The Cybermen never stood a chance, they were built from 21st century Earth technology, while the Daleks were capable of fighting the Time Lords, the most advanced civilisation in the universe.
I loved that your reaction to the ending was basically identical to the Doctor’s- flood of tears followed by utter confusion. The Dalek and Cybermen face off was great- the Dalek’s have been in the show since the very first series in 1963, and the Cybermen since 1966, but this was the first time the two had faced off properly. I think the Dalek’s probably would have won that one without the Doctor being about. I remember when I watched this one as a kid we were on holiday and my dad had to dash me back to the holiday cottage to watch this while my mum and sister stayed at the entertainment pavilion because I couldn’t stand the idea of waiting a week and watching the recording when we got home. I watched it with my tenth Doctor action figure, who I refused to put down for the rest of the holiday and beyond because I was worried he’d get sad without Rose around. This might be why I got a Rose action figure for Christmas that year.
Oh my gosh, that is the most adorable story 😭😭 I'm sure the Doctor felt so much happier with you to keep him company! I'm quite impressed they managed to get out action figures so quickly, to be honest! I need to get one hehe 🤣
@julesreacts Oh yeah, the BBC jumped on the memorabilia and toy/action figure marketing right away post 2005. They did have a great deal of experience as they have been licensing Doctor who memorabilia since the 1960's. There were Dalek figures from one or two companies in the 60's, Dalek figures from a different company and Doctor and Cyberman dolls from another in the 70s, and then yet another did a bunch of (not too spot-on) action figures and a pretty good replica of the Tardis console in the 80s. Another company did some much better Dalek figures in the 90's Then when the show came back in the 2000's a company called Character Options got the licensing and has done a bunch of excellent action figures ever since. These days, you can find a Tardis, Doctor, Dalek, or companion figure pretty easily.
One of, if not the most emotional episode. Everyone crying at some point, and you catch yourself crying too. I remember my jaw dropping the first time watching, Rose was saying it's the story of how she died.
Even having watched this episode many times, the perfomances are still top notch. Hats off to Billie Piper in particular. There are still some amazing companions to come, but Rose is a fan favorite and not without good cause. If you didn't recognize the lady in the wedding dress, that is comedian Catherine Tate and she's not bothered.
Weird seeing how _young_ Tennant looks in these looking back on this season. We nearly got a spinoff staring Rose set in Pete's World before RTD thought better of it since it would have reduced the power of that ending. The woman portraying the Bride in the closing scene here is Catherine Tate, at the time best known for sketch comedy. You can imagine how nervous fandom was about the next episode due to that ;)
An important fact about David Tennant and Catherine Tate is that they're best friends in real life. Always 'round each other's houses. So we all knew they'd have great chemistry when we saw them together in this.
@@raphaelperry8159 In fairness, they also have said in interviews that Catherine being smuggled in to film the ending of Doomsday was the first time they met. They have great chemistry in everything they do together- I agree- but we didn't know that at the time. Catherine in Doctor Who was very much like Jim Carey in The Truman Show in that everything they had been in up to that point was comedy, so everyone was worried about their abilities to carry emotional scenes- only to be utterly blown away when they get their chance to shine. Donna Noble is (and always has been) my favourite companion and I'm exited to see Jules' reactions to her series!
It’s worth noting that in all the history of Doctor Who, since 1963, this was the first time that the Daleks and Cybermen, both iconic villains from the 60s, met and faced off against each other. That little hallway chat is so much fun. Now give yourself a moment or two to compose yourself for the romp that is the Christmas special. Often I’ve seen people binge the show and not allow time to process and recover from the trauma that is Doomsday’s ending, while we who watched it on first release had several months between. Still, your timing is impeccable, with the Christmas special coming just in time for Christmas this year!
Shortly after this aired the actor who played Dr Singh, Raji James, was on a podcast with his friends comedians Ray Peacock and Ed Gamble and they made so many jokes about Raji being sucked to death by a Dalek.
this is the episode i always wait for. even after all these years i still cry my eyes out. though i did forget this is exactly when catherine tate ((not revealing her name yet even though im sure you're farther along then this upload haha)) showed up but you're going to LOVE them together. it's refreshing to have a character like her around because of the sibling vibes they give off. she is my favorite companion by FAR
I love how much you love these characters. Ecclestone was a great introduction to the show and you loved him. Then Tennant comes along and all the emotions get turned up to maximum. And this is both the joy and the curse of this show. We keep meeting and falling in love with new Doctors and companions, but that means we keep losing Doctors and companions that we love. There truly is no show like it.
