This week John answers the question, how can I make the most out of my Rocker 32 Combo.

I just picked up a used Rocker 32 from Guitar Center for $800. I love the sounds so much. I love pushing it with boost pedals! I sent the time based effects to the STEREO effects loop, and my gain, comp. and wha type stuff into the front. Such clarity and EVERYTHING-sounds bigger! I'm sold on ORANGE Amps!!

This was exactly what I needed and answered all my questions. Awesome.
The wet / dry connection is the best sound solution that I have been given. By separating the original signal through an ABY switch to two overdrives in parallel (tc electronic MOJO-MOJO and T-Rex DIVA), I pass them each through the right and left inputs of the delay whose two outputs are each connected to the left and right returns of the amp. The ABY switch is still in A + B mode and I either click the overdrives switches or not. I tried other connections, this one is really the richest.
One of the rare occasions when I can't stop listening to an amp review...Great job!

Orange! I have the TH30 and I would like to buy the Rocker 32. For the specific purpose of running my guitar into the TH30 and out of the FX loop into my Strymon stereo pedals and the two outputs from the stereo pedals into the Rocker 32. Would this work? Would I need anything to make this work?
So far my favourite pedal for this amp has been the Ocean Machine, lot's more exploring to be done though.

Hello! Looking for advice on best wet/dry hookup for the rocker 32 and a Helix Line 6. Currently I have setup as: Guitar plugged into Helix Guitar input; Back of HELIX: 1/4" Out into Rocker Return Right, Helix Return to Rocker Send, and Helix Send to Rocker Guitar Input. Sounds pretty sweet, but I don't think this is the actual setup I'm trying to acheive
Does the wet effect in the loop need to have kill dry when using the wet/dry setup? My rocker 32 gets all thin and the volume drops without kill dry
Can you add another cabinet and still run stereo? If so what orange cabinet would if be? Thanks
You want the orange PC112 cabinet. Whatever cabinet you get it must be a 16 ohm speaker.
@@bertflores6377 can you bypass the eternal speakers entirely and run two PPC112's?

I am running a Marshall 1922 2x12 cab off one side of the Rocker 32 and using one of the on board 10s on the other side. Can I wire the two tens together and run them off the other side ? Thanks.
Hi I just purchased this speaker and I am having trouble get my pedals to work stereo. I have the timeline like you and also a stereo reverb pedal. Can you please explain to me how do I connect both together while getting them to come out stereo? I would like birth the reverb and delay pedal to come out stereo
He glossed over the very specific cable configurations needed for the wet dry set up. Does anyone know (very specifically) how to achieve the wet dry? I am new to this and would need a simple explanation similar to “1. Cable from Guitar to Input of Amp ETC ETC ETC” I appreciate any help.
Just download the manual. It has very well drawn and simple to follow diagrams.
its actually pretty straight forward. amp's loop send into input of effect, out to RIGHT effects return. left speaker will be left dry and all wet effects go to the right speaker. hope this helps.
Hi bro, I'm looking for an amplifier that I can use with my pedal POD HD500X to obtain the stereo effects, So, Can you show me or explain me how it's possible by 4 method cable connections please? I just want to make sure if this amplifier can be my solution to play in live music. For the other hand, I would like to know it's possible obtain the same sound from the presents with amplifier emulation to the orange amplifier by effects returns. Regards bro.

So to set up the Rocker 32 as a wet/dry mix would you use something like the Orange Amp Detonator to split the signal directly after the mono effects send and then run one output from the Detonator straight into the first effects return and the other output from the Detonator through your delays, reverbs, etc. and into the other effects return? Or am I making things overly complicated? >__
This is where I'm at with my Rocker and Detonator, do I put distortion/fuzz on the guitar line in and other effects on the aby loop? Need more input input.
It really just depends on the sound you're trying to accomplish. You could run any effects pedal that has stereo outputs. It's been a while, but I believe you can split your signal into one amp with a pedal that has a dry out AND effect out.

Hello. I'm blues player and I wonder how the clean channel would sound cranked... is it full of minds? I know theres only a volume control. How the clean channel compares with lets say the fender super reverb?
The clean channel is raw and is food with picking dynamics.

Why the right return for Wet/Dry? I don't get it.
Could I use this as a wet/dry using only the return inputs on the rocker 32? Headrush pedalboard with hard panned left output for dry and hard panned right output for fx.
Yes, you should be able to by plugging into the right return of the Rocker 32, giving you a wet/dry rig.

I believe that all of us who have never handled stereo amplifiers do not know how to make step-by-step connections, including the pedals. I would appreciate it if you did a demonstration of how the amplifier's effects loop works, it should be complete, seeing how you connect the pedals and how in turn you connect them to the amplifier. This demonstration was of no use to me. I'm sorry.
Unless one is using headphones or micing up to a mix board one can’t truly appreciate this combo UNLESS one gets a 1x12 cabinet and a speaker cable.
I unplug my right channel in the back of the amp and plug in a 12’ speaker cable to a Kustom 1x12 speaker cabinet. Viola! It’s the ping pong effect you ARE looking for.
What ever cabinet you chose be it a 1x12 or 2x12 make real sure it has 16 ohm speakers or you’ll roast the Rocker 32.
can you unplug both of the speakers and use two external 12' speakers? I have two PPC112's and an OR15! Would love to able to run two on either side of a room and then an or15 in the middle for a wet/dry/wet rig. Wonder if I could also plug the OR15 into the rocker32's cabs..?

i own this amp and run it often as stereo wet (strymon big 3) in a wet dry wet rig w a boogie tc-50 as the dry; slaving ONE of the fx returns (power amps) w a Kingsley CONSTABLE
the other side is the clean channel of Orange, potentially engaging a Vertex steel string for attitude
Vemuram Shanks 3k + ods-1, VW Royal Overdrive, Kingtone vintage fuzz, lehle volume, bypassing and switching
boogie and orange cabs
when i plug my Dusenberg in, i am immersed in GODTONE and it only sounds better the louder it gets and doubly so in band mix at volume
everything is midi'ed up, even the mesa triple crown' s channels
60% of the time i am running just the amps, "clean" (wet dry wet)
i would not recommend this amp to anyone NOT using preamps as i do, also those crappy 10" speakers it comes w i NEVER use (dead weight)
requiring two 16 ohm speaker loads is good sonically, but w the useless 2x10's, yer also lugging X2 cabs (16ohm each)
i modded a boogie cab w mc90's to 16 ohms a side for the rocker32; the mc90's have more headroom and are louder than my V30's
has two tiny terror transformers in it; wish they were better
often i am just hauling it around just for its 2 poweramps (wish it was just a head)

can you unplug both speaker jacks and run two ppc112's without needing anything else? I'd love to do that to have true stereo spread in a room! Would be neat to convert this amp to a head as well, or take out both 2x10's and fit it with a 112
