So... Trent shared this video and said it was incredible. As you might guess that's the best compliment I could ask for this project. Answering his question, you pull this off with time and love for the music, but an awesome live show like this one makes it much easier. For those who are interested, the idea was to create something similar to the And All That Could Have Been DVD, that was composed with footage and recordings from multiple shows to create the illusion of a single concert. For this one I used lots of video footage of shows from all over the world uploaded to youtube (all the channels where it came from are listed at the credits) and the audio is taken from some awesome IEM recordings by tooldvn from three different shows in New Orleans during this tour that you can download in high quality at ninlive.com
I'm a huge fan of your work!
Bravo !
If there are links for a better quality, even if it's already pretty good, I'm in for it...
Damn, this is amazing work! On behalf of all NIN fans, thank you :) And thanks to Trent for bringing it to my attention :D
And the sound quality...sooooo goood.
@@modolek It's comming as a download to ninlive.com
I was at the 1st and 3rd nights in New Orleans, right up front. Both mindblowers. Thanks for all the hard work and love that went into making this video.
The Subterraneans/God break down the door mashup is completely unreal. Been listening to it almost on a daily basis.
Same, Same, Same. Why is it that some of the most darkest, moodiest pieces of music make me the most happiest??? Do you experience this as well @ComaComaComaComaComaChameleon ?
The fact that Ilan Rubin can play a beat live that was put together in a studio to mimic chaotic jungle/drum & bass is just utterly absurd. What a bloody legend.
They use drum triggers. Which means more sounds play when triggered.
@Tactical Center I imagined that was likely the case, but it's still ridiculous and the guy deserves praise for it.
@@andrewwowk935 there's another nin drummer that I prefer pre ilan that's probably more legendary
@@tacticalcenter8658 Jerome Dillon? I agree.
One of the best drummers of all time in my opinion!
Man, hearing Trent singing Bowie's "I Can't Give Everything Away" with such passion really shows what a connection he had with David, a real kinship. Gave me chills.
and he added Bowie's solo voice track on the chorus... wow.
I agree wholeheartedly! This is literally the first time I've heard this song and it has blown me away! Honestly it sounds beautiful and it's sung with such passion. I wish I just had it as an audio recording now.
I saw them play 'I Can't Give Everything Away' at the Royal Albert Hall for the final time and it was really moving. I'm sure Bowie would have been proud of Trent's rendition
seriously probably watched that too many times
@@charrro7 them singing it together, even through death, was really nice but really heartbreaking
I love that Atticus was added as an official member, but goddamn it add Robin to some studio sessions. Love his vocals on Shit Mirror, and always loved his guitar style.
Robin is a geetar GOD but he does so much more for NiN its not funny! I love Robin for what he has done so far so long!
I think he did help quite a bit on the Quake soundtrack, along with some other NIN live members.
His collaboration is more for live performances, in studio Trent does most of the guitar parts
Robin has been part of NIN live performance for so long, he should be a official member. He’s sick on those guitars 🎸
And honestly, add Ilan while your at it, one of the most skilled drummers I’ve ever heard.
And All That Could Have Been hits harder live.
I know. I want to find a youtube video of just that
One of my all time favorites and yes the live version is even better.
Jealousy
Never seen it live before and I've caught them Many times. Wow
i've been looking for live version on youtube since 2008 and it's only third time i open this video and the playlist. struck me hard af
3 of the rarest, in demand cuts in one set - Perfect Drug, Happiness in Slavery, and And All That Could Have Been - as well as other rare gems like All The Love In The World...just epic....people have been asking for TPD and AATCHB for 20 years+....
I believe this is spliced together from the 3 NOLA shows, I don't think it's a continuous recording of one night/show. Doesn't make it any less awesome, though.
I thought and all it could have been was only at the second chicago show? I was sad no perfect drug but that made up for it. If im wrong oh well, i disnt dig thru the whole tours setlist.
Yep i was wrong, chicago was just the first time. Makes it even more special for me, amazing show. Hadnt seen them sinxe fragility with APC in indy decades ago
Was thinking "Happiness in Slavery" is a rare live song
He needed Ilan on drums to play The Perfect Drug's breakdown hahaha.
