@Takeshi hiraoka, Sonny (Will Sampson) was in over 15 films in his 12 year acting career before his passing in 1987, but the best picture he ever made, where he played the lead character was the Canadian film. "Fish Hawk", for which he won The Canadian Film Award for his stellar performance. That award was equal to winning an Oscar. Many people feel it was his best film, as he also felt that way. He liked how deep and complex his character Fish Hawk was, and how he overcame the demons in his life and found his own honorable truth. You may have already seen Fish Hawk, but if not you can watch it on youtube for free. It's worth your time!! You can also google Will Sampson paintings to look at some of Sonny's artwork. Will Sampson is my hero, and a credit to the movie industry, a truly very cool dude:-):-):-)
The great Will Sampson--a Muskogee from Okmulgee--is sorely missed.
Wakan Tanka Kici Un...
Great movie...great star....this could have easily been an awesome TV series...
An enjoyable film. I always liked Will, RIP. As an experienced outdoor person, I never understand how these guys never carry water, whilst out in the hills. No matter how cold, I still need water whilst walking over hills and valleys.
Excellent movie. Great actors. Never have actors such as these guys they were the best sadly missed. Love snows they played in and movies too. Vegas one flew over the coocos nest Magnum and chips.
This is the first movie I've seen Larry Wilcox acting other than chips. Larry Wilcox played officer John Baker.
It gave Mr. Wilcox, great training for working with Mr. Eric Estrada, on "CHiPs".
Watched chips as a kid old episodes of that would be great
@@darinmckillop5044 Do you get the "Charge" network? Where I live it's a digital substation and can be picked up for free over the air. They run old CHiPs episodes every weekday afternoon.
Awesome movie. They just don’t make ‘em like this anymore. RIP Will Sampson. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, this was filmed in 1977 same year I was born. Unfortunately Will Sampson died ten years later in 1987, he was only 53, he was an excellent actor.
RIP Mr Sampson.

Thanks for the info and i will definitely check that video out. It's nice of you to make a tribute video of Will Sampson, what a great way to honor this amazing and talented man that has been taken from us way too soon.
Damn child you make me feel old!
even though i remember the chief from other movies back then, this was my first experience with this excellent & enjoyable production when film was an art. thanks
I was in high school in Camp Verde when this movie was filmed. The cast was fun and very nice. Didn't meet Monte Marcum or John Hllerman, but Larry Wilcox and Will Sampson were delightful. Much nicer than the cast of Kingdom of the Spiders when they filmed later on that year.
Neat.
I knew Will "Sonny" personally-- he was a kind, generous, loving soul. I'm glad to see other people who know first hand what a great person he was!👍🤗
RIP John Hillerman, a great life well lived 🇺🇸✝🙏
Hi buddy
Absolutely.
Always thought he had the most seductive voice.
@@infonut very true. A slight drawl in a very educated voice. Very sensual
Though many think John Hillerman was British from watching "Magnum P. I." , he was born in Texas !.
"I am Ten Bears" R.I.P Will..
I fell in love with Mr. Sampson watching this movie. I sensed he was the same kind man in real life. Glad I was right. He had a beautiful face I will never forget. He left us too soon. ❤️😭
I had been looking for this movie for years now. Saw a glimpse of it on tv (in India ) for abt 10 mins many years ago but could not forget it and didnt even know the name of the movie or the actor. Now I found it. :-) Just remembered Sams face. Google searched Native AmericanIndian actors and found him.
Classic old movie AAAAAA+++++++thanks for upload cheers
Loved Will Sampson in Vegas and Poltergeist 2, John Hillerman in Magnum P.I., Larry Wilcox in CHiPs. Very good and talented actors. ;-)
Wonder if Will was another "victim" of Poltergeist. Ugh So many of the cast had untimely deaths. Very strange IMO.
Not to mention One Flew Over the Cukoo,s Nest
Outlaw nosey wells
White Buffalo, Fish Hawk
And Anthony Ponzinni, Ted Markland & Marianna Hill too. Just good actors, realy.
Looks like working with Will was not just a job, but an adventure!😀🤗
Great movie---and not even any swearing or nudity!!!
should be a lot more like it. It's the best way I know for Hollywood to get back to the REAL quality movies which were once made. Personally, I'd rather watch almost any movie made prior to the 80's.
Have not seen this before, but loved every minute of it. Thank you…
@@ginfrench3350 thank you, I will check it out
Great upload, thumbs up! Will Sampson has been in many awesome movies. His biggest was probably One Flew Over The Cookoos Nest with Jack Nicholson. He starred opposite Clint Eastwood in Outlaw Josey Wales. He was also a screen writer, producer and director. His is a distinguished career in films. Another good one was The White Buffalo.
How did I ever miss this one??? Great movie.. Old Higgins plays a "good" bad guy.
You remember Higgy Baby too from MAGNUM P.I. I say Magnum!
Excellent. No one could ever try a remake. 1977, a long tíme agó. Just enjoyable.
