    Also... if you overheat your chain, there's a good chance that you're overheating your bar, too. I recently bought a used saw. Was a great price, but it needed a chain and bar. The prev owner had overheated the chain & bar. He included a new chain. I bought a new bar, and now it's like a new saw.

      I never thought of that, but it makes a lot of sense.

    Would’ve been more feasible to go and rent a stump grinder from Home Depot 😊

    How do you clean the saw

    • @CTSCAPER
      @CTSCAPER  8 месяцев назад

      Clean the bar groove as shown in the video, compressed air over the saw, avoid the air cleaner, then a gently wipe down with simple green. I use the saw at most once a month but more like one or twice every 6 months. If I use it a few days I clean it off as I mentioned above before putting it away. I do my best to keep it out of the dirt and mud and I have a carry case if I put it in a truck to avoid bumps and bruises.

      Was that for your Makita? Looks like a nice saw.

      Yes there are. I hired a tree company to take down a 50' California live oak and the trunk is about 15". It's time to test the Makita on something larger than 12". @@CTSCAPER

      I considered that but didn't think people going by would go for that.
