I tried without at first, and I didn't mind it so much, got used to it. But seeing the officials at tournaments was next to impossible, so I invested in the goggles.
I've never used either for sparring gear, but Arawaza is a very good brand. I love their uniforms. I'd probably personally go with them. But it really comes down to affordability and personal preference. If you have the opportunity to try them both on, see how they feel, that might help.
Here's a wiki article explaining how. It's a bit of a frustrating process in my experience, and sometimes I'd have to repeat the process to get the right fit. Hope this helps! www.wikihow.com/Mould-a-Mouthguard
How do you feel about the regular Tokaido and Daedo insteps vs the kickboxing style shin guards like the Hayabusa T3s vs the cloth slip on ones? I can’t stand the kind in this video because they mess with my footwork, but also haven’t tried them without putting my toes in the loops. I’m also always the last one in line for sparring because they take so long to put on. 😂 I was also told by Daedo that the correct way to wear the footies is having the leather piece over your big toes because that’s the area that gets worn the most, instead of wherever the strap goes.
On the Tokaido website it gives this information for sizing: Small - 3 - 5 Men's US Shoe Size Medium - 6 - 8 Men's US Shoe Size Large - 8.5 - 10.5 Men's US Shoe Size XL - 11 - 12.5 Men's US Shoe Size Hope this helps!
I never have. Neither. I have been kicked in the box and the chest more than once, but I've never considered wearing protection for either. I don't even care for the shin guards, and haven't worn them often. I prefer to be as limber and light on my feet as possible, and a lot of gear leaves me feeling sluggish.
@@TheKarateShrimp i can see that yeah. i play hockey so i was used to wearing a female cup. For men i assume you would recommend a cup. When would they put that on for gear? first or last?
First thing in the morning after breakfast lol. Men usually run to the bathroom to put that on before heading to their sparring division or class. Over the gi pants is not recommended.
For all the sparring gear? If you look in the video description, there are links for my brand of helmet, gloves and shoes/insteps on Amazon. You'll see prices on there. 😊
Ok, now it's my turn to make you laugh: how do you understand which is right and which is left? I Can't! And waste an eternity of time just to decide which goes where... 🤷♂(I have astigmatism too... 🤫)
I'm just here to confirm something about the gloves. i.e. the finger tips are meant to be in line with the outer edge. All this time, I'd been putting my fingers too far into the finger loops and holding it in a fist. Problem is, whenever I straighten my fingers, they extend well past the outer edge of the gloves. Today, learned the hard way why this is a bad idea, as I kept bumping and hurting my poor fingers when trying to block and deflect. 🥲
@@TheKarateShrimp Normally my hands would remain as fists. But during our class today, there was emphasis on blocking kicks with an arm sweeping movement, and my instinct was to do it open-handed. So yeah, it made me realise I should adjust how I use them.

Will I use this gloves on punching bag?
These gloves are for training with a partner. You can use them on a bag, but they might not last very long if you do heavy hitting on the bag.
Thank you mam
You're very welcome 🙏

Can I use taekwando gear for karate?
If you're thinking of starting at a karate dojo, I would just ask the head instructor if they're cool with it.

This style is what I'm used to and comfortable with. They don't bother me much, but they do take time to put on, totally agree. 😂

Hi!
What is your shoe size?
Medium for the insteps
I mean 39, or 40...?
My size is 43, and my question is the "L" size is good to me..?
On the Tokaido website it gives this information for sizing:
Small - 3 - 5 Men's US Shoe Size
Medium - 6 - 8 Men's US Shoe Size
Large - 8.5 - 10.5 Men's US Shoe Size
XL - 11 - 12.5 Men's US Shoe Size
Hope this helps!
Do you wear a female groin guard or breast protector?
I never have. Neither. I have been kicked in the box and the chest more than once, but I've never considered wearing protection for either. I don't even care for the shin guards, and haven't worn them often. I prefer to be as limber and light on my feet as possible, and a lot of gear leaves me feeling sluggish.
But totally worthwhile for many, to wear such protection.

Why are you straightening your fingers? Are you doing it intentionally for blocking? 🤔
