This was a pretty easy install of a budget aftermarket CarPlay (or Android Auto) for the Toyota Tacoma 2005-2013. Seems to be working well and fits pretty well. Just a minor tweek was need for my model year (2007). There are lots of different sellers for these carplay systems. But the how install for the tacoma will basically be the same.

THANK YOU! Awesome video. I bought the same exact one (I thought) and after moving the hazard switch over and doing all of that, I realize that the power plugs do NOT fit! even though they sell it as for a 2005 - 2013. I will return this and buy the same one you got. Good to know also that you don't need all the wires they send!

Tip when you buy this kind of units for any car always buy the version that also has DSP for a way better sound

So.... fellow Californian, how well does the screen show if bright sunny day conditions? Especially with light coming in side windows?

My bro says it is fine. He didn't even bother to turn up the brightness. I know my camera didn't do well directly facing the sun. Haha

Hey what year is your truck? Mine is a 2006 and the plugs do not fit to the truck.

haha, well, radio stations often have streaming service also, so you can usually get your station/show through an app that will work with carplay.
