That is Christmas come twice. Huge amount of firewood in your own back yard. No lugging to the car, no lifting into the car. Bingo!
Don't have to worry about forgetting tools. Can process it whenever I want. If only the wood could have been blown into the yard and I didn't have to lose those beautiful trees.

I have seen a lot of wood peckers the last few years. I hear a lot of them drumming on hollow trees too.

John, firewood fairies are great! I was installing a solar well pump for a new customer and I noticed a slash/burn pile that was full of oak slab's that was left over from his wood mill, he is clearing some land for his house site and fire prevention. And just like that, a new firewood fairy! P.s I have some nice oak slabs that are ax handle material.