I love the illustration of what a difference choice makes in this episode. The Doctor was ready to give Rose up. He was prepared for that. But when she chose him and she got taken, it suddenly became much, much harder. Because it was no longer either of their choices. Re: Mickey and Rose, you're right. They aren't going back to being a couple. They have been there done that. But also, the Pete's World dimension does run faster than ours. Mickey has spent a couple years there, while for Rose, it might have been a few months since he left the TARDIS. You'll notice that there is no vestige of resentment in Mickey for the Doctor by these episodes. There was the last time he was around, even though he liked the Doctor too and wanted to travel for a time. But now, there's nothing but respect for the Doctor left in Mickey, and he is very much his own person. But he has also been through too much with Rose and the Tylers in general. He will always be as good as family for them all.
Ive always wondered how many people connected the Doctor's reaction to Rose's declaration of love to the Girl in the Fireplace, when the King of France responds to the Doctor's refusal to tell the king what was in the letter left for him by Renette. "Quite right," seems to be the go to phrase for people who are absolutely sure of their place in the universe.
I love this finale, it's so sad, but the fact that we get so emotional is because we've connected so much with the characters. Rose is my favorite companion for so many reasons. The first episode of the first season of "New Who" is titled Rose. Everything has been focused on her since the reboot. The fact that everyone is reunited at the end but Rose is still sad is also so powerful. She has her mom and her dad together again which is what she wanted, but it's not enough anymore to make her happy.
The Doctor laughing in the Dalek’s face and saying “the Doctor will not,” is probably my favorite Tennant move of his while run. 😂 Mickey’s face when Jackie said there was never anyone else is gold. My boy has had one of the best development arc of all nu whu secondary companions. And that’s usually how companions appear after the departure of one. They either start off as an ensemble and they leave one at a time. Or the doctor just meets a new person shortly after the departure of the previous one. Did like that Jackie got her family back though. And you’re hopes not all that foolish.
The whole Story Arc was build Up over so many episodes. Made every one of us Connect to the Characters so much. And this way is the most intense way to do a finale of a whole Story Arc. And yet making the most bittersweet ending possible. Rose has a Happy end. Reunited with her Family that broke Appart 20 years ago... And yet seperated from the doctor.😭 But the Cliffhanger is insane too. I Love Tennants doctor being completely confused. 🤣🤣
Saw this episode 3 times and it never fails to make me cry so hard.😢😢😢 I've been a massive fan of Billie Piper since I was a kid and to see her departure from the show broke me in half.
Such a wonderful finale. Great writing, so many emotions, such spectacular music, and one of the daleks' best lines: "You are superior in only one way! You are better at dying!"
It was fun how the Daleks and the Cybermen threw shade at each other, "The Daleks have no regard for elegance", (Cybermen)"Obviously." I get why the Cybermen didn't recognise the Daleks, but why wouldn't the Daleks know who the Cybermen were?
When this series first aired it was leaked several weeks early that Billie Piper was leaving the show. This was right before the Satan Pit had the Beast claiming she would die in battle. Taken all together we went into this finale not asking whether Rose would actually die, but wondering what it would be that killed her . The fact that she actually survived, even with this sad ending, was almost as surprising as the last minute appearance of the runaway bride. As for what's to come, I actually think the writers had only just found their feet; things get really interesting from here.
"What are you gonna do now?" "Same old life. Last of the Time Lords." "On your own?" "Why? Do you want to come?" "What are you gonna do now?" "Same old life. Last of the Time Lords." "On your own?" *nods* A nice little parallel there. It's even more hard hitting since the top exchange is from her first episode with this Doctor :(
This is such a sad episode, but watching your reaction has made me realise that it's actually a lot happier than it first appears. I have always loved Jackie and Pete's reunion and new start. Thank you! ❤
I'm so glad I found your reaction channel. I've seen this episode a few times now but watching you get emotional over the sadder scenes made me reach for something to wipe my eyes!
