In this vid I'll give a few reasons as to why they're at the top of the rock/metal space regardless. I'll cover their live performances, the virality of Mary On a Cross on TikTok and lots more. Give me some of your opinions below!

Saw them in Cincinnati. The show was epic I'm definitely coming back anytime they're near me again.
Great video, but none of what you mention would matter if they/Tobias didn't write some of the most catchy, and well-crafted rock songs in the last 20 years. They stand out since Tobias is a brilliant songwriter.

THIS right here is why I love Ghost I have no idea about the fan base name, but I am one. I'm 51, devout lifelong metalhead - esp OS death, thrash. Also love music outside metal: goth, new wave, some punk. I've never in my life seen a more progressive band than Ghost. Maybe Rush, but I'd argue Ghost way better at ear worm songwriting & stage craft.

Why is it an issue that a band doesn't fit neatly into a genre box?
Ghost is neither pure rock nor pure metal. Its something inbetween and both at the same time. You can call them Rock, you can call them metal but you can't say that they are neither^^
Impera could probably be considered a "Rock opera" album, like Queens "A Night at the Opera" album.

The Nu-Fandom is an absolute cancer though. TikTok brought in the worst, and cringiest people into the fandom. The Ghost fandom was in its prime during Meliora.
Lol every time I think they've reached their saturation point I'm proofed wrong. They manage to stay true to their unique sound while still earning the variations that make them progressive

I never really liked ghost or followed them then met my best friend and no its just us fanning over these guys (i just learned con clavi on bass :]) will be sad to see copia go but its for the best right?

As a Christian the only thing I can't stand or dislike about them is the satanic nature, a few bad covers and the upside down cross, brilliant band
I tend to think they are taking the piss out of Satanism, like a joke.
Really? That's what I enjoy MOST about Ghost. Finally an amazing songwriter who also understands Christianity backwards-forewards - but more importantly: Christian POV on Satan backwards-forewards, incl exactly which buttons to push.
And the best is yet to come: one nervous evangelical parent complains to large evangelical org, & Ghost blows up

As a Christian, you are not Tobias Forge's target audience, and he wants to make you uncomfortable. Maybe listen to the lyrics a bit closer, and see what he's saying about religion in general, and why he's got such a problem with it. You might learn something.
@@The_WaveI think Tobias Forge is taking the piss out of *all* religion, and the underlying message to a lot of his songs is simply "think for yourself". Which is hilarious, since he's started a bit of a cult of his own!
