how is it that the home theater seating in the videos I've bee watching looks so nice and appropriate, and the selection in the local shop is...hideous might be giving it a compliment.
Thank you Thank you Thank you this was 100000000000% helpful. Hands down the best video for setting up a home theater I've seen so far. You helped me with a lot of questions I had plus information that I never thought about.
Love the vids mate, keep em coming. You're right about Klipsch in the US, seem like crazy cheap prices there compared to Australia. I'm still pre-planning my build, considering going Krix in-walls as they're reasonably priced and locally built in Adelaide.
Thanks mate, super pumped I’m getting a lot of Aussies joining the channel finally, my whole audience has been USA and India so far which is amazing but great to see some more local traffic! I’ll have to check those out, I’ll confess I’ve not heard of Krix before but you say locally built. That sounds interesting... thanks for info!
@@BuildMontage definitely check them out. Krix made their name in Australian commercial cinema and now have a solid track record in home cinema. My plan is to go Symmetrix in LCR, Ecliptix for surrounds and Hemispherix A20 for Atmos. With your budget, if you decided to go with Krix, I'd go with Epix for LCR. Undecided on subs, probably DIY.
Sounds solid man. Consider joining the discord channel, we are growing nicely and sharing photos and builds. I’m also doing subscriber showcase videos as well once per month!
Chris Morris thanks man, they are Sentinal Recliners from a local furniture store in Australia but I think you can find them on Ali express from the manufacturer direct :)
So, almost generic these days going with the Klipsch setup! So many better and cheaper options out there, it's just Book Cover shopping! Don't get me wrong they're not bad speakers, Power, damn, just 20A, Here in Aus, you should be recommending (3) 15A circuits into your setup! Lighting is awesome, good choice, way better than Phillips! Key thing about sound and Acoustic treatments is the GOLDEN RULE REDUCE YOUR NOISE FLOOR! For the best Dynamic range possible, and appreciation of quality!

Awesome, I learned a lot. I am in the process of building. I will have amedia room upstairs pre wired. I am debating on allowing a vendor to install the equipment or, me doing it myself
If it’s pre wired half the job is done! Depends on hot “handy” you are though I suppose but this hobby is never ending so why not dig in and give it a go!
That is the direction I am think of going. The vendor is Home Pro and I am not happy with there standard package. They only want to give me three media runs in a five bedrrom house. The only area I fell chellenge in will be the screen. any suggestions. Do I attempt to do it on my own or pay someone?
Raphael Washington the trick is to get the projector mounted first so you can make sure everything lined up, and to install it you will need two people. But it’s all doable diy. Good luck! Jump on my discord server if you like to learn more. Links down below.
@@BuildMontage You mentioned that it's best to have the rack located in a different room. I will have a closet in my media room with shelves. I want to install a free standing rack with a patch panel for my cat five runs throughout the house. Is the closet a good location for the rack?
Just came across your channel, and great that your from aussie too, just want to know for your 2nd row seating how much space do you have between front row? Just building my HT with a builder and want to know what will be ideal length. Thanks

I have a 3 season room ( basically an enclosed porch) that's an add on to the back of the house. I was thinking about turning that into a home theater room. I do have neighbors on both sides on me and across the road. Should I do sound proof insulation behind the walls or just do some acoustic treatment on the walls? I don't want to bother any neighbor if the sound is to loud
There is sound containment (inside the walls/walls themselves) and sound treatment (acoustic absorption panels and diffusor panels) - both are important, but personally im more concerned with treatment than containment.
Justin Giesen I thought I mentioned auro3d. I’ll have to rewatch or maybe I mentioned in another video :) thanks for letting me know! Do you have Auro3d?
@@BuildMontage I'm building my home cinema little by little. When the time comes, I will choose a speaker configuration that supports all three sound formats. Great guide I currently have a standard Ceiling mount prijector and 115inchn screen and looking at going to ultra short throw. Is there a guide for unit placement vs screen size or do each manufacturer have their own setup. I ask as my main screen has a split system AC unit above it and I fear that this may get in the way of the top of the screen depending on the ultra short throw
@build montage, can we directly connect two/one powered ceiling speakers to pre-out zone 2 in denon avr? Or we still have to buy power amplifier to connect to pre-out zone-2?? Kindly note all self amp speakers of my receiver are equipped.