I've been waiting for this! Loved your reaction to this episode. The music score that plays when Rose and the Doctor are separated is just bittersweet. It perfectly encapsulates the mood because Rose isn't technically 'dead', but she's trapped in a different universe to that of the one the Doctor is in. Also I genuinely feel bad for Yvonne Hartman (the head of the Torchwood Institute). She had a terrible fate, and fought back against her conversion which meant she still retained her humanity. I wonder what happened to her. Because she technically didn't cross the void, as her conversion took place on our world so she didn't have background radiation on her.
Thank you 💜 I feel so sad for Rose, but at least she's not alone... she's with her family, the one she always wanted with a mum and dad. And good old Micky! It was such a sad finale 😭😭 two in a row, now!
@@jessicapatton6523 yeah, the implications have always seemed to suggest that it completely resolved the problem of Cyberman or Dalek currently on earth in that moment.
Hey, Juliette! One of my favorite things about this episode is how the Cybermen and Daleks are constantly throwing shade at one another😆 This was a special moment for the show because while it has always been apparent that the Doctor cares for his companions, (especially Sarah Jane) he had never used the "L" word before. Of course, he doesn't say it here either, but I think we all know what he was going to say😊 Just like "Doctors", companions come and go and just when you think that one can never be replaced, you'll find yourself loving a new one
My goodness, the goodbye was so heartbreaking 😭😭 When Rose said she loved him.... and then he really was about to say it back 😭😭 Sigh.... I'm still sad thinking about it! But you are right, I never thought I'd love another doctor as much as I did the previous, and I'm very happy in my Tennant era right now! It's something I love about Who. I can't quite believe how easy it is to love a new doctor or companion 💜
This episode aired the same week as the 2006 World Cup. Radio Times did variant covers of a team of Cybermen and a team of Daleks on a football pitch, the lead holding a football. Rose was for me the best companion for the Doctor, i was really sad that she left, 😢 But that ending 2 seconds later. What, What, What.🤭
Watching this in the summer of 2006, I was 7 years old, we’d only known Rose as anyone new to the show would, all those of my generation who started their love of the show with the show’s revival, our hearts were torn out that night. Rose was written as the post Time War therapy companion, the kind of person the Doctor needed to show him life and love and happiness again, so to see her go out like this, sealed off in a parallel world was devastating for everyone. Although from a writing perspective Rose as much as we loved her, had outstayed her welcome. The show needed new characters to take the character of the Doctor further, and you’ll begin to see that in the next season. This is a great two parter, maybe in hindsight ruined by the very easy solution of sucking the Daleks and Cybermen back through the Void, plus the bigger elephant in the room that this was the FIRST TIME in the show’s history since it began in the 60s that these two enemies had met and duked it out, something fans had ached for for years, and it was wholly one sided with not much shown of the battle between them. But it’s full of great singular moments, the Yvonne Cyberman who retained her last emotional moments always gives me chills seeing that tear run down the face (even if it’s physically impossible given that it’s not a human body in the suit just the brain but anywho), the Dalek’s lines about pest control and the C-Men being better at dying are utterly iconic in Doctor Who culture, Murray Gold’s Doomsday music (that you hear after the breach closes) is widely regarded as some of the finest music composed for a TV show ever, and the way the goodbye on the beach is handled is superbly done, strums all the heartstrings. Even if the high tear stained emotion of the moment is ruined by the sudden appearance of Catherine Tate haha Great reaction hun “Rose Tyler…I lo-“ 🥺😭
I knew this one was going to wreck you and you didn't disappoint. :) I love that at the same time as the ending is so emotional you also point out the positives - Jackie and Pete together, Rose kind of with her parents, Mickey being there as a friend. These are all good things. And yes, we all echoed your 'What' at the end when we saw it first. Thanks for your great reactions through this season, Jules. Looking forward to the Christmas special and then onto S3, it's quite the ride.
I forgot a lot of things about this episode because I'm a fan of Rose I think I just burnt it out of my memory, but now I remember having this feeling almost like going through a break up, just finding hard to get over her and thinking that it'll never be the same. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you'll love the next one, it's defiantly interesting.
