I remember this game started at 10:30 PM my time and me and my sister were watching this and we thought this will be done until 1 am. Trophy presentation ended at 3am and we watched it and supported the GOAT until the end. 🇷🇸

One of the best MS1000 finals ever... Djokovic had to hang in long enough till the blistering sun died down as the hours passed and then he could recover to give himself a fighting chance. Anyone could've won after the sun died down but Djokovic with unreal cojones to just edge it at the end. Carlos did unbelievable as well in coming back from that 2nd set disappointment. Both fought till the bitter end. In general, what makes this match-up so great is their respectively insane abilities of athleticism and not just retrieving balls out of impossible positions but doing something epic and damaging when getting those balls back to turning the points back around, let alone bring it back to neutral. It's one of the most insanely intense, well matched, near-identical tennis match-ups of all time.
Well it can't be greater than Fedal in Rome back in 2006, which was back when certain M1000 tournaments contested finals in a best of five, so that Fedal could have that epic...and i would argue the same for Djokodal matches in IW and Miami back-to-back in 2011, quality and intensity of both of those finals far extends anything from 2018-2024 era! Many final matches between big-3 members that went the distance were better than anything, that involved Sinner or Alcaraz during this era!

This was an insane match. Alcaraz coming of a historic win over Novak, breaking his 10 year unbeaten streak on the center court of wimbledon, and Novak having won both the french and ao that year trying to provce to Alcaraz that he is not going anywhere. Absolutely amazing. That on court interview was so funny too. Got me really hyped for tomorrow's matchup.
