I use a Vox AC10c1 stereo with an Orange 35rt. Works great. Still interested in this rocker 32.
I use an Axe Fx in stereo with 2 4x12 Marshall cabs.
It's loud. Like. Really loud.
I will be using a Stereo rig soon, that's the only way to go! Good demo and playing! I have my heart set on the Orange Dark Terror but I wonder why Orange didn't put a footswitch jack on it? It's important for me to switch from clean to distortion when I'm playing. I don't want to use a distortion pedal because I love the sound of the distortion from the amp. It's inconvenient to change to distortion while you're playing because you have to take your hand off the guitar.
20 years ago Gibson released the Goldtone GA-30RVS. A 2x12 stereo amp. They were killer amps! The whole Goldtone line was phenomenal! I am very interested in one of these Orange amps now.

Hehe, I already have one, but wanted to see what other people think too. First thing I did was plug in a '18 Gibson SG Std and cranked up the dirty channel about half way... blew my socks off, it was screaming!! so nice. Can't wait to get some neat stereo effects going, ty for the demo!
This is a great demo. I just picked one of these up and I really like it so far. The stereo fx loop is a really cool feature. It is very much a great amp to use as a pedal platform (just as advertised.) Very versatile and surprisingly loud and very light compared to some other combos. I have the Quilter Aviator 2x10, which is a great amp as well and they both really compliment each other nicely. The Orange has a little more raw, mid range, type of growl, and the Quilter is a little more of a smooth type of breakup.
Both are great and right in that $1000 price range.
Again, very good demo and a great amp.
I got a rocker 15 about a month ago, I’m thinking of selling it and upgrading to this. It just adds to the versatility of this whole series, and to be able to do stereo and also wet/dry combinations that would be great for so many situations. Clean, heavy, ambient, whatever. Thanks for the awesome demo!

Eric Cross hey thanks for noticing! Sometimes I literally just strum an E chord and an A chord back and forth to see what it sounds like. If the amp sounds really good, it shows up in the simple things. Shredding might be impressive, but doesn’t serve the function of demoing the amp IMO. Glad you enjoyed! The Clean Channel is perfectly voiced. I was blown away when I played this.

The best part of this amp is using the right return only, making this little beast a wet-dry rig in one small cab. It makes it sound huge.

I have this amp. It is the second best amp to my vintage 2x10 fender super tweed amp. The thing with it is, it needs no be cranked. Above 13. O clock is sounds awesome..

My first thought when I read the specs on this amp about the stereo effects was that you’d have to mic both speakers, sounds really good
Yep! Exactly what we thought too. It’s only worth the extra channel on your front of house board if you have stereo effects and a stereo PA system. It’s also just fun to play with in the room though. Recording is dreamy as well.
This will probably be in my future set up
My Vox AD120VT is a stereo amp (2x60 watts). It's a modeling hybrid amp so the preamp is digital and each power amp has a 12AX7 tube in it. I personally think the "hybrid/tube" is more of a gimmick in this amp as I don't know of too many tube amps using a single preamp tube in the power section. Having said that you can dial in some nice tones with it.

Bob Kraft I agree whole heartedly. It’s like, “let’s put one tube in it so we can say it’s a hybrid.” Those vox hybrids do sound good though. Also, there are some solid state orange amps that sound almost indistinguishable from their tube brethren. #technology. Glad you like the video!

Believe it or not, I became a fan of Orange amps by playing the Amplitude Orange Amp presets and I thought the stereo sound was amazing - this just seals the deal for me since it it is using real tubes for that trademark warm sound. Sold.

I had a Fender Princeton Stereo Chorus amp in the early '90s. It had 2 - 10" speakers and sounded pretty nice, but it was only a solid state amp.
Did it let you run stereo effects to it, or was it stereo chorus only? Sounds cool!
MasonMusicRocks I never used any stereo pedals with it, but it did have a stereo effects loop.
First time I saw one of these I thought to myself: “Its a Orange Jazz Chorus”.
Yes, Roland did the stereo combo amp innovation from 1975-present.
Castlehill650 I need to check one of those out- you’re the second person to mention that. Did it have 2 separate power sections and everything? I’m guessing it was stereo mainly for the chorus effect, but I wonder if you could use it as a stereo effects loop like this. Either way, cool stuff!
MasonMusicRocks Yes they all have two separate power sections. As far as I know, different JC 120 models have different functionality like fx loops, but most should have them.
The Jazz Chorus (JC 120) Literally was the sound of the 80s in terms of guitar. Anytime you hear that “clean 80’s” guitar in a new wave song I would say 8 times out of 10 it’s a JC 120. Its clean tone is renowned for its sound (and the chorus of course!). Think “Every Breath You Take” by The Police. Thats a great example of a JC 120 right there (especially the intro).
Thats how influential it was, cool stuff 😎.
Don’t drive it though! Its really not meant for overdrive as much, but of course anything is possible as many other 80’s songs would prove.
Where the magic is at with these amps is when you double track these things in your mix.