Wow Julies. Thank you for another trip down memory lane with this old Dr who. Forgotten how well written, produced and acted were. Love your reactions. You will love the new assistant - Donna. X
I was both anticipating and not anticipating this one. RTD knows how to write one hell of a goodbye. But as sad as I was for Rose... there is something about that bride... LOL
This season 2 finale was so good. I haven't seen it in a long time and it was great experiencing it again. I think the good thing about your reactions is that I get a sense of seeing it for the first time through you, which has been amazing so far. I think it was smart that you took measures to avoid spoilers. The internet can be a minefield for them! The good thing about Doctor Who is that when one chapter closes, it opens up all sorts of possibilities for the next,. What better way to end the episode after so much sorrow than to start the xmas special with a teaser of a bride in the TARDIS! The way you kept repeating "what!" in confusion along with the bride cracked me up! I bet you're going to love the xmas special and I can't wait to come along for the ride 🙂
This show is really, really good at making sad endings into something that is not a complete tragedy. Rose doesn't actually die. She does get left, but she's with her friends and family, so it could be _much_ worse. Also, I didn't really notice the first time I saw this episode, but the haunting song that plays when Rose is lost (Doomsday by Murray Gold) is phenomenal and has become extremely popular in certain circles. It's even been used in parodies of shows that are unrelated to Doctor Who. Murray Gold does a good chunk of the music for Doctor Who (if not all of it), and some of his best work is still to come.
Excellent reaction, Julles. This is one of the things that keeps Doctor Who fresh, the changes in cast every so often. It's one of the very few tv series' that can, it seems, always survive such changes. Each change gives it slightly different feel to the series that keeps it fresh.
Trev 💜 it's always so lovely to see you. I hope you have been well! I cannot believe we are here at the end of another year. Honestly, where does it go?! I very much agree with you!! I never would have thought the constant change in main characters would work but it really does and I adore it 💜
This being my re-watch, and having already seen your Season 4 love for Donna, i love how you reacted to her at the end even more than i did the day you posted this on here.
As i re-watch your comments after seeing how teary you were believing that was the end of Rose, i felt guilty at the time for that, but i also don't like giving spoilers, and knew how happy you'd be later x
This is what I loved about Doctor Who at the end of it series. When something sad has happened, there always something funny than happened at the end to make you laugh even though you just been crying and then all of a sudden you’re laughing. 😂
You should watch the behind the scenes of doomsday, the ending scene is even more heartbreaking because once they call cut billie and david just hug for like a good few minutes and its so wholesome
Such an epic spectacular battle between the daleks and the cybermen but also such a sad season finale, u really do feel all the emotions between both the doctor and Rose and it’s truly heartbreaking every time u watch it, just makes this finale stand out even more. 😢 On a brighter note tho the Christmas special and then series 3 are both pretty good fun, looking forward to u reacting to them both. 😁
This isn't the first time Doctor Who has inflicted major emotional damage on us all, and it *certainly* will not be the last, but this was probably one of the bigger instances of it this far into the show. At least Rose is still alive, even if she's trapped in another reality. Plenty of other people have called attention to the amazing piece of soundtrack, Doomsday, by Doctor Who's composer Murray Gold, so I will too. It's incredible. It really captures the feeling of having to trudge on through loss and heartbreak, as Rose did here, and as the Doctor now must. Still, the show must go on. If you want something to cheer you up a bit after this, I'd recommend looking up "The B*tch Fight of Canary Wharf" by Joe Vevers here on RUclips. It's an even more comedic take on that first conversation/confrontation between the Daleks and the Cybermen.
The scene with the Dalek and the two Cybermen is commonly referred to as the bitch fight of canary wharf in the doctor who fandom there is even a fan made edit which is hilarious to watch
Told you something the beast said was true and to look out for it... Rose is "dead". "died in battle" of torchwood / cannary worf. I wouldn't just walk in to have my brain removed. but I love how she came back.
