Saw this as a kid and it gave me nightmares for years. I didn't remember the name of the movie and never found it again, until now. Thanks for posting!
Yes,but why a psychiatrist was in An operating Room with the other doctors? I cant full understand it...usually this type of doctors aren't needed in such a place...
We all have those movies that we saw his kids but can't remember the entire details. I remember a movie when I was a child wear an old man got drowned in boiling water. I remember him getting his ear crushed under the main bad guys foot afterwards but for some reason I cannot find any details of this movie even existing online
You must be thinking of Theatre of Blood, where Vincent Price disguised himself as a surgeon, and he and his daughter, who was played by Diana Rigg, snuck into a critic's bedroom and cut off his head.
@@margaretgarnto6272 Nope. It's definitely this movie I'm thinking of. I just remembered the frog's head falling off completely after the trap is engaged. I have never heard of Theater of Blood, but your description really makes me want to watch it.
@@TopCat0601 Thank you, TopCat0601, for your response to my comment about The Abominable Dr. Phibes and the frog mask. I think RUclips edited out the part where the frog mask fell off the psychiatrist's head after the trap was set and the wench on the mask caused it to strangle him, but I don't remember his head being cut off by the mask. I do remember that scene in Theatre of Blood where Vincent Price, as Shakespearean actor Edward Lionheart, snuck into a critic's bedroom and sawed off his head, so you should definitely watch that movie to see what I described to you. Thanks again, and may God bless you and keep you safe. Yours truly, Margaret Garnto.
This scene is the only one in the film where the low budget actually shows. Despite the stunning cinematography, very creative lighting and plush costumes, it is always painfully obvious that you're only looking at a staircase and some pillars on a soundstage. There are no walls, no furniture and only the barest suggestion of decoration. It comes across as surreally cartoonish as the sets on the old Batman TV series. To their credit, the director and cameraman do a masterful job of trying to distract you and disguise the lack of a real set, but whenever the camera stops moving or there is anything like a long shot, the illusion is destroyed. Throughout the rest of the film - particularly those scenes in Phibes' mansion - the lack of sets is cleverly disguised by ornate set-pieces, like the "second floor" balcony around the ballroom, the various curtained alcoves and so on. Quick cuts and multiple camera angles also help create the illusion of a vast, more complete space. Also worth looking at are the scenes in Dr. Vesalius' apartment, which are framed and filmed with amazing precision to hide the fact that it all appears to be one big room.
I loved the movie The Abominable Doctor Phibes.... The sequel Return of The Abominable Doctor Phibes was not as good..... Sequels rarely are.... This is when movies were about acting.... not guts, gore and screams.....

How intersting.. me too xD.
Same here...the 80's....what can I say
its in the title
I remember this frog mask scene. Saw it as a kid, too. And I couldn't sleep afterwards. Never saw it again until now...
Same. Just a random childhood memory from 80’s reruns lol
Just watch Price look at the camera when Hargreaves says "I'm a psychiatrist...a head shrinker!"
This movie is one of my favorites, and I never noticed that detail before. Nice catch!
PMSL! I'd never spotted that before 😁
masquerade! paper faces on parade!

So Dr.Phibes would not have been friend of Dr.Lecter.What a pity; they could have made a nice couple of professionals.

DOCTOR Phibes. He didn't spend all those years studying at Evil Medical School for you to call him Mister.

This movie was so bizarre (like many 70's films) but I liked it!
I saw this as a kid, and it scared me so much. I remember his head being cut off though, lol.

My 55 year old brother still fears frogs from this movie!!

Gotta love how everyone stands around and does nothing while he's dying - just like in real life!
So many pieces of beautiful design to dress up all of the macabre ways to die!
I hadn't seen this scene in 50 years. It still freaks me out.
This is about exactly how I feel with my head cold/sinus infection right now....
I think this high-class party would have had fancy dress on the invite or masks a must, etc.
This mask is jolly tight!
I always asked my mum why no one helped him. She said it's because no one knows what's happening.
Great scene
I'd love to make a replica of that frog mask... without the power to kill anyone, though.
The same actor wearing the frog mask was in The Asphyx (1972).

Go back to cut rate film school.
Confucius say: Man who look at window glass see dirt. Man who look through glass sees the beauty beyond.
And you could do better given the same budget, I'm sure. @_@
creepy you can hear his skull cracking as the camera eye goes red
I heard splitting headache but this is ridiculous
SAW film series were a poor sequel of this magnifique and unique chef d'oeuvre.
just kidding he got hurt by tighting his Head