It depends. I have the Denon x8500h and which is 13 channels powers, or 15 channel processed with 13 channels powered and if need a 2 channe amp to add the extra 2 speakers which could be front sides or Height 3.
Perfect! I bought a new house that will be built by Thanksgiving and there is a 2nd master bedroom over the garage that will be my HT! Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us :)
I was trying something different for this one as I always do CTA early and so far it’s my best performing video in first 7 hours by a long shot :) I’ve been consuming lots of vids on the topic. You may be right though. I’ve had over 30 new subs since I went to bed.
The missus said to me the other day..... let me get this straight. You spend £1000 on speaker cable cables because you can "hear the difference," But you can't hear me calling you from the kitchen ? 😳
That's a great question, off the top of my head, I'd say no - my experience is BT is quite limiting due to the bandwidth restrictions - BUT - if you can be more specific, I can try and find out for you!
The BestBuy technician went to my friend’s place to set up his new LG Nanocell 90 series tv with a YAMAHA receiver. Both support Dolby ATMOS sound and he’s using a Klipsch ATMOS speakers. The technician connected the tv audio out to the receiver through Bluetooth and my friends believes he’s steaming the videos, recorded in Dolby ATMOS sound through his speakers. By my knowledge Bluetooth doesn’t support any kind of Dolby Sound or DTS if is not through HDMI cable.
Can you confirm or add something about this matter? I need to show my friend that the technician was wrong on his choice of passing the Dolby ATMOS signal through Bluetooth connection.
Second video tonight. Just subscribed, great info for beginners and those looking at slowly upgrading. Great work. Joined your discord too Haha at ask the wife cost me $6k NZD for a 5.1.2 which she was ok with for now 😂
I see an issue straight away with recommendations of 7.2.4 setup. I live in UK and the links are not supported for the UK for 7.2.4 setup. Therefore, what to recommend if you cannot get the 7.2.4? It's all very well stating about recommendations and going by making errors but at the same time it seems I can't get that recommendation hence, it be a big no, no for me. It seems great if you live in America or Australia but for UK market it's totally weird that you cannot get that system setup.
Um... you certainly can get 7.2.4. I’m launching a room tour tonight (4 hours from now) from Leeds, UK and he has a 7.2.4 setup. Why do you think you can’t get 7.2.4?
@@BuildMontage I checked with Google, and the links and Amazon.co.uk states the speakers are not available. I went to Google and it was showing me 7.1 only. Richersounds do not have this setup either. I saw a price of £3,000 but not 7.2.4 hence, to me, it doesn't seem possible, or am I missing something?
7.2.4 is just a configuration. You can get any speakers you like as long as the receiver can process/power 11.2 channels. Do you mean the Amazon links I have in the video? Those are there for people to check out but doesn’t mean you can’t get 7.2.4 in the UK, you most certainly can, it’s just a speaker configuration.
Great video. I do have a comment. You kept saying cropped when speaking are screen aspect ratios. That is wrong. The image is not cropped in any format. Which is why you have the black bars on the sides or the top. Using the word cropped implies you are losing some part of the image which you are not.
pgreen0001 very true, the pains of trying to get your thoughts out while recording I often watch myself saying silly things on recordings... I’ll get better as I make more vids :) thanks for commenting!
Build Montage you are doing better than most and I’m catching up on your videos now. Keep up the great work! I have a Lumagen so those pesky bars are not an issue. Lol

Hey build montage would u be able to tell me if between Yamaha denon and pioneer elite receivers which one is better and models of rx a780 x3600 and vsx lx304 thanks
hello buddy, do you think projector is good enough in a 9.6 feet width wall ? If so do you think sony sxrd hw65es full hd is still good enough in 2020?
