    For people that want the metadata to be correct note that modifying it in calibre won't do a thing since the conversion happens on KCC.
    There IS a way to add metadata though: you have to compress the volume folder to zip, then you change the extension from .zip to .cbz then you drag the .cbz files and not the folder to KCC then you click on Editor and you select your first volume (.cbz file), clicking open will give you a page where you enter metadata, in Series write the name of the volume (ex. One Piece, Vol. 82: A World Abuzz) and in author the name of the author, do that for each file then you can press convert and it will keep the metadata. (Do not make the mistake to import the .cbz to calibre, import the mobi)
    Concerning the KCC setting I would suggest to click on custom gamma and set it at 0.70 (I found this much better the eyes, less agressive)

    Why do you need to pass the file to Calibrate if KCC already made the MOBI file?

    • @frostytokes7427
      @frostytokes7427  8 месяцев назад +1

      Because calibre has its own directory. Just having the .mobi of your volume isn't worth much if you dont first transfer it to calibre and then send it to your kindle. Calibre is essential in sending your manga to your kindle, at least from what i know. After transferring your .mobi to calibre, then you can delete the .mobi that kcc made as calibre will save a copy to its own directory.

You can also manually setting the resolution of your device by choosing "other" in the drop down menu. the white page might have to do with the "spread splitter" option. • @frostytokes7427
      @frostytokes7427  Год назад +1

      hmm, the folders directory structure has to be correct in order for kcc to order them correctly. so all the images for chapter 1 would be in one folder (CH. 001) and all the images for chapter 2 would be in another (CH. 002) and so on and so forth (hakuneko should so this automatically). then put all those chapters (folders), lets say 1-7, into another folder (VOL. 001) to make a volume for that series, making sure they're in order so that the result will be a folder (VOL. 01) with all the chapters in order. refer to the section in this video called "kcc file structure" to see how i order the folders for the conversion. also check out the wiki for a more detailed explanation. youll mainly want to use the file structure named "TitleB" as title b will the the file structure used for splitting chapters up into volumes. github.com/ciromattia/kcc/wiki/Automatic-output-splitting

      For that youll wanna make sure you use the "spread splitter" option in kcc. theres 3 choice, just hover over the option and itll explain each one. This this only works for pages that are double pages already. like pages that have artwork that covers 2 pages. it wouldnt work for every single page. the only way i can think making it work for every page would be to find a scan of your manga where every image has 2 pages instead of the normal 1 page.

    • @frostytokes7427
      @frostytokes7427  11 месяцев назад

      pretty much any model of kindle should work with this method. even if ur kindle isnt listed, there is a "other" option in kcc that lets you input the exact screen resolution of your device. and with color; if you choose "color mode" in kcc, like i did in the video, then your final result will be your manga in color but only if i was in color to begin with. but since the kindle has a e-ink display then youll never be able to see those colors unfortunately. the only reason i do choose color mode is because ive noticed with it off, itll often make dark panels too dark. this is because by default (color mode off) itll add a grayscale filter to each image.

      Im so sorry for the late reply (works been busy). Ive never tried that so i wouldn't know how that works honestly. But u have to realize that your not sending books which are usually just a couple mbs. A volume of manga (in .mobi filetype) is anywhere from 50-300mbs. So transferring files that large, especially multiple volumes, would take drastically longer than using calibre. Also kcc conversion is meant to be the final conversion before sending it to ur kindle. Meaning they dont want you converting the file the kcc outputs because it could cause corruption (missing pages, incorrect page sizing, wrong reading direction). This is stated in kcc's wiki, albeit they warn against using the converter built into calibre. But its the same, taking your .epub and making it .mobi before sending it to your kindle. But like i said, ive never tried it so i wouldn't be sure. Personally id just recommend using calibre.

      Im so sorry for the late reply (works been busy). Install which application? Calibre and hakuneko are pretty straight forward installations. Kcc can be a bit finicky. U just want to make sure u have kindlegen.exe in the same folder as kcc.exe. so have them both in the same folder, or on ur desktop, or just leave them in ur downloads folder. And adding 7zip to path will help with using the built in editor but thats optional. I have a guide on how to add 7zip to path in the description of this video if you wanna proceed with that.

    • @frostytokes7427
      @frostytokes7427  8 месяцев назад

      its basically a text file that can launch commands. youd just want to copy the text for the .bat you want to use, paste it into notepad and save it with a .bat extension. itll turn the text file into a .bat file and then when you open it next, itll launch the commands you pasted into it. pretty straightforward, there's plenty of guides that go into more depth but that's the gist of it. just copy whatever .bat file you want to use from the pastebin in my desc and read the little description to know exactly what it does. lmk if you need more help 👍

      Mobi has a limit of about 300 mb iirc, so if your source folder is 300mb+ then your gonna get multiple .mobi's. Unfortunately theres no way around it. Thats just the limitations of the .mobi file type. Your best bet would be to find images with a smaller file size
