He knows that doesn't happen very often... still long way to go! very well played, when you play the top dogs you gotta finish them because if you give em a break they will finish you!!
boring. Not someone worth following or who will bring money to tennis. He will always be the guy who beat Carlos when Carlos played waay below his best. yawn
...no winning titles, nobody knew who he was a couple of days before. If you don't like the sound of an athlete pouring his soul into every shot to the point of grunting, then maybe watch chess instead.
Botic’s story is truly inspiring! Going from almost retiring to beating the guy who won the french open and wimbledon this year back to back in 3-sets is amazing and definitely shows the power of sticking with something and never giving up. Props to Alcaraz, even though he hasn’t played his best tennis since the olympics, he’s still achieved a TON this year and from what I saw in the press conference, he handled this loss pretty maturely. I wish both of them luck going foward!

Carlos was still feeling the 2% gold medal loss. He needs to learn how to reset the mind like Sinner. Carlos is my favorite player but he has to manage his disappointments better.
I cant believe how humble this Zandschulp guy is. My sincere congrats. I wish more players were like him. He acts as if just won a veteran match in casual tennis club after beating one of the best tenis players in the world.
Жалко, что не видел игру голландца раньше. Вне зависимости от результата очень понравилась его лаконичность в перемещении и при ударе. Его поведение вообще для меня шок! Достойно для примера крикунам
Of course I am glad hé won as a Dutchman but Botic made Alcaraz look like an amateur, totally overpowering him. And not with gestures and pumping fists.
DVDZ played a helluva match from the look of it and made it as hard as possible for Alcaraz. Very well played match and they had strategy going in I'm sure.
are you thick? have you never watched British commentary? they are single mindedly obsessed with Andy Murray and that nobody Emma (who won one slam but I forgot her last name already)
That was an impressive performance. Alcaraz wasn't playing bad. He simply flustered by a guy who had all the answers. In a way, Botic played Alcaraz's game better than even he does. His calm throughout was equally impressive.
So funny people dont see alcaraz was either paid to lose or didnt have any wish to win. He did not use power at all toyed with dutch man and you think botic won it on skill.. sad story bro and draper just proved it was total bullshet and on no day in normal world this would happen. But we live in world of corruption and evil tendencies unfortunatelly.
Botic is truly an a amazing tennis player. Keep playing like this and he’ll be the US Champion with Novak and Carlos gone. But, Carlos needs to stop being cocky.
yeah, that was an insane match. Big Alcaraz fan but props to Botic for immaculate tennis. No fanfare or flash, all substance. Should be a top 50 if he isn't already
Creo que no había sido capaz de ganarle un set hasta hoy... Tres de golpe!... Un varapalo en segunda ronda que le dará que pensar a Alcaraz... Mucho más centrado en el juego, Van de Zandschulp se deshizo del español en tres sets... Saludos...

Players are overplaying the between-the-legs shot nowadays. Sure, it's entertaining but 8/10 times the shot is going out. Most of the time, they have plenty of room to play a regular shot and keep them in the point but instead, they want to entertain and wouldn't end up in the 'shot of the day' as well. Just keep playing "normal".
What a win for Botic as all the commentaries state.Alcaraz is such a super talented player with high IQ tennis but the first time I saw him play and the way he goes aftr ever ball to the utter most extreme although great for the spectators not great for the player as it is not sustanable. He can get away with that being so young just like I did but there are 2 outcomes if he does not moderate this as he ages and that is 1) injury and 2) burn out.He has to learn that he does not "have to" do this,it is like a madness to him.
Most players these days celebrate much harder winning a single point than this Botic guy winning a match against Alcaraz. Heck his team didn't celebrate that hard either. So refreshing to see.

How calm a person can be? Take a look at Botic.
Kudos!
How come that guy doesnt even shout after winning.. what a man…
Because his name isn’t Carlos alcaraz that’s why so he’s not gonna be hysterical like him😂
botic gives wawrinka vibes. no celebration, no grunting, just clean big hitting.
dont we all love upsets.. i have never ever seen a player so chill.. wow..
Dude went all out, those net approaches were 👌👌👌
Alcaraz was hittin those crazy baseline droppers too, this guy was just on fire

Wow! Amazing strategy and even better execution! Congrats to Botic❤
VDZ deserves this, guys been up and down psychologically
Sad he didn't show up in the next match,.Would like to see more of this guy~
Che classe. Che compostezza.
AWESOME PLAY! Well deserved win! Congratulations!!!
The fact that Botic won in three straight sets, makes it even sweeter.
Also love the commentators only talking about Alcaraz and don't showing any interest in other players: typical US-open commentary though

the silence after each botic point is embarrassing
Love to see Alcaraz splashed 😂😂

That backhand at 1:15 blasted straight down the line, past a ready and watching Alcaraz - how do you do that?
Nice to see Botic doing some Alcaraz crushing. Hopefully he will crush Draper in the same fashion!
Draper crushed him in 3

He didn't celebrate cuz he was so used to losing all year that he just put his head down and grinded out this win like a master.
After watching this match, it was unclear who was the GS champion.
Alcaraz said his match with Monfils was the worst match he ever played... I'm sure Monfils is laughing right now
