My buisness uses spc vinyl theres not cutting at all we use saw and that thing that snaps it straight like a habdle and grab it and push it down. The spc is way too strong ive, tried to score it so many times it doesn't work.

That's not a good placement for the transition. It should be further back so that you do not see the outer edges.

I see sooooo many people putting in small pieces like that in the end. DO NOT DO THIS! You want your end piece to be no less than 12” some people say 8 is ok but from personal experience 12 is the minimum IMO.

Do I need an underlay?

A 11+ years flooring installer here. First check the flooring moisture. Use a floor grinder to smooth a little bit the wood subfloor. Use Planipatch to level the flooring ☑️Use a Moisture barrier. And get -Flooring spacer- just bc the floor "expands and contracts all the time.

$2 a sq foot. Hahahaha. This is why the contractors board runs sting operations on unlicensed contractors. I know people want everything cheap but you gotta pay tax. You gotta pay your labor force. Workman’s comp. Unemployment insurance Bond insurance etc. not cheap. But remember what you pay is what you get.