One of the cheapest ways to acoustically treat your walls is using heavy curtains. If you look at any good theater you will find that curtains always cover the foam panels. With respect to Atmos speaker placement SVSound.com has a much different philosophy for surround sound placement with their Elevation speakers. I'm now in the process of redoing my HT and I'll be using a bookshelf arrangement for front and center, Elevation surround speakers (4), and 2 PB1000 subs, I already own. I do agree with you that you are definitely too close to the screen. Is that a JVC projector. I actually thought of a projector but since many TV brands are huge these days I decided against a projector. Your tips are well done and should be helpful to any novice embarking on building a HT room.
mikem mikem agreed. Curtains would be great, I have to add some over my shutters but I have in walls so I can’t cover them which is annoying. I’ve looked at the svs elevations. Very good reviews but I haven’t heard them personally. Klipsch do something similar but I like the stealthily look of the in walls too. Thanks for commenting :)
I've a friend who has in-walls. His fix was very dark sheer curtains that worked very well for him. However, his speakers were all black, as opposed to the Klipsch.
Very nice processor. One day, I'd love to go emotiva for processing and also power all my speakers through external amplifiers instead of just two. Thanks for sharing.
I personally don’t think 8k will become the standard as it’s impossible for the human eye to recognize 8k quality. Therefore it’s quite pointless. Plus studios are just now diving into their catalog and creating 4k transfers of older movies. IMO, but awesome video. For sure a dream room like yours I’d love to have one day!
Thanks Alex - I remember this debate back when 1080p was becoming a standard, and then again when 4K - so I can only imagine it's going to happen regardless. You have mirrorless cameras like the Canon R5 shooting 8K raw in body now - so I think its a sure thing. Needed? Maybe not, but I think it will happen none-the-less :)
Build Montage thanks for the response. Super awesome of you go do. And deff see you’re point there. Should be interest to see what happens. Like I said though, hope to you a set up like yours one day and will for sure use this video as a reference. Learned a lot of new things. Thanks!!
You skipped over more important first steps. Sound "proofing" the room (or technically "sound containment"...so you could watch at the volumes you want an not wake the baby in the next room. Then there's the in-room "acoustic treatments" (some guys DO make an effort...I'd say 20-25% of home owners...rest ignore it). Making sure there are no "hard surfaces" (e.g. glass from windows or sliding doors, hard surface floors, exposed drywall) THEN---worry about the electronics/seating. Most just focus on the electronics and seating. They don't have a good plan of action.
Build Montage Klipsch are very popular speakers that are associated with quality, but they have a very distinct sound that is not for everyone. I think a lot of people buy them on name without listening to them or knowing what sound they like. I’m not knocking them because it’s very hard to go out and listen to speakers before you buy them.
@@richardsmith1161 I agree with you, you have to like the way horn sounds. I had the opportunity on many occasions to listen to Klipsch speakers before I bought mine. I listened to a wide variety of speakers and ultimately settled on them. Klipsch is a very polarizing brand, people seem to either love them or hate them, no middle ground. I also like KEF and Monitor Audio, and both of those were contenders as well. I certainly didn't just buy because of Klipsch. Truth be told, I ask most people here in Australia, they haven't even heard of Klipsch outside of anyone thats into this hobby :) May I ask which speakers you are partial to and why?
@@BuildMontage I went with ELAC Unifis like a little more warm of a sound and a wide soundstage. For surrounds I went with Fluance signature bipoles and Polk cellings. I don't want you to get the impression that I'm knocking your choices, I bet it looks and sounds great. I guess it's different where you are, but in the US when you walk into a certain Brick and Mortar store you are bombarded with Klipsch.
Sound like an interesting combination of speakers. I was sitting in my theater last night watching Snowpiercer which has Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and it sounded absolutely phenominal. It's a 7.2.4 setup. I know Klipsch has been accused of being harsh, but I honestly couldn't be happier with them. I do have two monitor audio in walls for my side surrounds due to cavity depth and Im considering monitor audio as well for my upstairs lounge room. I appreciate you commenting. I generally like to ask someone why they comment the way they do if it's contrary or I don't understand it so I can learn and grow from those who know more than I. :)

great setup. did you do any calculations for sound reverb for your room? If yes, can you share how did you do it. thanks.
your videos are packed with great information. Ty
Thanks for watching the channel :)
Krix Epix, you could think of as LCR in walls.
