I am building a writers website. I have the same problem. What I want to create is the same dropdown button, that will display a list of data depending on the selection. I did create the database, I did the same thing in the editor mode, but this time I used from the add + , in list I chose a blank repeater and create the design which is how the content should be displayed. Now, when it comes to link the dataset, the database, the button, I am having errors or it's not working. ####### THE information that needs to be filtered based on the dropdown selection, are story contents depending the version of the book or story. EXAMPLE: If book 1 is selected, then book 1 episodes should be displayed. But if I change my mind and decide to select book 2 instead of book 1, then all the contents from book 2 should be displayed. NOW IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET A CLEARLY EXPLANATION HOW TO CREATE THIS TYPE OF FEATURE? At least what I am missing?

Well done! I've been struggling with it for a week until I finally found your material. Is it possible to add several photos to one title? For example, the title: all domain and shows me 19 pictures, merketing: shows me 5 pictures, the simulation shows me two pictures, etc. Is it to be done ??
Yes, you can add as many if you do it directly from the back end. Let me know if you have questions. also make sure inside the database you have selected gallery not just image.
@@wixepicsolutions I added. Everything works. Unfortunately, only in preview. When I publishes the page, no picture is displayed. Everything is perfect in the preview, photos and descriptions are shown for the selected topic. Tomorrow I will write to the support on this matter.
@@digitaldesignstudio547 Make sure to check the permissions under the database settings sometimes if you have it private it wont show. let me know if you still need help. another thing is sometimes you have to publish to be able to see changes on the database. But check the permissions first.

there are 2 ways one is adding a dataset and then connecting to a button to reset, this will reset search, the other is adding a button and connecting it to the same page is not the best solution but it will restart the search, to make it the right way reach me here vitzael.com and i can help you because there are a few steps that in this comment won't be easy to explain how to get it done.

@@wixepicsolutions If you have the chance it would be great! I added “URL” column in content manager and it works if I copy paste the page from my site I want to open. BUT it opens in a new tab and there’s no option to change this which is a bit of a problem and I see it causing complications say when I purchase my domain I’ll need to change all the links. You can make gallery media open in the same tab but if I had my content in a gallery it doesn’t have the name and description under which I archived with you tutorial! :-)

This is fantastic information. You explained this simple database creation so well. My question is could I use this same technique to create a member directory? I want to place it behind a login so only member's that have access can view the contact information. I guess the dropdown would have to be the alphabet A - B or something like that or even add a search field for when you know the person's actual name. Any thoughts!? Again, thank you so much.
Yes it is possible the only thing that changes is where you add all the items or you can also change permissions in the settings of the page to ask members only. For the alphabet you can set filters, inside the database to display old to new or A - B the search field needs to be code to display content from the database. Tell me more about what exactly you want to do, i will do a video on it because currently working on the search bar video.

yes, the easiest way is to add a button an connected to the dataset then select reset value this will do exactly that or using code this option takes more time but it does it automatically. Would you like to see an option with code?
Thank you for creating this video, it was extremely helpful! I do have a question, what if a dish is two types of food, for example like Mexican and Italian. Is it possible to code that? For more context, I am filtering a projects page engineering projects. I added a dropdown menu to the page, filtering by the projects sector. This works for the projects that belong to one sector for example a building that is just Historical. A lot of the projects I have are belong in multiple sectors for example a building that is Historical and Government. Is there a certain way I should list the sectors on the content manager table (I currently have it listed like: Historical, Government)? or is there something I can do to the code?

Ok , so i've followed this and It worked almost great except one thing. I have videos in my gallery, so my field key and field type is set to video.. When i click on a picture in the gallery the video opens in a new tab , and its just raw.. How can i make it open in expand mode?

Thanks a lot for this, really great content! I have done one drop down menu and one tag menu and I want them to both work together on the same content. It is for an event calendar. The tags filter for category of event and the drop down menu filters for month. I can now choose for example to see only the concert events and only the events in for example January. However the I cannot filter for both of the at the same time, meaning showing only concerts events in the month of January. The can only work seperately. My question is: how do I write the code so that the two filters work together? Would really appreciate an answer!! Thanks a lot beforehand :)

Hey! Im looking to referance page, and filter like this. But I would like to have it so if I filter two different things, it will filer out all the other stuff. So if i want a "Easy cook" and "Italian" It will only show me "easy cook" "italian" meals, and not just a list of "easy cook" and "italian" food. Is there a easy fix for this? :)

@@wixepicsolutions I’m using the selection tags for an online clothing store and I want to each selection in the tag to trigger a drop down to another tag for example on my contact page I’m going to have a menu made made up of buttons in a container boxes (for example the order menu will have a button in a container box the shipping menu will have its own button in a container box) I want each menu option to trigger the drop down of the selection tags specific to the menu option selected and when a specific tag is selected it triggers the drop down of another or a group of selection tags depending on what was selected.

