Matt, this is so interesting. I have felt the need to want to quit RUclips for a while too. Though my last year has been amazing too with a new studio. Does your studio ever get too hot? The 10 bit color in this video looks amazing. Is HLG2020 the only profile that supports 10 bit color on the A7SIII? I am wondering because some of my recent videos were shot in PP Off and I had the Movie Settings set to 200M 4:2:2 10bit. I am hoping they still retain 10 bit color even though it was PP Off. I would greatly appreciate if you can give me advice on this as I have exhausted my research at this point haha.
I really think it’s best to do what you WANT to do and don’t overthink it! And a new location kinda reinvigorated my desire to start making YT videos. I shot this in 10 bit 4:2:2, Cine EI on the FX9, color graded with my own LUTS. As far as your color profile is concerned, yes, technically it’s still 10 bit in terms of file quality and size, but since the profile was set to PP off, the camera didn’t capture the full dynamic range. You wont have the latitude to color grade that you would in PP9 (S-Log3) but it’s still better than nothing. Oh, and the new studio is perfect - it’s got heat/AC and fully insulated! 🫰🏼
