- What’s going on peeps! Now that we’ve completed the weirdcore triangle of Tally Hall, Will Wood, and Lemon Demon, it’s time for some side quests in this weird experimental indie journey. Today, we’re diving into the music of Jack Stauber, a RUclipsr whose eclectic style blends synth-pop with folk, jazz, lo-fi, and rock. This vintage musician has four albums full of bizarre, intriguing lyrics and animated music videos. Despite his niche, Jack has 3 million RUclips subscribers and 2 million Spotify listeners, with some songs hitting over 100 million streams. Jack Stauber was raised on music and cartoons from the 80s and 90s, his parents introduced him to diverse genres, shaping his unique style. In high school, Jack was inspired by bands like The Residents and M83, leading him to start making music with FL Studio at 16. He released his first album, “Finite Form,” at 16, followed by “Viator,” “Pop Food,” and “HiLo,” each showcasing his evolving sound.
Jack’s live performances and quirky VHS animations on RUclips gained him a cult following. His music style, with its cherry sound and dark lyrics, combined with his unique vocal techniques, make his work stand out. He’s known for using unconventional instruments and creating music that sounds both offbeat and deeply emotional. Jack’s later work, including the album “HiLo,” saw him gain significant popularity, especially on TikTok with songs like "Buttercup" and "Oh Klahoma" going viral. Despite his success, Jack has largely stepped out of the public eye, leaving fans wondering about his next move. In this video, we’ll explore Jack Stauber’s history and music. Stay tuned for the next video where we dive into his unique visual art. Make sure to like, comment, and subscribe! PEACE!
STAY TUNED FOR PART TWO DISCUSSING HIS VISUALS NEXT WEEK!

Of course bro, you’re a legend!
WE LOVE YOU ANTHONY
@@im_raz Thank you
His style is "mental breakdown" "end of the universe" and "incomprensibile sounds of the behyond"
Good descriptions
Next side quest: That Handsome Devil
Edit: or Cosmo Sheldrake
Edit 2: chonny jash will be the final boss
Chonny Jash is the true final boss
@beetlebat I'm taking this as exact 100% confirmation of my thesis. Jokes aside, loving this series- good luck with the rest of it
Series Name Idea: Diverge Into The Neurodivergent
Bit of a mouthful
Idk if this artist 100% qualifies for your videos, but I’d love to see you do a video covering the artist “Jhariah”. His music is pretty hard to pin down, since he tends to fuse genres and styles together, so I think it’d be really fun to see you cover him.
Edit: One thing I would recommend is to listen to his EPs, especially “A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO FAKING YOUR DEATH”
Agreed, its also a perfect time with his most recent album dropping recently
Yes please I love many of his songs, especially the ones that feel very theatrical and angelic
If you liked will wood and tally hall and complex lore.. id suggest Chonny jash. Also amazing video! ❤
CHONNY JASH MENTIONED!!!
You should cover Sodikken too, this video was fantastic. Long live Mr. Jack Stauber
I plan to do one in the future! A lot of requests to go thru 😂
HECK YEAH JACK STAUBER CONTENT!!!!
If only I have money for patreon
There’s more next week 😃
Maybe you should have a look They might be giants? They kinda started the will wood-lemon demon-tally hall kinda genre in the 80’s
Loving this series so far!
I want to recommend taking a look at Sodikken next, though be warned they might be even weirder than Jack stauber
WEIRDER? Oh gosh..
@@beetlebat yep, they only have 6 songs but there is a lot to interpret from them plus the rest of the animations on their RUclips channel are just.. pretty strange
I absolutely love how every artist recommended in this comment section is an artist I’m a fan of.
yes i’m still tryna catch up
Literally came here after I found out one of his song got leaked :[
Just search up “Can you get the dog please? I know how to get there” it’s one of the lyrics.
ive been waiting for a video like this for the longest time.
You’ll get another next week!
"Fih-nihté Form" 😭😭
(also please do Sodikken next)
Bahhaha
hm, for some indie artists you can cover in your little indie song exploration series i’d like to recommend Sodikken, Femtanyl (please beware when listening her music is pretty loud), Alex g, Rio Romeo, and Good kid! love seeing your little deep-dives into artists i’ve been listening to for a while now (then again, i might’ve just hyperfixated on tally hall a lot then dug up your video) and enjoy putting more talented indie music-makers in the spotlight to get some recognition!
dude, this is really good video man! (Wasn't expecting to find out you got banned from the Hawaii Part II Twitter Lol)
Yeah, i got quite interesting lore
LETS GO!!!!!! I was waiting for a jack stauber video!
Heck yeah!
You should look into The Scary Jokes, especially the album April Fools
Adding that one to the suggestion list
Do Drive45! He's pretty interesting, I guess(I'm not getting in the lyrics much, but he sounds pretty good)
I liked the videos btw, pretty nice to know more about my fav musicians, thank you :3
Glad you learned something new!
I love Jack's music so much, all of it. Finite Form is alright, lots of it feels a lot like Merriweather Post Pavillion by Animal Collective. Viator introduced me to folk, as well as the sub-genre "freak folk", which to my knowledge uses weird vocal styles a lot, Sung Tongs by Animal Collective for example. I don't revisit it often since it's really long and really sad, but when I do I usually end up crying. Pop Food has been one of my favorite albums recently. If someone previously thought of Jack as just a guy trying to get popular by being weird and silly, this album will show them that not only is he pretty sophisticated when he needs to be, but he's actually good. And HiLo is a weirder evolution of Pop Food imo. I guess that was just a natural evolution for Jack. The chorus and outro of Pad Thai are actually my favorite parts of the song because of how noisy they are. They're not metal though, I'd say they're industrial rock but I don't know anything about what industrial rock sounds like.
Overall, great artist, very much was a gateway artist for me into more and less accessible music. Pop Food and Finite Form made me appreciate pop more, while Viator and HiLo kind of opened the doors to things like prog, noise, folk and even ambient stuff (that was me that called Pressed Flowers "progressige folk"!!! I'm technically in this video!!).
I honestly get the feeling that Jack listened to a lot of Animal Collective, or at least a bit. I've been getting into them a lot this year. If you plan on listening to their albums, their first few albums have some of the least accessible material I've ever heard. Still good, but some of it is pretty tinnitus inducing and sometimes barely sounds like music, they even have an album that I've heard described as "kind of anti-music". Merriweather Post Pavillion would be a great starting point.
Viator is the best album I would sell all my money for one of the cd’s, I actually bought a pop food vinyl for too much lmao
Dang there isn’t a CD??
I have no idea what Jack Stauber looks like, nor have I watched the video yet, but I came here to say that I thought Jacob Alpharad was in the thumbnail and that was a little alarming lol
Lol Whattt
Could I reccomend shayfer james?
why not