Yes, there is 2 ways, one by adding a button connecting it to the same dataset and the selecting reset values, the other options is using code, you don't need to add any button an it will reset itself every time a search has been done. now if you decide you want use code it has to be completed without the filters , let me know and i can send you a video on how to get it done.
The first thing is to create a database, inside the database you need to add the fields to storage the images or videos, once that is done the current gallery you have becomes just a shell any pictures you have there will just be place holders because connecting it to the dataset will pull the images from the database. if you have your link i can make a video about it.
Hi there! I'm trying to do this on my website. What I offer is an e-card with different occasions and I wanted to filter it by occasion. As of now, I have 14 images in my gallery and I only want to show only 6 images with clickable buttons which are connected to another data form to fill out the donation for the e-card my visitors wanted to get. You can move it to a free wix hosting then forward your domain to the wix domain. Everything will work fine, i have clients who have it like that

there are 2 ways one is adding a dataset and then connecting to a button to reset, this will reset search, the other is adding a button and connecting it to the same page is not the best solution but it will restart the search, to make it the right way reach me here vitzael.com and i can help you because there are a few steps that in this comment won't be easy to explain how to get it done.

@@wixepicsolutions If you have the chance it would be great! I added “URL” column in content manager and it works if I copy paste the page from my site I want to open. BUT it opens in a new tab and there’s no option to change this which is a bit of a problem and I see it causing complications say when I purchase my domain I’ll need to change all the links.
You can make gallery media open in the same tab but if I had my content in a gallery it doesn’t have the name and description under which I archived with you tutorial! :-)

This is fantastic information. You explained this simple database creation so well. My question is could I use this same technique to create a member directory? I want to place it behind a login so only member's that have access can view the contact information. I guess the dropdown would have to be the alphabet A - B or something like that or even add a search field for when you know the person's actual name. Any thoughts!? Again, thank you so much.
Yes it is possible the only thing that changes is where you add all the items or you can also change permissions in the settings of the page to ask members only. For the alphabet you can set filters, inside the database to display old to new or A - B the search field needs to be code to display content from the database. Tell me more about what exactly you want to do, i will do a video on it because currently working on the search bar video.
Works great for one filter, but when i add another it cancels out the first one and nothing works. Is there aditional code that needs to be input? I need to keep the results from first filter they selected aswell

I have multiple filters on the same page. I followed your tutorial for a single filter and it worked but how do I setup multiple filters at once? I tried copy and pasting the code below and changed the values but it didn't work properly. Like it was overwriting the selected tags from the first filter.

For more context, I am filtering a projects page engineering projects. I added a dropdown menu to the page, filtering by the projects sector. This works for the projects that belong to one sector for example a building that is just Historical. A lot of the projects I have are belong in multiple sectors for example a building that is Historical and Government. Is there a certain way I should list the sectors on the content manager table (I currently have it listed like: Historical, Government)? or is there something I can do to the code?

In your example, the user searches for Mexican, clicks on Tacos to explore more info, and has a back button to go back to the Mexican result page?

I see that from what have you done, you can filter images, but what about products, a Grid gallery? Ok , so i've followed this and It worked almost great except one thing. I have videos in my gallery, so my field key and field type is set to video.. When i click on a picture in the gallery the video opens in a new tab , and its just raw.. How can i make it open in expand mode?

Thanks a lot for this, really great content! I have done one drop down menu and one tag menu and I want them to both work together on the same content. It is for an event calendar. The tags filter for category of event and the drop down menu filters for month. I can now choose for example to see only the concert events and only the events in for example January. However the I cannot filter for both of the at the same time, meaning showing only concerts events in the month of January. The can only work seperately. My question is: how do I write the code so that the two filters work together? Would really appreciate an answer!! Thanks a lot beforehand :)

Hey! Im looking to referance page, and filter like this. But I would like to have it so if I filter two different things, it will filer out all the other stuff. @@wixepicsolutions I’m using the selection tags for an online clothing store and I want to each selection in the tag to trigger a drop down to another tag for example on my contact page I’m going to have a menu made made up of buttons in a container boxes (for example the order menu will have a button in a container box the shipping menu will have its own button in a container box) I want each menu option to trigger the drop down of the selection tags specific to the menu option selected and when a specific tag is selected it triggers the drop down of another or a group of selection tags depending on what was selected.

What if you have an existing gallery already? How do I make that gallery and that image be imported to the DATA SHEET?
The first thing is to create a database, inside the database you need to add the fields to storage the images or videos, once that is done the current gallery you have becomes just a shell any pictures you have there will just be place holders because connecting it to the dataset will pull the images from the database. if you have your link i can make a video about it.

Hi there! I'm trying to do this on my website. What I offer is an e-card with different occasions and I wanted to filter it by occasion.