Am Scottish but back in the 1800s one of our clan Chisholm married a native Cherokee so am proud of the Native Americans, Scots had a bad time with the English for hundreds of years, we are still proud of who we are
Wish they still made movies like this. Great! 🇺🇸💪👍
I just love these old movies, there the best ❤. Never get tired of watching them
I really enjoyed this one.
No computer simulation as this was from 1977.
A perfect movie with a great actor 🤜🏿
He's one of the finest Native American actors of all time, I'm half Cherokee and half Irish myself, and my husband is British. ~♡PEACE♡~
realy got all the best didnt you
@ I'm blessed, yes, thanks so much, sir...
British that's just unacceptable LOL Kidding
Might be some German and Spanish in there as well.
Shame on you fer marrien' the enemy. Tioch faid ar la! I'm Eireanann and Cherokee. Ahhhhhh well my cousin married a damn Yankee.
This is a great nation, and most Indians are very patriotic.
My Father is dead. He and two of his brothers were active soldiers in WW II and the only reason they went into service was to earn money to keep their mothers land. Nothing patriotic about it. All three suffered from PTSD and turned to alcoholism, abuse, fighting, infidelity, and other dysfunctions. Never one penny of help from Uncle Sam.
@@gmanjordan4154 And you're buttsore because of the choices they made or that's just the way the world is and you're going with it?
This movie just reminds me of a different time. I was 15 years old but still somewhat innocent.
Wonderful and much appreciated by an old man. Please keep these coming Tudorhead
Never saw this one before. Recognized Will Sampson in the thumb nail. Figured anything with him in it, it's a good movie. Great actor, with other great ones, John Hillerman, Larry Wilcox...
As a friend of mine used to say, "he can put his shoes underneath my bed any day." Handsome man, lovely smile, excellent actor. He is missed.
I gotta brand new pair of shoes if you got the bed
Lol
He did......
This was such a good movie, I'd recommend it to anyone, wow
Great watch, I clicked because of Will/Sonny and was surprised to see Higgins and Steve Austin. John, Australia.
@@ginfrench3350 Thanks, I will check it out!
Cheers from John.
I miss these days, Life was a little slower in these way out areas.
still is in the way out areas
Damnation, what a great movie. An assemblage of some of the greatest tv actors ever. I can find no fault in this movie. A definite 10.
Absolutely love Will Sampson. Plus John from CHiPs
Wow..Another good movie! I saw Will 1st on Poltergeist II as a kid. A little documentary on Will Sampson popped up on my recommended list the other day. After the Documetary ive been searching for movies..Just watched Fish Hawk yesterday.
This was one I’ve never heard of before. Loved it. Thanks for sharing!
If you haven't seen Fish Hawk with Will Sampson that's another great TV movie
@@joespitler3929 He also was excellent in "Relentless diarrhea"
Glad to see will Sampson here. I've only ever saw him in cuckoo's nest.
But I came from Monte Markham and we'll stay for both! Thanks for posting!
Very enjoyable old film. Had never seen this one before.
Yes you did. You just forgot.
Thanks for sharing it! I always enjoy watching Great Old Movies though. 👍👌👏
An of course, I'm a subscriber!
Thanks Again Though.
Very good movie and plot. I am surprised because most movies of this era (1977) were very superficial.
Too bad they don't make good movies like this anymore ☹️
20mins in and I'm hooked!
Really enjoyed this, first time I've seen Will Sampson.. what a treat.
What a fabulous looking man Will Sampson was.
Thank you for posting this, excellent movie!
Love it,waaauh, everything seems real!!Wonderful actors,it's like each of them had an experience in the whole event!Would love watch more movies from Yu and same actors.
I lived and worked at the ranch that is shown in the movie back in the early '70's.
Thanks for the upload, 41 years later I get to watch it. Relentless aired as a double feature with the pilot movie Spider-Man on CBS 9/14/1977. I missed it because NBC aired " Night of the Heavyweights " boxing card which had Ken Norton, Jimmy Young, Ron Lyle & Larry Holmes all on one card, noway I was to miss those fights.
Larry Holmes was the man as well Ken Norton!
@@BarnabyBarry Yes Larry had one the best jabs, Norton powerful bodypuncher.
watching this movie for the second time i didn't realize what a good actor will simpson was and the others.thanks tutorhead.
A great movie, very entertaining ! Thank you for posting.
Good film. Takes its time getting started, but once it gets going its good. Will was in a lot of films, always in a brief role, but he is a good actor. Pity he never got any recognition. Thank you for posting
Will could do/say more with his expressions and his eyes than about any other actor I've seen. He will be missed!
Sweelen Simpson Agreed, he had recognition. Would have had more if he had lived longer. RIP
He was an award winning artist all of his life and would always say he made movies to pay for his art supplies. Most of his paintings are now with family and loved ones, or hanging in famous museums such as The Smithsonian Museum of Art. Yaa'te'eh my friend.👍
Now here is a movie that will keep you wondering what is going to happen next.
Lots of action. You will be on the edge of your seat.
A really enjoyable movie.
Pretty good movie.
Great character. Loved Will Samson.
