@Jay-it3ze honestly that’s not the biggest problem. No underpaid is my problem. It doesn’t matter if it already has one attached. That’s not good enough. It will creak and crack when you walk on it, and will rot the floor underneath because it’s no moisture barrier in between. I’m no professional but I’ve done a ton of research on it and I feel confident I can do it. I’m waiting on my flooring to be ready now.

If you watch closely you'll see a black underlayment on the planks, they come with it pre attached so you don't have to lay anything out ahead of time. Btw don't use this guy's video as a guide he's making a ton of mistakes. I'm no expert but I can clearly see some glaring issues with his methods
I try to scrape staples and sweep first at least dang. My stagger is at least the width of the plank. You get a repetitive noticeable pattern with the simple 3 plank stagger, I try and do more random stagger not so noticeable to the eye. I lay plank and carpet everyday though and stick to my liking 😊

Is it cheap to put in vinyl or laminate in your house? I guess because the planks feel so fluffy it turns me off. I tried the hybrid, life proof and them debating to go back since they’re solid plane. Any suggestions?

Honestly bro we are going to have to agree to disagree on your last comment. I done seen some jokers not even run flooring under door jamb. They just notched the flooring to butt up to it and caulk it and that’s a big no no. This kinda work isn’t for everybody. It’s not just about the money that you can make doing this, at the end of the day it’s about doing it right. I’ve seen plenty of things that people have done that they should be abolished from this field for. We take this work serious over here and I like a lot of elbow room and it’s not enough room for people that are playing doing this
I see sooooo many people putting in small pieces like that in the end. DO NOT DO THIS! You want your end piece to be no less than 12” some people say 8 is ok but from personal experience 12 is the minimum IMO.
Why do these comments pretend like the flooring equivalent of legos is some complicated thing? You could half ass some vinyl plank flooring and it still he alright 😂 This is similar to the dudes that have made pressure washing into a complicated profession
Am I the only one bothered by all the debris the first piece went in over? I am getting ready to do this but haven't done it yet so someone please tell me that doesn't matter? I won't be hearing the crunch of debris chunks under the floor as I walk over the flooring?
No make sure your floor is completely clean before install. Hearing debris crunch as you walk is one thing, have to replace a piece cuz you didnt take the time to clean underneath is a whole different problem you dont want to have
0% effort used in cleaning the floor. 0.0mm underlayment. 0 wall spacers I feel sorry for whoever owns this in 5 years. I rather resurface the plywood underneath than have something half done.
$2 a sq foot. Hahahaha. This is why the contractors board runs sting operations on unlicensed contractors. I know people want everything cheap but you gotta pay tax. You gotta pay your labor force. Workman’s comp. Unemployment insurance Bond insurance etc. not cheap. But remember what you pay is what you get.

You went over all that trash so i can only assume youre going to cut around that nail sticking out of the floor. And a carpet knife? Tell you amateur DIY’rs right now, if ya dont know what youre doing then dont use that flimsy carpet knife. Ive been installing for almost 14 years and the only time you should use a carpet knife is for….carpet
Full half then quarter for the first three rows….gonna look so unnatural and isn’t going to sit well considering you didn’t even clean the subfloor or use underlayment this should be deleted so people don’t follow this
Step 1: clean the floor

Jay-it3ze a lot of people put it on top of previous floor. Not a big deal at all
Jay-it3ze I just bought a house and all it needs is flooring so this is good information for me. Thank you!
bro left all that trash under smh
Didn't u listen to the video. Everything is extra. Customer must have not paid for that 😅 I'm kidding of course.
I love when you say “you might have to loose your mind a little bit”
30 second how to video. Ok, I'm ready
gonna fly through any left over boards with all the pops your going to get, CLEAN THE FLOOR FIRST! can see your the type to disappear after the work is "done"
Bro don’t have joints so close! I use a full, half, 3/4, 1/4 board pattern to keep my joints consistently spaced.
“How not to install vinyl flooring” is a more accurate title for this video. Anyone watching this video stay far away this guy has no clue
Agreed
That’s some nice hardwood you’re covering up.
Cheaper to cover than refinish
@@flooringcheatcode7125 how much to refinish
@@peechford3796 no clue on refinishing, there is a lack of those tradesmen in my area
Vinyl is final...
Home is worth more with refinished hardwood floors rather than with snap n click vinyl flooring.
Never put anything below the venyl beafore put on the floor?

How to install vinyl plank flooring, get your first 3 rows and you're good to go, thats his advice lol
I thought you’re suppose to use spacers against the wall when installing planks?
Correct

Thought you didn’t want any strips shorter than 6” and strips wider than 2”. That first row had a piece that was like 4 inches
That's was gonna be my comment. Dude should have cut off, from the left edge, the first piece of the tow
Yes clean your floor, for several reason what if the debris cause your floor have lumps in it, after you finish! I probably will loose my mind!
Is it cheap to put in vinyl or laminate in your house? I guess because the planks feel so fluffy it turns me off. I tried the hybrid, life proof and them debating to go back since they’re solid plane. Any suggestions?
I was gonna say ..aren't you supposed to prep the floors first? Like sweeping or vacuuming??🙄
It’s not Timelapsed but it is.
"This ain't even time lapsed" lol right. You can clearly tell its sped up
😂😂we just flyin right through this man
Is padding not necessary if you’re installing the planks on top of an existing wood floor? Thanks in advance!
Why did you install them at the same length. Eyes will pickup pattern right away.
"This is a trade"

Installing ON TOP of hardwoods like a true scumbag
Hardwood floors are so overrated I have them and hate them , they are not practical, especially for a family.

Same thing I said 😂
No spacers?
That hardwood is in pretty good condition, surprised the home owner didn't want to pay the extra to refinish it.
I’m just here for the comments
Spacers along the skirting so it stays straight
I hope those boards have built-in underlay
Do full, 3/4 and 1/3 length pieces or quarters to get a better stagger and keep those joint lines further apart
I did make a killin installing floors.
Why wouldn't you let the painter paint the baseboard
How much for prep?
The lines of the planks where they end are not far enough from the ones on the other row
Whats $2 dollers a square foot compared to like £7-15 pounds a square metre?
Umm… wanna clean the surface first before laying down the planks?

I found this to be verry hard
The inly thing I learned was who NOT to take flooring advice from
Nope, instructions say longer for that one piece near the wall and also, clean up and remove baseboards.
How do you start the pattern
Your new to it bro...😂😂😂😂😂
Joints are to close together, should be spaced 8-12" apart.
