The stain looked very blotchy and Matt, very hard to get even coating on assembled items. Did you raise grain & resand before assembly including the legs? Was it varnish stain or just stain? Shellac is helpful at giving even coat of stain without blotching. But I think a full pastel colour paint or clear varnish best option unless you can improve staining before assembly!
I agree, I didn't like to finish the client wanted me to put this stuff on that was polythene and a stain mixture and I did not like it but the client loved it was not one of my best attempts of putting finished on, it's not the way I like to do it but. Thanks for watching.
You can use a 'pre-stain' that evens out the stain and prevents blotchiness a lot, put on and wait about 30min then apply actual selected stain, taa-daa, perfection. love the idea, love the base. I like to make my sizes 8/10/12. The cheaper ones at cheap 5 & dimes stores are just that cheap, use quality wood &/or thicker wood and problem solved with customers complaining on price, (like the successful multi millionaire sand salesman in Saudi Arabia: "yes, but you don't have sand like this!").
I must be honest here in the uk i see people trying to sell these kind of items on market place (facebook) and they seem to struggle, as the same thing keeps being said you can buy it cheaper in the shops. But my wife says the same for crochet items here in the uk its a struggle to sell for the time and cost of materials that go into making the things its a shame really. But loving your vids keep em coming
It was great the client that I made them for asked me to make another set of 12 the wedding rental company so I made pretty good money thanks for asking and thank you for watching
I do believe it was 3 and a 1/2 to equal a total of 5 inches. So that I could fit the right size candle inside inside. I don't remember the size completely. But I think that's what it was. Sorry and thanks for watching.
Nice!
I’d paint and age them, but the stain looks nice as well.
Thank you 😊
I preferer the stained ones, Awesome video they keep getting better!
Thanks man!