You'll learn as the different seasons come and go that Doctor Who has a habit of hitting you in the feels when you least expect it. But theres plenty action and humour mixed in so the journey isnt so depressing
One of the best eps. Such a great love story. So heartbreaking. This was Dr Who at its best. Rose was our anchor, connecting us to the real world, along with her family, who are so relatable. Rose Forever ❤
I can't take the scene of the Cybermen meeting the Dalek's seriously thanks to a parody video by Joe Vevers (he has spoilers so don't looking up I'm just giving credit) but here is the parody audio: Dalek: Identify yourself Cybermen: You will identify first Dalek: You will identify Cybermen: You will identify Dalek: After you Cybermen: Ladies first Dalek: Daleks have no concept of gender Cybermen: You have identified as Daleks Dalek: Bugger! That was clever Cybermen: The Cybermen are known for their cleverness Dalek: So you are Cybermen Cybermen: Bugger The Daleks fear no one but one single man. It's amazing. Love how Rose threatens the Dalek's. I just love how The Doctor wants to protect Rose by sending her away and she just won't accept it. She was prepared to give up her mother for The Doctor. Then she ends up losing him, I felt so sad for Rose, you could see how distressed she was. She was prepared to stay with him for the rest of her life. I love the callback to Bad Wolf. After all the flirting Rose finally said she loves him and then he can't say it back! It hurt my freaking heart I love your confused reaction at the end XD. A lot of people reacted the same way we were all crying and then like what at this random lady here.
The scary thing about those millions of Daleks: They are ones that were actively IN the Time War itself fighting the Timelords, so basically war veterans used to fighting much more powerful enemies were unleashed on humans and the Cybermen, they stood zero chance against even one of these beasts.
Dalek's vs Cybermen was pretty cool and this was a pretty good send off of the companion. Yeah, not really a huge fan of the Doctor being romantically attracted to...well anyone really but also keep in mind she's only at best 20 compared to him who is in his 900 hundreds.
Another season of Doctor Who done, your doing well, I’ll admit Rose isn’t one of my favourite companions of the new series, but her departure is always so sad to see every time I rewatch this. As much as I would’ve loved to see Rose and 10’s relationship grow more for another season, I knew Rose wouldn’t last long after seeing Sarah Jane Smith a couple of episodes ago. But haw-haw I can’t wait to see your reaction to my favourite Christmas special of all time, all I can say for you is “Get Ready For The Bride”
Btw uou realise at this point in the timeline, there is a young girl entering her early teens called Amelia Pond, still thinking of the raggety Doctor she met lol.
Happens every time... whether it's a re-watch, or even just a reaction video, the end of this episode breaks me to pieces! And every time, I let it... it's like a pressure valve that keeps the ole boiler from exploding by letting out a bit of steam, emotions need to be vented once in a while. ;-]
In the olden days, companions generally hung around for 1 or 2 seasons. Only 3 lasted longer than that - one being Sarah Jane. (Ok, and 1 other via a technicality). So, to "lose" Rose after 2 seasons felt pretty "right". As I noted last time, it was very very very rare for a companion to die, so the monologue at the start of this story about being the day that Rose died, and then faking it out, I was not thrilled... (Hence making my video linked in the other comment on this video.) This story though - WOW! Daleks and Cybermen. Brilliant, and bringing together numerous storylines.
You made it through! It's one of the more difficult episodes (emotionally) to weather, and we all have the same reaction (even after seeing it multiple times). Excited to see you start in on the next series!
I remember thinking way back when this new iteration of the show always tugged at the feels, but then I realized how it would probably make a career of absolutely breaking our hearts. Yeah, I was right.
Just a reminder that during their stay on the bitter pill while dealing with the beast in the pit Rose was told she would die in battle, so very soon. And after the battle of canary wharf she has been declared dead on our OG earth
The scene on the beach is the one we all remember so vividly, brilliant writing from RTD, David & Billie incredible, what a brilliant period this was for the show, and it only gets better. Who’s that bride at the end? Keep watching and find out😆
So much in this episode. But that bit where they sensed each other through the wall between universe…. So sad and beautiful. But the doctor is alien. Rise doesn’t always remember it. Not sure he could love her as she loved him. Can I say how awesome Mickey is? What a character arc he had. And in this one you can see he still loves her but knows there is no romantic relationship. So his love is even more true. How on earth did Russell Davies make me believe other Pete and our Jackie would be together? He did though! This was an excellent episode. This was a really good end for Rose. Beautiful and moving and “believable”.
Rose is on the other world, Doctor Who's emotional resonance has been cranked up to 11... No spoilers, but believe me when I say "Just you wait, cos you ain't seen nothing yet.". ❤
I'm American, all the accents are "some English thing." I'm told the Doctor's accent changed when he regenerated. It was "northern" then he mirrored Rose.