Was so happy I went to first and second night in NOLA, but that first night really was the one for me. So damn good. And a perfect setlist imo.

I've never heard a live version of "And All That Could Have Been" before now. I was not prepared for how hard it was going to hit me today...
damn! that was intense!
Watching the debut performance in Chicago was life changing. I was in shock, watching live, yet teary eyed watching footage of what i witnessed. It was intense, indeed.
@@EMdemo Yes I was there too, once you heard the sax...
It is probably my favourite NIN song. I would kill to hear and see it live.
@8Paul7
Oh I wish you could have. I saw it at the Paladium shows in LA and broke down crying. It was so cathartic, and that night, I was able to finally let go of something that I’d been hanging onto for years, and now I’m not dragging around that pain anymore. I don’t know if you can relate to this, but it completely changed my life, we stupid as that might sound. I hope you get to see it live someday, I really, really do 🖤
Saw NIN in 1991 when I was 20 years old at the first Lollapalooza tour. Had no idea what I was in for. Turned out to be a 30+ year obsession with the music. Long live Trent.
💯🤍 awesome! I have loved them since 1999. In 2001, 17 yr old me would write "God is dead, no one cares" over and over on my note pads when I was bored in my junior math class. Haha
Now I'm heavily spiritual and trust and believe in our God and also blast NIN on a Friday morning to get pumped up.
Shit. What a great life experience!
Wow, "The Perfect Drug" live kills just as much as Trent was always afraid that it might not for all of these years... helps when you bring a bazooka to a knife fight in the form of Ilan Rubin.
Amen! I’m sure I remember Trent saying years ago that they didn’t play it, as the middle section would make a drummers arms fall off! Such respect for Ilan.
Josh Freese would have nailed it if they had played it during his tenure.
without him everything would have fallen apart ;)
This was the song that drew me to NIN in the first place. It's quite surreal to hear\see it played live, especially the drumming section.
@@ahandsomefridge I know. I'm jealous. I've seen them every time they've come to my city and this was the unicorn song I was looking for.
Wow! Robin Finck singing Shit Mirror actually sounds amazing! It has a certain rough touch to it, which I really like.
There's nothing quite as perfect as Trent Reznor on a goddamn saxophone.
i wasn't ready for "And All that Could Have Been" live
"And all that could have been" translated very good live.
Thank you again for allowing the archive to host and preserve your edit for years to come. An awesome addition! :)
least its not kyuss
Dude, Trent just gave you a shout-out in his email to everyone. That's amazing.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, The Roadhouse is proud to welcome
THE Nine Inch Nails"
Used to hate it. Now I love it.
Lol
I absolutely despise it when presenters introduce them as ''The'' Nine Inch Nails
It's a great troll towards the more OCD-minded fans ;)
@@michaelrmanley It makes me giggle in a lame, mom-joke sort of way like when I say I'm going to "the Walmart for groceries". Like it's not funny, it's dumb but that's what makes it funny to me. Also, annoying OCD fans is sort of fun too. Hey, it's been a weird year. Let's get our laughs where we can get them, right?
I saw this tour at Radio City Music Hall, a very unlikely venue for a NIN show, but it was still awesome AF. We had seats in the first row of the balcony and a tremendous view.
Subterraneans with the God Break Down the Door lyrics is amazing. What a treat.
Absolutely beautiful
For a fan-made recording of this show, the multiple camera angles (you had to have planned this out) and most importantly the AUDIO is totally excellent. It's cool that Trent pimped this out in his newsletter himself, but on the strength of this show, I hope he releases an official concert blu-ray after the tour resumes in 2021. The last show released officially was Beside You In Time and there's been so much great new material since then. Do it, Trent!
I don't think he will ever do an "official" Blu-Ray again, he seems well into letting fans make their own concerts, he has before put up HD vids of the bands shows online to let fans edit together their own sets and I think he will do again- which I think is an awesome approach to it- his soundtrack work seems to mean his attitude towards NIN is now something he does for his own enjoyment and more importantly for us fans our pleasure too- long may it continue
Also the new stuff sounds incredible live. Better than the records I think. Less Than is so immense on this show.
