Adar was beautifully depicted in the 'Rings of Power'. One feels a sense of empathy and sympathy with Adar striving to guide the Uruks or Orcs to safety and security and finally betrayed and killed by them.

Sauron was killed because of Adar. Adar was killed because of Glûg. Sauron killed Glûg because he didn't want a new Adar in Glûg. It's very simple

But the Uruks revolted against Sauron because Sauron didn't care about their lives. Killing Glug after Glug just helped restore Sauron to power would inspire another revolt, not acquiescence.

After around thousand years ( when Sauron still be a ozze and try to refrom his physically), their generation forget the dangerous of Sauron can be, Adal is one of first very Orc, patriarch of Orc kind ( elf got corrupted by Morgoth) so he has long lifespan, unlike his children will die by time, he know the threat from Sauron's domination

This is perhaps the most sensible single bit of the storyline . Adar was still not entirely corrupted. His motives FOR his “ children” seem to be out of at least semblance of love. The Uruks however, have been nearly fully corrupted, and can therefore be fully and completely fooled by and manipulated by Sauron.
Think about this . Are you, individually easily manipulated by being told that what you desire is the correct thing to do? Do you balk at doing the hard thing for genuine and lasting good ( not only for yourself but for others?) Is it possible that you are being manipulated to reject the difficult ultimately beneficial path in favor of a leader who promises immediate acceptance?

How can Glug think that Sauron would be a better leader than Adar?
Why didn't Glug believe Adar that he did not want the orcs to fall under the spell of Sauron? Isn't it completely and plainly and utterly obvious that Sauron worked for Morgoth, the very definition of evil and oppression of every single orc that's ever existed?
The motivation for having the entire body of orcs suddenly change their behavior from wanting to kill Sauron to want to be led by him is completely an utterly contrived. It is shown off-camera and is one of the most bizarre things that the series has done. All we are shown is like a one second clip of Glug standing there staring! He's probably going "are you guys really going to get away with this?"
The usual questions about Adar is why did he let Sauron go to Erigion? Why didn't he just kill Sauron (again) when he had the chance?
The idea of using an orc as a sympathetic villain seems kind of ridiculous to me. The idea of the orcs and Sauron and all the villains is to test the protagonists. It's not to make sympathetic villains.
Also we expect Adar to be a villain. So what are we shown to prove that he has some good qualities? The answer is none. He tells us these things but the episode does not show us these things. This is the mark of bad writing.

    • @annabizaro-doo-dah

Yeah I agree they needed to demonstrate that Orks are literally bred to be *in thrall* to the dark lord. I noticed their eyes started to glow the nearer they got to Annatar/Eregion/evil but they should have made more of that. It also would have made more sense for Adar to try and STOP them going to Eregion & the Orks go anyway since Halbrand had already corrupted/got in their heads. It would also explain Halbrand randomly going to see Adar eg really infecting the Orks already in mordor

    • @jjjjjjjj7n
      @jjjjjjjj7n 23 дня назад +2

Glug did not think Sauron was better. I think what happened was that Sauron kept growing in power feeding from the elves around him and the rings he helped to create. Remember Sauron is like a leech that will feed off the living energy of anyone that is near him. As he grew in power his second meeting with the orcs was much different than the first, he was much more powerful at this time, fed by the elfs he tricked, the rings, the chaos of war, etc, etc. I would say that what happened was that he got so much power that his influence as a dark lord took complete control of the orcs wills. They told Adar the truth “it’s too late” they were warning him even though they were already under the spell of the new dark lord, and by design of the first one, bound to follow

❤Amazon Prime has redeemed themselves from the craziness of season one. It was overly ambitious with multiple directors and multiple filming's at the same time that resulted in difficult pacing between action sequences, dramatic scenes, bumpers, and still shots. Editing struggled to piece all the scenes into a coherent narrative that is inspired by canon. but not bound to it. Season two shows that Prime is listening, watching, learning and adapting from our feedback. There will always be haters and trolls. If the complainers hate the show so much, why are they watching. They want attention, so don't give it to them. Let it go, Let it go. Let it go! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I agree, but tbf the only reason “fans” are upset is because they are comparing it to the quality of the original film trilogy which we know was an All-timer. If you came into the rings of power with an open mind it’s not as bad people want to make it seem. Especially once you get ok with the fact Amazon put their on twist on it instead of sticking to Tolkiens Canon lore for time and pacing purposes. Only negative would be the “woke” scenes. Do I think orcs wanted peace, yes but as the dominant race in middle earth. Also in the readings orcs have a dog eat dog aura around them so the concept of them building and wanting to raise families is hard to believe, but I understand the idea of trying to humanize the orcs with Adar and then them eventually going back to their barbaric ways with Sauron who seems them only as tools

@mieldor76, honestly, not a a whole lot more. Some scale would be the cherry on top for me. The armies don't seem large enough. The siege of Eregion was a let down for me. If PJ in 2002 with cgi could give us 10,000 uruk-hai at Helms Deep then surely Amazon with tech 22 years superior and a bigger budget can put a few thousand orcs in the background to give me that scale. Otherwise I praise them for the use of mask and prosthetics like the original trilogy compared to all the cgi orcs in the hobbit films.

Orcs didn’t want to follow Sauron, so they killed him and followed Adar. Then they kill Adar and follow Sauron? Makes no sense.
How did Sauron sense the orcs discontent with Adar when he wasn’t talking to them during the battle? How did Sauron turn them against Adar in a five minute conversation? Then Sauron kills one of them for reporting bad news.

They simply should not indicate this was Lord of the Rings or in any fashion Tolkien. This was not. That being said, I think if they had focused on the story of Adar, and did not tie this to any other existing written literature, this might have been better received. The only part of the story with any marginally decent writing has been Adar. If this really was Tolkien, they didn't hit the history well enough for most who watched the series to catch that Adar was an elf who had been corrupted by Morgoth. They barely brushed over the relationship with Sauron as to how he "took over" after Morgoth disappeared or was defeated.

Absolutely **NOTHING** can “redeem” this poorly written; illogical; poorly acted; utter BETRAYAL OF **BOTH** Tolkien’s carefully crafted, brilliant lore, **AND** of EVERY SINGLE **VALUE** Tolkien himself held dear….
THERE’S A CLEAR, INDISPUTABLE REASON ONLY 15% OF *RINGS OF POWER*’s ORIGINAL AUDIENCE IS STILL WATCHING IT: IT IS UN-ARTISTIC, INSULTINGLY BAD TRASH.

@@timmtec2565 , would that imply that I do NOT need God's help, then? You think too highly of me, if that is the case.
More than me, it's this show and it's shit writing that need God's help, because it's a giant shit stain on Tolkien's work and his faith.
