Some people think he has a BIG ego. I don't agree with them. After he had some "legal issues" with the former "nameless Ghouls" some Ghost fans thought that Tobias had an ego problem. From what I heard many of the former Ghouls had NOT done much to contribute to Ghost, BUT, they wanted to get all the money that was made. I guess that most of us will never know exactly what happened with them. I like all Ghost songs except "Kiss kiss the goat". I DO Miss Omega in Ghost, I have heard that Martin is still friends with Tobias. Martin is now in MCC.
@@nickj4785 When it comes to a person being "sexy" alot of it has to do with their talent and how they use what they've got, so, they may NOT be ULTRA good looking, BUT, a person can be VERY sexy using their personality. Now, IF they are SUPER unattractive, they will likely NOT be seen as sexy. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Tobias is attractive and talented, so, he need NOT worry about being perfect. AS for having a "Bruce Lee" physique. Bruce Lee was sick and too damn skinny right before he died, so, Tobias need NOT envy his body. Bruce Lee was severely underweight when he died, anyway, I doubt that Tobias was TOO serious about all of that anyway. I am kinda drunk so IF my comment seems a bit weird THAT is why.
@@juliegogola4647 Tobias always made all music alone. Omega wrote the instrumentals for Year Zero and Zenith and he did not even join in the lawsuit. The rest were just paid musicians that wanted an equal share when they saw Ghost was going to hit the big scenes in the near future. Tobias, as talented as he is remains incredibly humble and down to earth, cares about fans and the music. And yes Martin and Tobias are friends still, Martin had a special thanks in the Prequelle record. What remains unclear is that how and why Martin was kicked. We only know that Martin was interfering with the production in a way that nobody liked.
I'm right there with you! Love the hand gestures. Love all the incorporated sound effects. Love his "heh heh heh" laugh. And just how goddamn brilliant he is!
I don't listen to metal bands, and I'm sick of their same old aesthetic and singing voices, but Ghost really captured my interest with their relatively new and creative ways. I love Tobias' voice, it's clear and different from the "metal" voice. I think he is an extremely articulate, intelligent and good looking person too.
Oh Tobias, it's your voice that brought my attention to Ghost. You have killer harmonies in your songs. The music's amazing. Your choice of using an alter ego to front the band is an excellent idea and your videos are great... though I would have loved to see what you had planned for Life Eternal. Can't wait for what comes next.
He might not sing like Freddie Mercury (still sounds awesome, though!), but his showmanship and ability to work a crowd definitely reminds me of Freddie sometimes. You've got something great going there, Tobias, don't be so hard on yourself!
We just saw ghost live this past Friday in san diego ! My husband literally said the way Tobias moves on stage reminds him of freddie ! Tobias moves on the stage so beautifully and so captivatingly 🖤
It’s funny his birthday is 3/3 and mine is 3/1…he’s a year younger than me and hearing him it’s like him explaining who I am but have a hard time explaining to people. He explains it for me ❤

I love this interview. Tobias speaking on his unwillingness to be on stage, recorded or generally to be seen within the public's eye sings to my heartcore. There's so much mystery, intrigue and fun in the Ghost Lore. Wanting to create art and perform, but also craving that clandestine connectivity, that anonymity, those smoke and mirrors type of movements and moments--the way Tobias thinks is so similar to my own labyrinthine mind, I can't help but feel a cathartic release every time I watch an interview with him in it.
I find it interesting that how he wants to be someone else on stage. That he doesn't feel he is interesting enough to be an unmasked front man. But in reality he's a descent looking guy and extremely talented. I love his voice it's clear and clean. I will admit the first time I saw them I thought his voice didn't match the music but it works.
People like Alice Cooper, the guys from KISS, and David Bowie were quite famous for inventing these characters/personas to hide behind and/or be creative with. Bowie in particular was quoted, way beyond the Ziggy years, as saying he's "not really up there to be himself. It's just not what [he does]."

He’s a brilliant vocalist, when I heard Dance Macabre I thought “ damn this guy has range”. In the eighties he would have been a god but there’s still time. I just found Ghost and I’m hooked
Tobias you are adored by millions of people with or without the mask. Everyone wears a mask and it is painted by our own interpretations of ourself. A self image we are so strong to believe that we miss when people DO appreciate, compliment and empower us, then we focus on the negative judgements to strengthen our belief of ourself. We are judged by so many already, we shouldn't judge ourselves, it's the only liberation. Every person will find people who do or don't like them, when we find the one's who say we are awesome, they see beyond on the mask, and they are the one's who are right. Let them paint our masks for us and wear it proud, throw out the gross paint that is given to you, because they are only handing you what they painted themselves with. You are awesome, we are awesome!
My daughter loves Ghost and wants to do something for her school talent show but feels the same way Tobias does. I explained to her she can be anything she wants and she can even dress like Papa, full regalia- if that helps her feel more comfortable being onstage. So seeing this... and how he feels about it...I totally understand what hes saying.