I have the similar Neuphonix / Epicentrix
I’m actually looking at Krix to upgrade my whole system!
Man jump on our discord. Love to chat with u about it!!
how is it that the home theater seating in the videos I've bee watching looks so nice and appropriate, and the selection in the local shop is...hideous might be giving it a compliment.
Which shops are you looking at?
Most great projectos have no keystone correction so projector-placement should come higher in the priority list
Thank you Thank you Thank you this was 100000000000% helpful. Hands down the best video for setting up a home theater I've seen so far. You helped me with a lot of questions I had plus information that I never thought about.
Awesome! Glad it was helpful!
I want to start my journey for setup home theatre.
Check out my channel page, I have heaps of videos that could help you on your way :D
Say hello to Brazil 🇧🇷. Great work.👍
Greetings from Australia!
another awesome video thank you mate.
hey great video, but i think your jvc projector link opens up a sony page
Awesome. Got all excited about your Amart recliners and then saw they were in Australia 😬
Just found your channel, and I've already learned so much. Thanks!
I'm learning every day as well with this hobby :) Thanks for stopping by!
What home theater chairs are in this set up? They look pretty nice.
Excellent Video 😍👌🏻! Superb Presentation Mate 👏🏻! Cheers 🍻!
Appreciate u making such detailed video
Glad you liked it
Hi Tony, I was going to build my home theater..and boy, am I glad to have found you...10k usd budget should cover for the build.?
Madhur Kaicker hey there, it all depends on what you pick. I’m working on a video for a 5k budget so it all depends :) join our discord server so you ask questions to the community. Links in description.
Check out the 5k USD budget video released last week. Hope it helps! ruclips.net/video/5HU2P_WQ4sQ/видео.html

You mentioned that it's best to have the rack located in a different room. I will have a closet in my media room with shelves. I want to install a free standing rack with a patch panel for my cat five runs throughout the house. Is the closet a good location for the rack?
Raphael Washington yes I think so. Just have to try and keep it well ventilated if you can. I have mine in a closet but I have aircon duct in ther
Fantastic video
I built a 15ft geodesic dome. I didn't plan anything before deciding on shape for the building. I now have no idea what I'm going to do.
Just came across your channel, and great that your from aussie too, just want to know for your 2nd row seating how much space do you have between front row? Just building my HT with a builder and want to know what will be ideal length. Thanks
Hey Chong, join the Discord chat if u like - happy to chat with u about it (link in description) and the riser I have is 1.8m so plenty of space between the two rows even when fully reclined. Hope to catch u on discord :)
Please advise for badic level if all in one blueray systems are as good as amp seperates?
Hello sir, I like this video...very good information...I am from India in kerala....I search how to build budget theater in my home....I can get some information from your video...but Somany doubt have...If you help me about budget home theater information...how to select spaeker, avr and what ever it is....my english very poor...now I am working in kuwait...covid 19 problem we are lock down here...thank you..have a nice day..
Hi there, great questions. I’ll be sure to add to my list of videos to make on budget home theater! Stay tuned!
@@BuildMontage hai...good morning...I am very happy to see your replay.....Thanks sir....
Check my channel for budget home theater. I made video last week.
Great video. What AVR are you currently running?
Thanks! I have the Denon 8500 there now - check my updated room tour on the channel page.
New subscriber here! Really great information and detail. Looking forward watching the new videos.
🙏🏻 thanks :) lots more coming!
I'm not seeing link mentioned for building own movie poster acoustic treatments

Hi. You have forgotten the format auro 3d. Honestly I really like your content, so go on what you are doing.
Best regards from Germany
Justin Giesen I thought I mentioned auro3d. I’ll have to rewatch or maybe I mentioned in another video :) thanks for letting me know! Do you have Auro3d?
@@BuildMontage I'm building my home cinema little by little. When the time comes, I will choose a speaker configuration that supports all three sound formats. Now I have the klipsch rp 280f in my living room and in my bedroom i have the klipsch rp160m, so two seperetly stereo set-ups, next step is to buy next month the marantz sr7013 and so on until i got my system complet. Sorry for my bad englisch.