@julesreacts Im currently binging your reactions to this amazing show, and I have to say I'm LOVING every minute of it, can tell how hooked you are and can't wait for you to get further, keep being amazing ❤️
“Rose Tyler…” and with those words, SO many Whovians had heartbreak. By the way, this is why I told you to keep the Kleenex and chocolate chip on standby. I’m glad Rose left such an impression on you too. She’s probably number three or four among my favorite modern Companions. Yes, there will be more, but firsts and favorites linger. Yeah, Doomsday is an absolute ride! Daleks v. Cybermen with Earth in the middle. Really a lot of fun for a season finale, no? And yeah, what is coming next? You’ll see and hope you will enjoy.
This one killed me ... I am of course referring to knowing what you were going to go through and not being able to say anything about it. The thing is, we knew it all along, Rose loved The Doctor very deeply ... always has, and we ALSO knew that The Doctor loved Rose just as deeply. However, he was more prepared because none of his companions are forever, so he's danced this dance before. However, Rose AND Sarah Jane Smith were 2 very special companions, and he won't soon forget about either of them ... that's for sure !!! Just a little secret from me, "I" also loved Rose very deeply, and I cried as much for me as The Doctor did. At least, they both got to admit that they loved each other ... Even though The Doctor didn't get to finish it, she did, and he indicated he was going to ... and like in the game of Horseshoes, close still counts towards a win !!! I loved your reaction though and ... is it wrong that I always want to hug you in such times ??? I think not, so 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💗🌹 !!!

The Dalek and Cybermen face off was great- the Dalek’s have been in the show since the very first series in 1963, and the Cybermen since 1966, but this was the first time the two had faced off properly. Still, your timing is impeccable, with the Christmas special coming just in time for Christmas this year!
Oooh yes!!! How perfect is the next episode for this time of year 🎄🎄
Shortly after this aired the actor who played Dr Singh, Raji James, was on a podcast with his friends comedians Ray Peacock and Ed Gamble and they made so many jokes about Raji being sucked to death by a Dalek.
this is the episode i always wait for. even after all these years i still cry my eyes out. though i did forget this is exactly when catherine tate ((not revealing her name yet even though im sure you're farther along then this upload haha)) showed up but you're going to LOVE them together. it's refreshing to have a character like her around because of the sibling vibes they give off. she is my favorite companion by FAR
I'm a liiiiitttle ahead of this one but not too far! But I do appreciate you being careful 🥰
Ah, I love this! Very interesting to think about!
The Daleks and the Cybermen trash talking each other was EPIC! 🤣
That was so good 🤣
I love this finale, it's so sad, but the fact that we get so emotional is because we've connected so much with the characters.
And yet seperated from the doctor.😭
But the Cliffhanger is insane too. I Love Tennants doctor being completely confused. 🤣🤣
Saw this episode 3 times and it never fails to make me cry so hard.😢😢😢
I've been a massive fan of Billie Piper since I was a kid and to see her departure from the show broke me in half.
She's just been amazing throughout 💜
Such a wonderful finale. Great writing, so many emotions, such spectacular music, and one of the daleks' best lines: "You are superior in only one way! You are better at dying!"
this is not war, it´s pest control
It was fun how the Daleks and the Cybermen threw shade at each other, "The Daleks have no regard for elegance",
(Cybermen)"Obviously."
I get why the Cybermen didn't recognise the Daleks, but why wouldn't the Daleks know who the Cybermen were?
@@barkingmonkee because the old cybermen looked different....
THIS IS NOT WAR. THIS IS CYBERBULLYING!
I have never cried so hard as I did when I watched Doomsday for the first time. I still cry when I watch it and I have seen it quite a few times now.
I love how Pete's World is just excessively blue.
"What are you gonna do now?"
"Same old life. Last of the Time Lords."
"On your own?"
"Why? Do you want to come?"
"What are you gonna do now?"
"Same old life. Last of the Time Lords."
"On your own?"
*nods*
A nice little parallel there.
Rose and The Doctor were for me the best ever . and to see the doctor about to tell Rose he loves her and was cut off , had me in tears as well.
Sadly, I imagine she got sucked through. She may not have had background radiation, but the Cybersuit they stuck her brain in probably did.
@@jessicapatton6523 Ah, yeah that’s true. That’s sad for her!
Thank you 💜
I feel so sad for Rose, but at least she's not alone... she's with her family, the one she always wanted with a mum and dad. And good old Micky! It was such a sad finale 😭😭 two in a row, now!