My theory is the main female lead in both is the connection.. I believe she is the "handler/assistant" for the current pope.. In Kiss the Goat.. He "cheats on her" and she punishes him.. In Dance Macabre she has selected the male lead as the next pope.. Yes she ages but has the power to change her looks or influence how people see her.. So the very beginning of kiss the Goat and the entire video of Dance Macabre are happening at the same time. But thats just a theory!! Lol

Huh. It's a mystery to me how this man doesn't know how attractive he is. No, his features aren't perfect, but that's what gives his face character and makes it interesting. I don't see a darn thing wrong with his body, either. But if this insecurity about his appearance is what lets us savor the contrast between his outrageous on-stage persona and and the brilliant sweetheart of a man beneath that persona, well then I guess it's a blessing for us as fans.
Love Ghost!! One of my favorite bands. I try to watch any interview videos by him, and a lot of times he complains about not having enough money for the stage show he wants, or music videos, or live DVD. I don't get it cuz Ghost tours very big venues relentlessly, and their albums sell very well, their merch sells very well also, Tobias gets most of the publishing, so how come no money. Bands that sell less, play small venues, tour less and have less fans are able to make excellent videos and live dvds. Look at Behemoth, their videos are top notch, and they come out with live DVDs. Abbaths harvest pyre video was great! Avatar just filmed a musical with a video for every song on the album. So I don't get it with the money excuse, but I will agree that he probably doesn't have a lot of free time! Favorite video by Ghost is Kiss the Go Goat. Nice interview by the way.
Touring big venues surely brings a huge influx of money, but you have to keep in mind that the logistics behind a huge and elaborate show like Ghost puts on also eats up a lot of that money again. I think they are big enough by now so that the touring basically pays for itself, but I doubt there is much profit. And while their albums do sell well, income from a particular album will go down as time passes on since there will be a point at which most people who want it will have gotten it.
They do play larger venues, but the cost of touring adds up quickly. They're a larger sized band and they have crew for behind the scenes stuff. The more people you have the more you have and the more props you have to transport the higher the cost. He mentioned in another interview that they had 25 people use 2 tour buses and 3 trucks to get around
@@PikovajaDama I've seen loads of big artists saying albums make just a tiny fraction of their money unless you can be a self sufficient, self publishing artist and keep the rights to your music... When a band releases an album or a dvd these days, chances are the whole thing will be on youtube within a day or two. Fans should report it en mass when they see it.

I love the "Rats" video! It kind of embodies the 80s/90s vibe and the choreography/dancing is excellent. His discussion makes me wish I had unlimited money so he/Ghost could make videos without interference.

A lot of his ideas could potentially come to fruition if they were animated; you can do so much more with good animators than practical and cgi effects, anyway. There's so much to explore with Ghost that keeping it confined to live-action is a disservice to itself, imo. 🤷🏻♀️ Ghost is one of those ideas that is going to have a life that far exceeds even its own creator; decades from now people will still be making their own ghost content and creating other things that are just as amazing because they existed in the first place. I fucking love this band.

Touring big venues surely brings a huge influx of money, but you have to keep in mind that the logistics behind a huge and elaborate show like Ghost puts on also eats up a lot of that money again. I think they are big enough by now so that the touring basically pays for itself, but I doubt there is much profit. And while their albums do sell well, income from a particular album will go down as time passes on since there will be a point at which most people who want it will have gotten it.
They do play larger venues, but the cost of touring adds up quickly. They're a larger sized band and they have crew for behind the scenes stuff. The more people you have the more you have and the more props you have to transport the higher the cost. He mentioned in another interview that they had 25 people use 2 tour buses and 3 trucks to get around
@@PikovajaDama I've seen loads of big artists saying albums make just a tiny fraction of their money unless you can be a self sufficient, self publishing artist and keep the rights to your music... When a band releases an album or a dvd these days, chances are the whole thing will be on youtube within a day or two. Fans should report it en mass when they see it.

Honestly, it took me a couple of listens to "get" the last Ghost album.
Funny, I loved it from the first listening.
Same. I was blown away first time through, but I had to listen a few times to really get the full effect.

Never rest your self esteem on the opinions of others. I think Tobias is a great influence. He is such a visionary and I love it.
A lot of his ideas could potentially come to fruition if they were animated; you can do so much more with good animators than practical and cgi effects, anyway. There's so much to explore with Ghost that keeping it confined to live-action is a disservice to itself, imo. 🤷🏻♀️
Ghost is one of those ideas that is going to have a life that far exceeds even its own creator; decades from now people will still be making their own ghost content and creating other things that are just as amazing because they existed in the first place. I fucking love this band.