So, what would you think ir this is an "official" recording that Trent Made? But published under The name of "videotape"? It would be conspiranoic? Hehehehehe
@@ronnycarrillo4741 I love what Trent said in the newsletter. "How the fuck did you do that"?
I love how Trent encourages this type of stuff from his fans, and you're right, it's been forever since there's been an official show released on dvd/blu. This could be the next one.
I love this. The aesthetics (black & white, grainy, shaky cam) they already used for official show recordings lend themselves perfectly for fan recordings, making them seem rather high-quality and fitting. Not to deny the effort at all-the product is incredible! I could've mistaken this for something from NIN HQ.
Is True!

Thank you. For those of us who do not live in the United States and can only dream of seeing NIN live again, this material is gold. Thank you for giving us your time, your skills and your time. Thanks for much love. Thanks, total

OMG SUBTERRANEANS??
I can't count how many times I've watched this intently and/or listened to this in the background. A masterpiece, everyone who contributed should feel exceptionally proud.
Did anyone else freak out at this tour when they played The Perfect Drug? That was the highlight of the show for me. Such an awesome song that everyone had given up on hearing live.
Robin taking over tambourine duty in All the Love In the World is fantastic. I fucking love this band.
Seeing Trent give All The Love In The World and Happiness In Slavery a chance live like this makes me really happy. Really hope he keeps them around going forward- Perfect Drug slapped too, what a rager lol.
Ilan on the drums... The Perfect Drug... HOLY FUCKING SHIT everytime time I see/hear it I get the damn chills and manly tears start to form...
And singing bv’s too! The guy is amazing to watch live.
Ilan is super talented! His New Regime stuff is great too, but yeah the drumming on here, especially The Perfect Drug was outstanding!
I would claim this is one of the best NIN live playlists of all time!
I agree that it's an amazing setlist but there's not enough _The Fragile_ in my opinion.
Tbh, there isn't enough The Fragile even in The Fragile :D I just can't have enough of it such a masterpiece amirite xD
Oh my god... the rendition of The Perfect Drug is OUTSTANDING!!!
"Less Than" sounded really good live on here. Very underrated hit.
For a fan-made job, the overall quality is exceptional. Love the black and white.
32:52 Ilan Rubin is a BEAST! Ha! at the end of this segment/"solo" he walks off for a deserved break.
Correction: He leaves his kit and goes to the keyboard. Multitasking eemm-effer. You can see his silhouette to the right of Atticus' shoulder. I mean... he physically reproduced what Trent created in the studio almost 30 years ago. SuperBEAST.
Your work, and Trent's praise for it, is the way this industry would treat itself. Congratulations on this, it's a huge achievement and will make a lot of people happy. You should be very proud of yourself.
the perfect drug has such a grindy and gut wrenching ending, makes me feel like the world is being torn away from my hands.
It raises goosebumps on my arms every time
I feel the same
Ilan absolutely smashed it on drums too
and all that could have been live... im in pieces rn, that song saved me as a kid
The lighting effects for Reptile were amazing. Literally looked like fire was blazing across the stage the way the lights interacted with the smoke effects. Absence of concerts this year is a big hole- hopefully to be filled next year...
Might as well add to the “Trent brought me here posts”. High praise indeed! He’s impressed and it looks awesome! Will definitely be giving this a watch 🤘🏻👍🏻
I remember the bass for reptile hit so hard, felt like Godzilla was marching towards you!
Smothered in the mosh pit, swimming with bodies, cascading along with the force and inertia of the crowd entirely, rarely ever standing foot in one place for more than a few seconds at a time, wrestling a foot or leg or head off my head from a passing crowdsurfer, floating towards the front barricades, populated by shorter women with a wall of male protection against the moshers... being right in the midst of that insanity with Trent and co. playing Reptile was a truly phenomenal and physically liberating experience!! (San.Francisco, Dec.2018, BillGrahamCivicCenter - kickass concert
Wow the segue from Subterraneans to The Frail... 😎
I cried rewatching this 🙏🏽 it meant SO MUCH to me as PHM got me THRU IT growing up and I just- I just- yessss
From the first lollapalooza to Woodstock 94 to this, what an insanely amazing span of a career and contribution to music performance history.
