The valedictorian at my sons school turned down an admit to MIT to take the presidential scholarship to Rutgers. After that he wound up at Cambridge then spent a year and a half at the Cern supercollider and he's now at Harvard for a phd. So the moral is it's just an undergrad degree it's what you do with the rest of your life that counts........
I've heard there is a lot of pressure and competitiveness to get into elite clubs at Harvard. The MIT fraternities have a selection process that is looking for a good personality fit, but there isn't much of a status difference between them. It's mainly a way to find a group of people you want to live with and interact with the most. A lot of other people want nothing to do with the frats, and that's fine too.
Indeed you're lucky to choose between these schools but I think the thought behind how you chose which school you're going to can be applied to any student :) thank you
Harvard has to keep its classes easier so that it’s legacy admits and athletes don’t flunk out. MIT does not give any preference in admissions to legacies or athletes.
I note that my children are legacies since both my wife and I graduated from MIT. While they certainly had a privileged upbringing and attended a top high school, none of them had a “silver spoon” or anything handed to them. All three had to do chores, and all three had part-time jobs in high school (full-time during the summer). While we paid for all necessities, if they wanted to buy something that they desired rather than needed (or take a trip with friends), they paid themselves from savings (or sometimes we would split the cost). We also told them explicitly not to expect to inherit anything for us. We provided them with the resources to get a good education, and they should be able to do well in life without a huge inheritance.
One last comment: None of my 3 kids got into MIT. This is despite the fact that all were top students at one of the top public high schools in the state. My oldest scored 1600 on the SAT, and the other two scored in the high 1500s. As I mentioned above, both parents were MIT alumni, but that did not help them at all.
Seriously, why is this even considered a big decision. All there are top schools, and you pick one that fits you the best. If he had chosen say UC Davis instead of MIT etc., then I would have liked to hear his reasoning.
@@TurboPacksexactly, which is why hearing the reasoning for that decision would be interesting. No one’s cares that you choose Harvard over Stanford and mit.

Hey Rishab. A little bit of an out of place question, but is it still possible to access the ACT practice test files? I purchased The Proficient quite a while ago and went to go access it to review ACT Math, but I can't seem to find them anymore.

Great vid Rishab! I was also making the difficult decision of choosing between Harvard and a few other top unis like Yale and Penn. Can't wait for next year, definitely made the right choice :) Roll Crim 🗣️❤️🤍

Praying this is me one day, HAVING TO CHOOSE between the best schools in the U.S.
World lol
Real
He didn't get anywhere from praying, he put in hard work! Everything you can do is in your control.
Imagine being able to pick between Harvard, Stanford, and MIT couldn't be me-
It is a personal preference, and Harvard University is not a better university than MIT or Stanford University.
You are right!!!

nah picking between mit stanford and harvard i wish bro 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hope you enjoyed your first snowstorm of the year. Between the three, how you describe yourself clearly fits Harvard best.
Indeed you're lucky to choose between these schools but I think the thought behind how you chose which school you're going to can be applied to any student :) thank you
And that’s why I made this video! Hopefully it’s helpful to future students-regardless of their options.

when you say legacy do you mean kids with a silver spoon in their mouths??
No, legacies are children of alumni.

You are already a genius that they need. You dont need them, ma sha Allah.
I'm a Stanford MD PhD and you can be successful going to any of the schools. Congrats
Grade inflation is great. It makes entry into graduate school easy.
How?

Yep!
I visited MIT ... 1000000% geeky nerdy universe
Soooo i understand the intended point of this video but idk how many people are going to need to choose between the top 3 colleges in the country...
Harvard is a great choice for pre-med!
I guess it was pretty obvious as you EDed to Harvard.
NOOOO I WANTED HIM TO GO TO MIT
1:14 and harvard isn’t nerdy
What is better, IIT or MIT
i think mit
MIT
MIT far surpasses IIT in virtually every aspect.
IIT has better students, MIT has a lot more of facilities, exposures and opportunities. MIT is a better institution.
MIT by far. Its disgusting to even compare the best IIT to MIT. I mean... most mid-tier US colleges are better than IITs
