Thanks a lot! Did not get it working at first, spent a couple of hours troubleshooting and in the end it was just Wix lagging! Refreshed the site and BOOM! everything working! This was my first time even looking at velo and slowly starting to understand a little bit 😅😁

Hi everyone, for those who cant seem to run the search function. It helped me to rename the function to "find" insted of search. Also, make sure you dont have any more codes for the onclick cause it may interfeer. -Took me a couple of hours cause I havent coded anything in my life. But I hope it helps. :)

Thank you so much, It was very helpful this video. I used it and it works good with the dropdowns configured each one with its own options; but, now I have a trouble, I need to apply the same example using three cascade dropdowns that are configured with velo code because there are too many options and also because depending of what you choose in the first dropdown, in the second dropdown have to appear different options, and also depending of what you choose in the second dropdown in the third dropdown have to appear different options. First I prove your code with three dropdowns configured list and the search a reset buttons works good, then I added the velo code to give the cascade options for the three dropdowns, I can select the options on the three dropdowns and click on search button, but it cannot filter anything and the final result of the search is that it doesn´t appear anything in the repeater. First I set the collection elements that, the repeater is using, as TAGs and it didn´t appear anything in the search, so as I am using velo code for dropdown options this elements are set in the collection as text, so I set the elements of the collection that is using the repeater as text also but nothing works in the search didn´t appear anything again. I will be very gratefully if someone can show me a similar example for this case.

Thank you for the compliment! As for your question, I am sure it is possible, but I haven't personally tried. You can look at the Velo documentation for the sliders to see what they offer.
Thanks for this. I was wondering if the search filter can be applied to a gallery instead of a repeater. Can't find an answer for that anywhere as I have a gallery that is being filtered by tags, but I would like to add a search filter as well. Thanks for your vids, always helpful!

Thank you - awesome and clear instructions! Question: After the .then line 20, instead of adding the repeater to display the properties, I want the user to get redirected to an URL in the dataset when they click the search button. Is that possible? Thanks!
Is it possible to do filters where I would start writing in a search bar, for example, a name of a city and it would pop up and I would be able to choose it. And after I chose it, I could go to the next filter where i could choose other option (products, producer etc.) by the same princip as described before and the page would show me results that are combined with those two filters only? For example I choose New York, books and in the site I would see the results in New York and only books.

My repeater is connected to a collection dataset with 12+ items. The dynamic page displays the first 12 items from the collection; then, a pagination bar is required to view the next 12 items, and so on. When I select dropdown items and enter an input value, the repeater returns correct results; however, the repeater only displays items from the 12 initial items displayed. I'm required to select a pagination page to see the other items that fit the search parameters. Is it possible for the repeater to condense the items onto the first pagination page and only need a 2nd pagination page, if required? TY for any assistance.

Any chance anyone would know how to generate a link/url to a filtered dataset page? ie. I would want to send people to the directory page I've built for restaurants in the area but with the filter for 'bakeries' already pre-populated.

Did you clear cache? When ever I publish an update, I often have to reload the live page multiple times in the browser before it will update with the newly published changes.
My issue is I have 2 different databases for my For Sale listings and my For Rent listings because I display different info for them.
Is this possible to do without injecting code?
Oookay, so I've gone ahead and built my database and implemented this code to a relatively high degree of success however I've run into two issues.
1 - The reset doesn't seem to apply the "undefined" value to the dropdowns or the dataset ("dataset1" in my case) and I'm not sure why. Once reset is pressed nothing happens. At first it was because I forgot to activate the "on click" command in the properties however I've now done that and it still doesn't seem to reset. It's ok tho, as a workaround I've just hidden the Reset button all together since users can just change their inputs and hit Search again.
2 - STILL NEEDS A FIX: I have a "Gender" field with "Male" and "Female" as tags however when selecting "Male" from the dropdown and hitting Search, it then displays both Female and Male items - likely because the word "Male" is contained within "Female". I can just change the Value and Database Fields to "Men" and keep the Title as "Male" as a workaround but it's not ideal. How would we constrain this to only search for what is selected? I've tried both quotations and stars in the Value as a constraining mechanism but neither work, they seem to include it into the search perimeter and display nothing as a result... I'm out of ideas in this regard

This code isn't working for me. Does it only work on database fields that are tags?
Only one problem... for it to work I first need to go to another of my pages and return to this one and it lets me do the searches, does anyone know what's going on? It is as if, entering another page, something like variables, the dataset, the filter were loaded, I don't know
Is there a way to change the dropdown element to just buttons or a tag sorter?
I am sure its possible with different code but you can also create this effect with the new Tabs element
INCREDIBLY WELL EXPLAINED! Thank you! Quick Q (one that's not yet covered or supported by "Wicks" Repeater Elements / Database Fields) - Say for instance you have externally hosted content, such a YT video or "$oundCloud" track (something you don't want to / can't upload to "Wicks") then how does one go about incorporating that into a repeater? I can't find any answers to this - other than the "Corvid Custom Repeater" by yoavaa on "git-hub" which is a bit to vague to fully understand. "Wicks" Repeaters won't accept code elements, understandable since each one has its own path to the file but it's ridiculous that they won't just add a field option for code / embedding! I could just "hyper-link" it but I really don't want to "re-direct" my audience to another platform.. How would *you* go about accomplishing this? code it all from scratch? If so, could you PLEASE make one of these epic tutorials on it? Or perhaps a quick one on how to use that "git-hub" code from Yoavaa?

You should be able to use links from RUclips or Soundcloud. Just use a video or music element that links to a database.

Hello! My reset button didn't work until I replaced onclick with double click. Any idea why this might have happened and how should I fix it?
Try adding the onClick again from the even handlers instead of copying my code (if that is what you did). That should fix the issue.
Weirdly, at 16:28 the setFilter isn't working, it says that it doesn't exist. I've copied everything exactly but it just won't work
Let's say I have like 100 tags (for subjects people tutor). This method of manually making dropdown items that match all those tags seems onerous. Any alternatives you can think of, like some way to make a text search field suggest tags from the collection as the user types?
I had another thought: is it possible to have multiple labels reference the same value? Let's say I put calculus, algebra, trigonometry, etc as labels, but all of those have math as the value. Then when somebody filters via drop down they will just see the different values for broad subjects like math, science, English, etc. They will get a list of all the tutors who are tagged with any tag that has their broad subject selection as the value, and will be able to visually scan the profiles displayed for which types of math they teach, for example. Do you think that would work?
I'm actually guessing not because it's the value that has to align with the data set

The Code is not working at all. Orz.....
I worked on mine for two days trying to get it to work, but no good. So I deleted the entire thing, started over, copied the information directly, and went step by step, and....still did not work. Called Wix, but they couldn't get it going either. UGH! 14 hours, and it won't work, and I know it's something simple.