Roland did the stereo guitar amp thing first, but Orange has made the stereo TUBE guitar amp affordable.
Yeah, this thing is a beast for the price point. I've heard that about Roland amps - I've never played one besides for a keyboard though.
I think Roland and a German company called Reuther made stereo combos , usually solid state but both excellent. The Orange sounds great.

The Roland JC (Jazz Chorus 120 40, etc) series is famous for its stereo effects loop. Been that way for years, not really a secret. Solid state, but known as the king of clean tone and a world famous amp chorus that utilizes the stereo speakers. So Orange didn't innovate anything. They just made a really great amplifier with an existing feature that more amps should have.

@@MasonMusicRocks Yeah. I'm really happy with it for any size venue. I do appreciate the natural break up and warmth of tubes so I will check out the Orange. But the Roland has a meaty clean sound that can be colored any way you want with boosts and overdrives. Do check it out. The 120 is the classic but big and heavy. The JC-40 is comparable in size to the Rocker 32
@@morabeza1 The Rocker 32 is far more versatile than a JC. Who wants to run an overdrive pedal through a JC? Only a diehard JC owner who thinks the JC is the shit. It’s a one trick pony.

Hey Chris! Thanks for the compliments! Yeah, this amp is definitely killer. And you can't go wrong with a Les Paul. I do have a confession to make though- I don't know what kind of pickups are in mine. I got it as a present for my 30th birthday and the previous owner had swapped out the originals, so I'm not even sure what they are! I kind of remember thinking that they were 57 classics but not positive. What do you have in yours?
Blackstar ID260 TVP is also a stereo amp, but it's not valve. It's digital Valve emulation and it's an amazing amp. I own one and will be buying this 32 in another month. All my amps are Orange and Blackstar. I just dig their darker tones.

I can do W/D with my old Fender Princeton Stereo Chorus or a wild stereo set up since it has two separate effects loops. I can do W/D/W with my old Peavey Studio Pro.
This may be a silly question, but do you only get the stereo width on recordings when using stereo effects in the loop? Or are both power amps powering the speakers independently, even if you when just plugged straight in?
Rick Sniegowski both speakers are always pushing sound, but the stereo effects are what make it sound wide. Not sure if that’s answering your question though- let me know
@@MasonMusicRocks Nope, that about does it. I'm gathering that micing stereo w/o using stereo effects, and panning hard left and right, will essentially sum to mono.
I wish this was 2x12 because the gain channel does sound a bit shrill to me. You can hear it is a smaller amp. It lacks that thickness that a 2x12 has.
Yeah- it would be cool if they made a 2x12 model of the stereo design! I like a 2x10 personally but I hear what you’re saying- definitely thicker with a 2x12.
I believe that I’ve seen a couple of boutique amps with that stereo feature but never a name brand amp

Lucas Varela yes absolutely! There are all sorts of sweet spots to find just the right amount of dirt- from just barely breaking up, to full blown saturated overdrive.

I have a orange rockerverb 32 amp can you show me how to plug in pedals and microphones and pa . i have just been practicing with the amp and i dont know how to set it up to play a gig
Are you trying to plug a vocal mic into it and use it like a PA? Or are you asking how to mic it to plug into a separate PA system?
The Rivera s120 and Tbr series were both stereo . S120 could be bought in a combo as well.

@@MasonMusicRocks I had a Tbr for a while then traded it as long as you have a rack and someone to move it I can't say enough good things about it. Those amps are well over 20 years old and were ahead of there time then.

What is this amp like for clean headroom , on clean channel?
It has plenty of headroom on the clean side. Gets LOUD and still clean. The clean side is really warm, but not muddy.
Some mid gain lead tones would be good to hear.

How do you get a wet sound out of the amp? All seems quite dry......
I’m not sure if this answers your question or not, but typically a reverb or delay pedal would give you that sound. This amp doesn’t have on-board reverb.
Perfect for wet/dry (which is better than stereo because reasons).
NB: This can be used outside of a religious context despite what the comments section would have you believe. Yes! Heathens can use this amp too!
Agree on the wet/dry. Super helpful in recording settings as well as live. Tons of control. Also, to your point, heathens tend to rock harder anyway. Have a good one!

