Thank you guys, I have a question, I will apply soon for EB2 NIW, and hope it gets approved, then I could go for NVC IVP, so I am wondering what qs should I expect, and how often this type of visa is refused at the embassy?
Hello Mr. Raval! Thank you for the very informative video on employment based based greencard interview. I have an approved I-140 EB2 NIW being processed under Consular Processing in India. I am currently living and employed in Singapore, and hence during my forthcoming visa interview I am concerned about getting a confirmed letter of employment in the US. How critical is it? If I am unable to get a confirmed employment letter, can I show some informal communication (email, chat transcripts) with US employers on potential future employment after I get my greencard?
Hi there! I'm working on my EB2-NIW application as well. If you don't mind sharing your timeline and what industry you on? Did you use any agency or DIY? I use to work in Singapore; currently living here in Australia. Thanks!
@@mapwa9333 Hi! My EB2 NIW application was done through an immigration lawyer back in 2012 and it was based on my PhD work in the US. Back then the timeline was about 8 to 10 years, but now the dates are moving ahead pretty fast...so at this rate I would say the timeline is more like 5 years from the date your application is approved. It is best to use an immigration lawyer from the US to work on your application. I would not recommend a lawyer from anywhere else. If you have a PhD, the lawyer might be able to give you more options for the GC such as EB1 or other immigrant visa channels.
@@mapwa9333 my PhD is in Materials science, but a PhD in a STEM area should qualify you for EB1 or EB2 NIW. A good immigration lawyer will be able to prepare your case better.
If you wish to apply for an employment based GC, you would need any employer who would be willing to sponsor a GC for you. For this you can use any job based websites to apply for jobs, and if you get a job, you would be employed on an H1B visa first, and then you can apply for your GC, provided you have spoken to your employer about it. Other alternative is to apply for GC via EB1 A or EB2 NIW using an immigration lawyer on your own. This is generally possible if you have an advanced degree (Masters or PhD from the US) in STEM fields. These options also allow you to self-sponsor yourself, so you do not need a job or an employers backing for the GC application.
Super helpful video, very few like this one are out there - thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. Very very helpful.
Congratulations Vijay
