mission accomplished

Very tasty chops, Brother! Been playin fer many decades, an can spot th Real Deal! :-) Lookin forward to more of yer music.
Such a clean tone. He's not hiding behind anything because he's a blues master - he's been to the crossroads i bet.
The Blues is king !

Sounds like B.B., nice touch here, great vibrato!!!
That was something I had to hear twice. 👍
The finish on his guitar is spectacular!
Let's not forget that Robben Ford influence coming through 😉
Holy smokes! That's some blues. I don't think I've ever heard anything like this before. That second tune. There's a little Hendrix in there and a lot more.
And some BB King too, actually a lot of. I love IT. I too play blues at my guitar 🥰
First class! Couldn’t be better.
❤❤when I was learning I would listen to pirate radio and also radio stations that played early 1920-1930 blues and just practice all day long xxx
Kirk's timing is impressive! Awesome video!
I got to see him jam with his older Big Walt. I wish we had camera phones back then. They both showed out. And they can funk too.
6:44 love the look on the drummers face. Kirk is the man! Killer blues all around.
Very nice, finally a player who doesn't sound like SRV.
It's that AUTHENTIC "Old School" Blues sound that Kirk brings from his very Soul!
Loving this guy’s sound. Very moving.
Though, I truly wold like to hear someone who sounds like SRV. Please do share.
@@tunetwistai Well Philip Sayce and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Well their guitar tone and a lot of licks are very similar
No, he sounds like BB King.
Millicent Bystander Eric Tessmer mid 2000’s
This sounds like prime-period BB King! I've seen Kirk with Joe Bonamassa, so it's nice to see him front and center. Missmoke delivers the goods again!
Smooth playing, tasty licks and he makes all the faces that come with playing the blues, just right.
(Old Chicago Blues Guy...) thanks for sharing this, makes ya feel good, video
And amazing Travis Carlton on the bass... One of the best young bass players today.
Travis is absolutely the BEST!!!!
And thank you for these...
Ugh he just slays every time.
Damn Good Stuff! 👍🏼👏🏼
Man Kirk living pt. in Europe agrees with you. Looking strong.
Obviously Kirk is killer, but that drummer has awesome dynamics. Loved his feel during the beginning of the solo, so quiet, so full of restraint. It’s drummers like him that make it easy for us guitar players.

Bb king style perfect 👏👏👏
One of my go to guitar influencers at the moment. Totally inspirational!
Chick in the back is seriously reconsidering everything in life.
Besides the BB King style I also hear a bit of Freddie King with that sweet Texas sound...
Nice tune, well done. Keep making videos, sounds good!
On my way to the Crossroads Guitar Festival and he should be on the bill.
Thank you Kirk🎸🎸🎼