Sounds like an amazing setup you have!! If you’ve seen my videos before you will know I LOVE Klipsch... my favourite brand. Best wishes from Australia.
@@BuildMontage So that you don't have to watch the whole video again. At the beginning you mention auro 3d at 02:20, I just meant your addendum at 19:00.
Thank you 🙏🏻
What size is your room? I have a 9 x 10 ft room I’m starting and I struggling to get a bulb normal throw projector so I’m forced to get ST or UST
My room has undergone some changes since this video - my room is 3.6m wide x 4.6m deep and 3m high (not sure of feet and inches off hand)
Jvc projector link in the description is wrong
Oh, I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for letting me know.
In that case a standard ceiling mounted projector may be your best bet.
@@BuildMontage yep that's what I gave ye olde JVC HD950 thanks and love your setup
@@alekz1958 thanks it’s changed a lot since this video :)
Thanks for the links too. VERY helpful! Thank you!!!
Sounds great!
Now that is an intro ;)
It was short but a lot of fun to make!
One thing I noticed. Maybe make a call to action earlier on in the video (subscribe,...) I know you know the retention is at the start the highest.
That's too funny!
Great video, thanks for all the information.
Glad it was helpful!
Is it possible to send Dolby ATMOS signal to a receiver using Bluetooth connectivity or only through HDMI cable?
Great work.
Joined your discord too
Haha at ask the wife cost me $6k NZD for a 5.1.2 which she was ok with for now 😂
Hey mate I hear you! Good she’s on board with it now :) I’ll catch you on discord. Small community but growing it slowly.
Hello, great video! What are the dimensions of your home theater?
I have a small space, it's only 3.68m wide by 4.68m deep with 10' high ceiling, with a sunken floor and raised podium/riser at the back.
Is this a different theater than your setup with the KRIX speakers?
Same theater different time.
@@BuildMontage I currently have a micca 5.1 setup it sounds amazing but every since ive seen your klipsch setup with the RF speakers Ive wanted them
Nice! Upgrades are always fun
Lol
pgreen0001 🙏🏻 thanks, always learning and growing with every video :) wow nice processor. High end.

Hey build montage I saw I went with Klipsch subs with your Klipsch speakers in d old video how come u didn't use a svs sub instead alot of people are running down svs more than Klipsch why is svs subs better
Mostly because svs are super expensive over here :)

Hey build montage is pioneer elite with imax enhanced a good receiver and is mcacc better than audyssey n ypao
Hey build montage mate r u using a pioneer elite receiver which one
hello buddy, do you think projector is good enough in a 9.6 feet width wall ? If so do you think sony sxrd hw65es full hd is still good enough in 2020?
Srikanth hey buddy, I prefer projector for a dedicated theater even if it’s small over a TV but the TV may need an upgrade to 4K.
Build Montage I am thinking of LG c9 65 what do you say?
OLED is nice. Gorgeous picture and black levels. You can’t go wrong.
Build Montage ya, but also thinking of projector to get an idea.
Does anyone know any video projectors - NOT MADE IN CHINA?
love the video .....new sub...
Look at the emotiva RMC1...
Very nice processor. One day, I'd love to go emotiva for processing and also power all my speakers through external amplifiers instead of just two. Thanks for sharing.
Didnt have the guts to tell on that one
Thanks!!
Appreciate you taking the time to comment :) jump on our discord server if u like. links in the description.
noine-noine!
5:05 That's what she said
haha yep - that went over most people's heads :)
So your total cost was over $30000
Ive lost count actually. Since this video I ended up redoing my theater again >.
Forgot the 1st step going through the wife. 😀
pooter4e it’s nice and warm under the thumb :)
I wonder how many people buy Klipsch because of the name without actually listening to them.
Can you elaborate on why you came to this conclusion?
There’s no point in 8K anything lol, your eyes can’t even tell the difference between 8K & 4K
Not sure I agree here. People said the same thing about 1080p.
Your audio is horrible
For this video, it was very early on in my RUclips career - I've upped my game since then :)