Wonder how this would go with another amp dedicated for dry.. I got an OR15 right now and love it but the effects loop is horrendous! I might grab this for all my stereo wet pedals then run the or15 beside it with my drives only!

As amazing as it sounds, the thing i don't like about Orange amps is that they make every guitar sound the same. I have a Gibson SG, an Epiphone Les paul tribute, and an American strat, and they all sound the same on my Orange Rockerverb 50 MKIII. Sounds amazing, but people would be totally stumped if i were to do a blind test...

Gibson Goldtone RVS GA-30. It wipes the floor with the Orange... I have one for sale if anyone is interested! But Trace Elliott did this back in 1999.

I tried the rocker 15 with an Ibanez Jem. The clean sound was horrible, not warm at all. Distortion was useless.
Hum Ro I guess everyone has their own taste! I’ve always thought of orange clean tones as being super warm though- almost too dark for me. What kind of amp do you like for clean tones?

There are other stereo amps. Fender and peavey have made them. Most notably, the roland jazz chorus.

the stock speakers are UNUSABLE
i have purchased a couple ORANGE cabs to run w it
completely negates the portability factor...
when I run the voice of the world (stock) speakers w the vintage30's
in the cabs it ALWAYS sounds better w the stock ones not heard
i could replace em w gold's or greenbacks but , 10" speakers never sound right to me anyways
i bleave the stock ones in for grab and go to d bassists or wherever for room level wet dry
the clean channel is really nice
the overdrive channel set to mild breakup and hit w a germanium treble booster into a Cornish G-2 is very GOOD

For real though, I'm sure you hear a difference on the vintage 30's, but FWIW I still think the voice of the world speakers are pretty good. is it easy to disconnect the speakers to run two separate cabs? I got a ppc112 right now and was even thinking of getting this and turning it into a head (since for some reason they wont release it as a head) but I guess just disconnecting the speakers and buying another cab would be much easier!

True... but that’s what pedals are for!!! Especially with the stereo option reverbs can get really lush and spread. I’m so used to not having reverb on an amp I barely look for it anymore. What kind of amp do you play currently?

james stark I use an Earthquaker devices reverb pedal for mine. You might like one the Quilter Aviator amps. They are a little more like the fender combos with really fantastic reverb sounds.
I understand!! I just mean the spring reverb o the FHRD is very good. The reverb you use is almost (in France) the half price of the FHRD..... I mean the Rocker 3 is a really great amp (i've heard it many time on stage) but for the price a spring or a valve reverb would be good! The advantage of this amp the 2 HP. But a difference of more 200 euros makes a musician...reflections!!! Cheers!!! (NB: I used a 1998 FHRD....very strong and I've never need to change the HP neither the Groove tubes which for me are the best fot the sound) NB: I also like Marshall and Vox sound....A musician can't really makes a choice between them....it's just the sound we need for each tune created...)

It's a good effort from Orange - I owned one for about a year and a half. Ultimately, I sold it because it just doesn't work all that well with effect pedals, IMO. And I think that's just the case for EL-84 tube amps in general - because I couldn't get Vox, Egnater, Fender, or Laney amps using that tube design to work any better. If you really want a pedal platform as I did - 6V6, 6L6 and even many solid state amps will serve you better than EL-84 designs because having a scooped baseline really *does* work better when you start layering effect pedals. A mid-centric amp, as EL-84 designs invariably are, just won't work as well. That's not to say Fender or anybody in particular makes better amps than Orange. It's just the old adage "different horses for different courses" applies to amps, too.
This is super interesting - I've never thought of it that way, but it makes some sense. I play through a 6V6 amp and it takes pedals really well, but for straight up amp overdrive tone, I've always loved the EL-84 sound. I do think it's super subjective anyway, but I'm going to have to chew on this... Thanks for the food for thought.

@@Qbm2109 Interesting. I'm used to more of an American sound (6L6 tubes in my personal amp) so the EL84 amps do have more of a British square wave kind of distortion going on. What kind of amps do you use normally?

Totally understand. If you're looking for a 3 band eq for your clean tone, this isn't your amp. It definitely has strengths in some other areas that make it a killer option for many players though.

Wow- really? I don't hear it as an overly bright amp, but you and I have different ears. What kind of guitar are you playing through it? What amp are you used to? And is there one channel that's really standing out as brighter than the other?

I dont get the point of the "stereo amp" part of this
If you run pedals with stereo outs, you can send them to the left and right speaker and get a stereo spread - sounds huge when you mic both speakers and pan left and right in the FOH, or in studio too. All of that without having to drag 2 amps around.

The distortion sounds like a huge fart. & its about time they start making valve amplifiers more light. And by the time u change the speakers & valves u mose well buy a real amp