My god Less Than is absolutely incredible live
Makes me miss live NIN, hopefully we will get one more tour, if not Im still blown away with the last Cleveland show, great work.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This project deserves Grammy consideration, despite how we all feel about that corrupt entity.
Just got into NIN. Watched this multiple times and didn't realise it wasn't official 🤣class job 👍🏼
Amazing job on this! Only track I wish was also included is Burning Bright (Field On Fire). Love that song, especially live.
Same
And also "The Background World"
Saw them in 2018 for the sixth time, it was my favorite show ever. I couldn’t believe I saw them perform both All That Could Have Been and The Perfect Drug plus the Bowie cover.
once in a very blue moon, music makes me feel quite like this
Brilliant editing. You’ve given me a kick in the pants I needed to redo the early show I edited with the better quality video which I enhanced and upscaled. I kept talking myself out of putting in the time again, but after seeing the effort you did! Thanks.
Oh my freaking GOD this is the BEST SHOW by far!
Still watching
That drum solo on Perfect Drug..... 👌
You can just tell they're really feeling the mood of the music. It's cool to see the artists vibing the same way I do to their music when they play.
Trent, I dont know if you'll see this. Probably not. But here I am on the verge of deciding what life is and what it's worth. Your music can make me feel excited and exhilarated and straight to broken and depressed in a matter of seconds. I know I have a problem, I dont know what to do anymore. This year is testing me everyday. I live alone and this pandemic has only amplified the loneliness. I'm scared of myself, the only reason I dont want to go is because I know how disappointed my family and friends would be. Please give me a sign to keep going.
Sincerely,
JD
@jcd780 I hope you're okay
Absolutely amazing. The first 3 NIN albums have a very special place for me and I have struggled with later stuff, but hearing this maybe has unlocked it a bit for me. So glad I was able to see them even if it was years ago. Hopefully now there's talk of more music, they will tour again.
Jesus Christ, Ilan.
Watching them do Perfect Drug live will never ever get old. I have always wanted to see it. So, thank you for making this unbelievable recording of it. This setlist is honestly just perfect.
Also, we see you Robin. And, as always, appreciate you.
I think I've watched/heard nothing but this show for over a month straight so far. Definitely once a day.
This isn’t the place is one of his best songs in the last 20 years.
Damn... Those Bowie songs were great!
There are just so many great songs by the Almighty Reznor
I agree, after I listened to it the first time I thought it was the best NIN track since The Fragile was released.
That song hits me hard, I lost an old friend of mine from high school a few years ago. We bonded over NIN and went to a ton of shows together. When I first hear that song I lost it, but it helped to give me a little closure.
Add Violence is a pure masterpiece.
Just watched this........how many years later. Great editing and camera grabs. Impressive
finally quality audio!
WOW. I haven't caught a NIN vid in a while. Was Reptile fucking EPIC or what. I wish they'd do Burn- it's like my favorite non played NIN nail tune. Oh, have to paraphrase what another commenter said= This was magnificently shot. Love the Black and White/ Loved the Grainy Feel/ Loved the smoke and everything. Just a great Live performance.
I've had this on repeat play whilst I've been working the past few days. Only just now realised it was fan-made. Absolutely top work, absolutely feels like one concert, audio is fantastic, and it feels super on-brand for NIN. 👏👏👏🙏
Oh cool, I didn't even know about this. Thanks for the acknowledgement in the credits and for using my videos, It was awesome seeing this show back to back nights at Red Rocks
Trent sounds amazing these days. I guess playing under 2 hour sets and taking it a bit easier during some screaming parts really equalizes his performance during the singing parts. When I saw him live last year his voice sounded more youthful than in 2009
Dude, wtf have you done... This is incredible, wow...
