I have the same tires like you tried to change, they're split rims. If you take the 4 bolts out of the hub the rim comes apart in two pieces making putting a tube in super easy.
That makes soooooo much more sense. Thank you for sharing. I kept the old tires and look forward to putting them to use somewhere.
Harbor freight is turning into top quality, they are slowly working their garbage out and introducing higher quality and higher priced stuff. With Sears USA Craftsman market lacking now they are making the right moves... I find Harbor Freight products are mostly 98% awesome, some have little tweaks you can improve upon and end up with a good long lasting tool/item. Some are great as is but the ones that aren't you can usually make some adjustments and small upgrades yourself and end up with a nice product that lasts
They have a lot of nice stuff, for sure. I think of them for toolboxes because it's the only place you can see them before you buy, much like Sears back in the day.
I've considered many other purchases while at the store and look forward to making them in the future.
I don't know how you can manage to get any work done in that mess of a shop!
It does get out of sorts by the end of a project. I do my best to clean up the mess before starting the next adventure.