I think the name of the song even is "Rose".... 😢
@@jessicapatton6523 yeah, the implications have always seemed to suggest that it completely resolved the problem of Cyberman or Dalek currently on earth in that moment.
Hey, Juliette! One of my favorite things about this episode is how the Cybermen and Daleks are constantly throwing shade at one another😆
This was a special moment for the show because while it has always been apparent that the Doctor cares for his companions, (especially Sarah Jane) he had never used the "L" word before. Of course, he doesn't say it here either, but I think we all know what he was going to say😊
Just like "Doctors", companions come and go and just when you think that one can never be replaced, you'll find yourself loving a new one
Rose was for me the best companion for the Doctor, i was really sad that she left, 😢
But that ending 2 seconds later.
What, What, What.🤭
I love that they gave us zero time to grieve 🤣
Even if the high tear stained emotion of the moment is ruined by the sudden appearance of Catherine Tate haha
Great reaction hun
“Rose Tyler…I lo-“ 🥺😭
I knew this one was going to wreck you and you didn't disappoint. :) I love that at the same time as the ending is so emotional you also point out the positives - Jackie and Pete together, Rose kind of with her parents, Mickey being there as a friend. These are all good things. And yes, we all echoed your 'What' at the end when we saw it first. Thanks for your great reactions through this season, Jules. Looking forward to the Christmas special and then onto S3, it's quite the ride.
😂😂😂 I love the ending of this episode, the classic David Tendant "What, what, WHAT?"
"This is not war.. This is pest control!" Yaaaaas slay queen etc
the actress at the end is Catherine Tate, she and David Tennant are great together. they did Much Ado About Nothing together.
The doctors scream when she is getting pulled into the void is so passionate
What an episode! An ending worthy of some tears, but at least she's got her family. And who's afraid of the big bad wolf? Little Red Riding Hood.
Oh Jules, I watched these seasons for the first time around 2 years back and you have no idea how hard I cried in this episode. I was HEARTBROKEN
When Jackie sees her ‘dead’ husband omg it’s incredible 😊
I forgot a lot of things about this episode because I'm a fan of Rose I think I just burnt it out of my memory, but now I remember having this feeling almost like going through a break up, just finding hard to get over her and thinking that it'll never be the same. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you'll love the next one, it's defiantly interesting.
Wow Julies. Thank you for another trip down memory lane with this old Dr who. Forgotten how well written, produced and acted were. Love your reactions. You will love the new assistant - Donna. X
“I’m burning up a sun to say goodbye…” 😢
😭😭
I was both anticipating and not anticipating this one. RTD knows how to write one hell of a goodbye. But as sad as I was for Rose... there is something about that bride... LOL
Over 15 years since I first saw this and it breaks me every time.
I never would have thought the constant change in main characters would work but it really does and I adore it 💜
One of the most emotional episodes.
I remember this episode. It was really sad.
"What the hell is this place ??!!" I can't wait for the next x)
This being my re-watch, and having already seen your Season 4 love for Donna, i love how you reacted to her at the end even more than i did the day you posted this on here.
As i re-watch your comments after seeing how teary you were believing that was the end of Rose, i felt guilty at the time for that, but i also don't like giving spoilers, and knew how happy you'd be later x
Jon, thank you!! You're awesome 💜🤗
This is what I loved about Doctor Who at the end of it series. When something sad has happened, there always something funny than happened at the end to make you laugh even though you just been crying and then all of a sudden you’re laughing. 😂
Good call on watching the specials and all. They are integral to the progression. And besides, they nice stories.
The Doctor did say that hope is a good thing to hold onto. Take it to heart 😉.
Awww 💜
"And I suppose... if it's my last chance to say it... Rose Tyler..."
21:20 hahaha, the Doctor goes "what? What?? WHAT?!" and the next three words out of your mouth are also "what" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Syncing 🤣
The tradition with Dr. Who is there's will always be different Doctors and companions change is what kept the show going in the last 60 years.
And it works so well! It works.... and it hurts 😭
I haven't even watched yet but the thumbnail has already killed me off haha. I knew this was coming
The scene with the Dalek and the two Cybermen is commonly referred to as the bitch fight of canary wharf in the doctor who fandom there is even a fan made edit which is hilarious to watch
One thing I always wondered about is if the 'Pete's World" universe had a Captain Jack of any kind. Guess we'll never know.
