    hi do you not use a different lens for detailed shots for video?

    • @MattJackson_YouTube
      @MattJackson_YouTube  2 года назад

      That’s an awesome question - I rarely have need for detailed shots as most houses are not staged or I simply use the 12mm to highlight something specific like a fireplace, etc. I want to start taking to time to switch to an 85mm or 135mm and get some cool detailed CUs or parallax shots. This is a good reminder to start doing that! Thanks!

    Hi what ND filter do you use on your 12 mm lens with the a7s3 I don't see it in the description thanks

    Great Channel !!… I just started shooting real estate on the a7siii and in Slog3… Do you actually shoot straight into the monitor using a lut while recording the footage the simultaneously? I have the shinobi and was thinking of getting the Ninja so I don’t have to color grade all the footage .. I find that slog3 is very hard to edit.. Will you ever make a video on your real estate editing in slog 3 .. I have yet to find a good video on this topic .. thanks !

      Thank you! For all my work, I monitor with a LUT but don't bake it in. I want as much latitude as possible in post. Learning color is still the most difficult part of my work, so I appreciate that you'd like to see a video detailing how I do it. I will put it on the list!

      @@MattJackson_RUclips appreciate it … I totally get why a baked LUT might not make sense for real estate video based on how everything interior can have such different light , color etc… I’ve tried grading my own filmed in S log 3, but still have a bit of that flat look… Ive tried adding more saturation, but white walls don’t look white 😂

      @@alansarpy houses are particularly difficult due to the varying color temperatures of lights. I usually set my white balance to Auto and adjust after in post. That seems to give me to most standard place to start.

    Man I can't believe I have so many things common with you. I also operate a7Siii and Ronin RSC 2. However, I had a question as you shoot in prores raw what is your opinion on internal xavc in slog 3 for real estate? I also have DJI air 2s 🙂

      That’s great! Looks like we’re using all the right stuff. 😄 I actually shoot in S-LOG3 and record to the Ninja V in ProRes 4:2:2 - mostly because I love working in ProRes and using the Ninja. I think the internal codec of the a7Siii is amazing, I just have such a specific workflow at this point I’ve never upgraded my SD cards to begin using it.

      @@MattJackson_RUclips if you have ninja why would you invest your money in those expensive cards. It seems like you have figured out the prores workflow and your work does look amazing. I had one more question how would you rate 16-35 f2.8 gm and zeiss18mm F2.8 for real estate. I had a very good deal lined up and I really want to pounce. I was using 10-18 F4 on sony apsc so far.

      @@kapilesh14 if you’re working on full frame and those are your options, then the zoom is probably a more versatile option for you to use in more than just real estate. Personally, I only use prime lenses and the Zeiss Batis lenses are amazing. But I’d probably go with the GM if I had to choose.
