  • The Rocker 15 is the little brother of the Rocker 32. The 32 is fully stereo. So why even buy the 15? Well, it offers the same amazing sounds as the 32 and you might not need a stereo amp... or, even better, you want an ultra portable Wet/Dry/Wet System and you just buy both !

I absolutely love my Rocker 15. Was concerned about the 10”, but figured it would cut through nicely. So I added the PPC112 with the V30….it’s an excellent addition. And they stack up nicely. Doesn’t take much OD to really push it, and responds nicely with my active pickups. Easy to carry, loud AF, and the clean channel and fx loop makes it great for pedal and go.

Great review... Just bought my first Orange amp 🍊 The Rocker 15 - and it is awesome. First tried this amp at a local Guitar Center and was not really impressed... due to your in-depth review, gave it a second chance and bought it. Tested it against all the "great" amps I thought I had (BJR, AC10, Class 5, Supersonic 22, etc)... So glad I did - the Orange is the best of the bunch! Well balanced tone (articulate, pleasing, etc)... I NOW understand what you meant about this amp "making you feel you can play" ... I can't explain it but I feel the exact same way about this amp ... it just has some magic to it. Just goes to show, you need to try amps and guitars in your usual spot (I.e. home studio) with your own guitars, etc... The Natural (clean) channel on the Rocker 15 is the best I have heard. At the store, I wasn't impressed by the amp but... at home, against my usual gear, it really blew me away. Thanks for the review... I am now a HUGE 🍊fan!

Tricko are you still liking the amp? I’m curious about just how quiet, and how well it really sounds, at the “bedroom” 0.5 watt setting. There’s a huge variance with peoples opinions on low wattage amps, like those who say a blues junior is a good bedroom amp. That thing goes from no sound to waking up everybody in the house between 1 and 1.5 on the volume knob.

The amplifier is really great. I bought the Rocker 15 one week ago. When I checked the Rocker 15 the first time, I knew this is the sound I love. I just wanted to buy only the amplifier, not the combo. But I live in Nicaragua and the selection of guitar amps is not very large, so I bought the combo. In my opinion the speaker is not very good. The bass is too weak and the mids are very dominant. I disconnected the speaker and connected the ampflifier to my box with a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback. This is a really great combination.

Hi Henning, great video, the amps sounds great. I'm just happy this video (and the amp) is comming up so late, as I was doing some "guitar-stuff shopping" lately and this just clocked around by budget - if it came out sooner I would probably lose my mind choosing: a new guitar or a new amp. Back in November it was an easy choice: I went with a new guitar (and I'm SOOO happy), but this amp sound SOOO good I now want it so bad it's on my this year wish list.
I love to watch your amp and guitar reviews (though I'm definitelly not a pedal nerd), so please keep them comming.

@@CTBlaze it sounds sweet, but to add a little more to it.I run a Orange two stroke clean boost pedal in front and the pedal has a parametric eq.It has a low and a hi,and you can choose a certain frequency for both hi and low,and you can cut a frequency,or you can boost a frequency. So it totally changes the way the pups in your guitar sounds pretty much.Awesome pedal. Then with a JHS spring tank reverb pedal. It has a boost if the pedal cuts the volume a little, and it has a knob to control the reverbs tone so I turn it up to get a little more highs out of it and with just those pedals it totally inspires me.I play a Les Paul by the way ,so it is a darker tone .All depends on the pickups .The clean channel is supposed to be transparent so it makes it sound how your guitar is sounds.I could of explained it better but ...Orange explains it better on their website😁. Just my opinion lol.I love mine.

Ordered one and spent 3 days at home and couldn't understand how fizzy it sounded at home. I just excitedly went to the music store and tried the Rocker 15. Same thing, it was fizzy with no bass. Maybe I didn't turn it up loud enough. I want to love this thing. I may go try again and take my own guitar.

    • @aramverduzco5285
      @aramverduzco5285 6 лет назад +2

One thing is fuzzy, another one is fizzy. Fuzzy is like a mix between OD and a Fuzz pedal, Fizzy is more on the high end. Orange amps are fuzzy, not fizzy. But they are articulated though. Play one and dig in your guitar, they respond very nice to dynamics. If you bring the volume up, you'll remove some of the fuzziness and you will increase the articulation. These are meant to be played loud to get the best sound possible.
You want just a bedroom amp? Get a digital one, too bad low budget digitals lack dynamics, even the Yamaha THR10, I own one...

They definitely have thier own flavour of sound and I would have to call that flavour Orange. I have a micro dark and love it. I just wish there were more mods out there for it. It needs more control on the EQ and maybe a bit less drive which could give a little more clean headroom. Love the effects loop. Maybe that's the key to controlling this thing. I saw a trick where Rob Chapman was running his pedal board direct to the input of the effects loop bypassing the pre-amp. Sounded good for cleans and pedal drive. I know I'm all over the place with my post. To much going on upstairs. Lol. #overthinker

I guess I should have said "mushy". My main amp is a Splawn so that might not be a fair comparison as they are surgically precise amps and amplify mistakes

I do not understand Oranges Logic with using a 10in Speaker and not a 12in? Was it cost (larger cab and a little more money for the speaker?) and NO Reverb at 800usd? You can get all this in a amp (Marshall DSL 40) at the same cost or less! Not the same sound mind you but I just do not get it? Orange made in China and Marshall made in Vietnam I believe. How much money does it cost to mass produce a Foot switch in China for Gods Sake (It's a metal box with one Damn $6 switch inside) and they can't even include that!! If the Orange is built better then I can justify the cost but I have never taken the two apart to compare so I have no clue..Someone please chime in as to why this is $800usd? I love Orange but they seem to shoot themselves in the foot all the time. How many Marshall DSL 40'S have been sold compared to this at the same price point? I will take a guess that it is a least 30 to 40 to one..

why not a sound comparison between bedroom and full? This really lacks in this video, because bedroom is a key feature. Is Bedroom not the same sound? Isuppose-

You gotta mention the guitar. It's a framus gps panthera ii supreme.
Not exactly cheap. And not many people could afford it.
It probably compliments the amp more so than a lower or middle range guitar would.

      Aram Verduzco
What kind of music do you play? Don't forget that the Friedman Runt 20 combo is the same price as the Marshall Silver Jubilee combo. I'd say that the Orange probably has more gain than the Marshall and probably sounds girthier, but boosting the Marshall would sound glorious. I'd also say that there's less going on with the Orange, a bit more straightforward and less stuff to potentially fail. The Marshall Silver Jubilee is British made while the Orange is Chinese made. I wouldn't be too discouraged about the Orange being Chinese made, as it's Orange's factory. Hopefully this helped out man! Either way I think you'd have yourself a killer amp!

Orange amps suck at clean. They do crunch and od very well though. Reverb may have helped the clean on this model but not there ..

Mark Kerns I am a Fender cleans fanboy and I can say the Rocker 15 has the best, most balanced, clean (natural) channel if any amp I own (except maybe my 59' Bassman).