‘I made my choice a long time ago and I’m never gonna leave you’ my heart 😭
Told you something the beast said was true and to look out for it... Rose is "dead". "died in battle" of torchwood / cannary worf.
I wouldn't just walk in to have my brain removed. but I love how she came back.
You'll learn as the different seasons come and go that Doctor Who has a habit of hitting you in the feels when you least expect it. But theres plenty action and humour mixed in so the journey isnt so depressing
It's sad to say goodbye to Rose, but it's wonderful to meet a new friend. 😊
One of the best eps. Such a great love story. So heartbreaking.
This was Dr Who at its best. Rose was our anchor, connecting us to the real world, along with her family, who are so relatable.
Rose Forever ❤
I can't take the scene of the Cybermen meeting the Dalek's seriously thanks to a parody video by Joe Vevers (he has spoilers so don't looking up I'm just giving credit) but here is the parody audio:
Dalek: Identify yourself
Cybermen: You will identify first
Dalek: You will identify
Cybermen: You will identify
Dalek: After you
Cybermen: Ladies first
Dalek: Daleks have no concept of gender
Cybermen: You have identified as Daleks
Dalek: Bugger! That was clever
Cybermen: The Cybermen are known for their cleverness
Dalek: So you are Cybermen
Cybermen: Bugger
The Daleks fear no one but one single man.
It hurt my freaking heart
I love your confused reaction at the end XD.
Don’t know how many times I’ve watched this episode but the ending still gets to me
Dalek's vs Cybermen was pretty cool and this was a pretty good send off of the companion.
Yeah, not really a huge fan of the Doctor being romantically attracted to...well anyone really but also keep in mind she's only at best 20 compared to him who is in his 900 hundreds.
I'm absolutley loving these reactions. Cant wait for you to get to Smith and Capaldi. You are in for such thrills x
Thank you, Robbie! We've just reached Smith now and it's soooo good 🤗
your in for such a enjoyable roller coaster with doctor who, many whimsical doctors and moments to come!!
Nawww 💜
Gotta love the Dalek vs Cybermen trash-talking.
Happens every time... whether it's a re-watch, or even just a reaction video, the end of this episode breaks me to pieces! And every time, I let it... it's like a pressure valve that keeps the ole boiler from exploding by letting out a bit of steam, emotions need to be vented once in a while. ;-]
I absolutely agree! It is very much like a pressure valve haha 🤣😭
Perfect timing for the Christmas episode with Donna.
This is Doctor Who. That is all I will say regarding spoilers with any of your concerns. And just like that, we have Donna. ❤
I love that you said "Who is that?" at the end. A hell of an adventure awaits!
More adventures! More fun! More sadness! Bring it on 🥳
@@julesreacts Yeah I thought "It couldn't get any sadder than this, surely?", so I'm glad you're braced for it, haha
“The Emp-ah-rah” - Rose Tyler
HA!
One of the most heartbreaking episodes of Doctor Who, and any other TV show as well. Just perfect.
Nothing like a good cleanse of the tear ducts 😭😭
The episode that our hearts broke in two 💔 on & Murray Gold's Doomsday is hauntingly beautiful 😍 🎶
You made it through! It's one of the more difficult episodes (emotionally) to weather, and we all have the same reaction (even after seeing it multiple times). Excited to see you start in on the next series!
It was such a sad goodbye 😭😭
I remember thinking way back when this new iteration of the show always tugged at the feels, but then I realized how it would probably make a career of absolutely breaking our hearts. Yeah, I was right.
The saddest ending of all companions but soon the latest and best companion you will see
The music for this episode is fabulous. Murray Gold is a genius.
Just a reminder that during their stay on the bitter pill while dealing with the beast in the pit Rose was told she would die in battle, so very soon. And after the battle of canary wharf she has been declared dead on our OG earth
You know the drill double uploaded double support
The scene on the beach is the one we all remember so vividly, brilliant writing from RTD, David & Billie incredible, what a brilliant period this was for the show, and it only gets better. Who’s that bride at the end? Keep watching and find out😆
Awesome ending to Season 2 of NEW Doctor Who. AND... even after all these Eons... I had to grab up a box of Tissues once again.
Sam, thank you so much 😄
“Rose Tyler…” and with those words, SO many Whovians had heartbreak.