This is one of Trent's better Reptile performances, one of his best in fact.
Phenomenal recording in black and white. Amazing NIN set !!
Wow, well this was amazing! And you got official NIN recognition on twitter! Never realised they performed AATCHB live, nearly cried! and that Perfect Drug drum solo and Trent on sax! :0
Fuck that was such a good Happiness in Slavery!
"What am I supposed to do I got EPILEPSY because of you

LOL. Brilliant.
I’m epileptic too, what a piece of shit!!

Saw this tour at the Palladium in Los Angeles and it was one of, if not the best show I have ever seen.
Black and white and grainy was the perfect touch. Well done.
i saw this live 🥺🖤 one of the best nights of my life i need to see them again
Man his vocals are on point this show
Bookending the Bad Witch tracks with the Lynch/drum and bass of Perfect Drug and the Bowie tribute is some fantastic contextualizing for that record. This video is amazing, and a lot of it is the choice of what songs to keep.
Constructing the setlist and doing the audio transitions to make it feel like a unique performance took almost as much time as the video editing itself
Damn! Praise from Trent. Good job to everyone involved, and thanks for sharing!
Best live band I’ve ever seen, smashed everything on stage throughout the show, tossing mic stands, slamming into each other, it was nuts (I’m not even a huge fan).
Not sure how many times I've watched this, but it doesn't get old. This is some fantastic work, Videotape. Thanks!
The mood king. Leaving hope is one of my favorites.
Trent send us here and as usual, Trent's right. This is absolutely mind blowing. Much better than most of official live videos I've seen. Thank you so much for this.
Fist Fuck....the quality of this is....profitable and measured. I am glad you shared it. thank you.
I love how Trent is playing live a song in "I Can't Give Everything Away" that we would likely never hear played live otherwise. Wish it were otherwise.
Dude. This is my favorite Nine Inch Nails live performance/recording I’ve seen in every measurable capacity. No wonder Trent flipped 😍😝🥳
Saw NIN on this tour. I was pleasantly surprised. I saw them for the 1st time 20 years ago. I thought meh, Trent probably isn't able to kill it anymore. I f'n ate crow a year and a half ago. The most awesome, intense show ever. Bow down.
TRENT KILLS IT ALWAYS!
This is absolutely insane!! I just read the comment saying it's multiple shows - but if this was one cohesive set, it's easily the best NIN set after the year 2000!! Insane, insane video!! Thank you so much!! Amazing work!!
This is incredibly well done. Mad respect.
Was lucky to see them for Lights In The Sky (front row @ Value City Arena in Columbus, OH), and an outdoor NIN/JA show in PA. Missed out after that until Blossom (Cleveland/Cuyahoga Falls) on 9/24/2022. This is a really great document of the CBI tour. I really wish I would have seen one of the 2018 shows as well. Visuals and audio are perfect. Thanks for this!
glad TR acknowledged this great piece of video !
I seriously thought this was an official NIN video, great job! RUclips recommendations nailed it... literally. XD
Just... INCREDIBLE. I’m absolutely floored by this performance, despite having watched it 5 times counting, beginning to end. THANK YOU TRENT REZNOR.
subterraneans with nin lyrics IS BRILLIANT
Congratulations on impressing Trent!! Thanks for all your hard work on this.
Woooow. I've just realized that this is a fan video. Tought that was official. Amaizing work.
I think this is the best NIN concert edit I have ever seen. Plus the performance is so beautifully emotionally vulnerable. I can feel his voice in my bones, so sound quality is great too! What I've always loved about Trent is such raw authentic performance. This editing perfectly captures it good job!!!
Cool video bro! Not my fav line up but that’s how it works with this type of band
Great concert....I love NIN.....Hope to see them in 2021....
Watching this is like a full-on emotional workout. Black and blue and broken. In a good way. Immense.
Aw shit, Trent himself linked your video. Good to see some recognition for your great content. Wish he'd ever notice my NIN edits lol.
FEELS LIKE I’VE BEEN HERE BEFOOOOOOOORE
