** Plot
Continuing the plot of Half-Life 2 and Episode One, Episode Two consists of seven chapters telling the story of Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance's journey to a large resistance base called White Forest. The Combine's Earth-stationed forces have used the destruction of the Citadel to begin opening a massive super portal, through which their army will be able to invade once it reaches critical size. However, as explained by Dr. Kleiner's broadcast in Episode One, it has also inflicted a portal and communications blackout, leaving the Combine isolated and disorganized in the meantime. In addition, Combine Advisors, some of them still unhatched from their pods, are scattered about the region after evacuating the Citadel. A crucial part of the plot is the transmission packet which the Combine sacrificed the Citadel to send, copied by Alyx and Gordon before making their escape. It contains data on the formation of the super portal, which the resistance can use to collapse the portal before it forms completely.

I love the dialogue.

the reason why I like longplays is because they show the game instead of just beating it and showing how to. the people who'll never be able to play it get to see all the good details.

In my opinion HL2 (with its Addons) is the best game which has ever been made. The emotions the characters show are just breathtaking. I've never seen any other game where you can really feel with the characters, like in HL2.
i love this game, there's something about Half-Life that just makes me want to get as comfortable as possible because i know im not going to move for the next few hours

if you notice the Vorts in half life 2... they do not have those 'neck-band' thing around them which was shown in half life 1.... killing the Nihilanth in first part freed them and as a debt and gratitude they joined the humans. ;)
The ant chasing scene actually gets you pretty scared when you know hes so close behind you!

I truly believe Half Life 3 has been delayed so much because Valve is preparing to absolutely shock everyone with something so far ahead of every other game that it will literally blow our minds. Just look at the jump from Half-Life 1 to 2 and Ep.1-2. Half Life 3......... I'm counting on you changing my gaming life for a 3rd straight time... And I can't friggin wait :)

The gravity gun is extremely heavy and the only reason Gordon can hold it with ease is because of the HEV suit.

the thing with the gravity gun is because unlike Gordon, she isn't immune to the laws of physics
Okay, if you really want to analyze this, here's how I see it: For all we know, the gravity gun could weigh five times more than a shotgun. The HEV suit could have assisting servos to make the bearer stronger. Secondly, bullets don't have that much momentum, which is why you can handle a recoil. A door accelerating to 40 mph gets a huge momentum, which should go straight back to the wielder of the gravity gun, probably knocking them down. Again, servos and weight can help against this.
well Half-Life Wikia did mention something about, that killing the final boss in the original "Half-Life" frees the Vortigaunts' minds, or something to that effect

But to be honest I rather wait a tiny bit longer and have an epic game, than something mediocre just to have something published quick.

I can't believe more people don't consider this to be the best FPS. I guess because it's not that long of a game. Well let me just say, I would rather play an amazing game that is short rather than a long game that is good or just okay . games like Halo and Crysis wish they where this amazing

The game is about a dystopian Earth ruled by alien overlords that simply want the end of humanity. I don't know about you, but I would call this a serious game. It can actually teach a lot about our own societies.

If this is how this person feels comfortable, then leave leave them to it. That's the idea of setting custom controls. The consoles give you probably 4 alternatives and that's your lot.
I use WASD, but I also use R/mouse for change weapon and L/Alt for aiming/alternate fire. I'm used to this set up. And I'm sure the person is used to this set up.
I feel sorry for those who do not know about custom controls and play 100% default.
We shouldn't have to be contortionists to play games...
I'm kind of confused. Alyx throws some bad ass punches, kicks and shoot shotguns, yet it's difficult for her to lift the gravity gun. :P
btw I'm really hoping that Valve will surprise us in the next couple of years with a new Half Life project. The HL game series is part of gaming history and all instalments are among the best games ever. It would be a pity if they throw this out of the window. :-/ Playing Half Life is like watching an amazing film plus the whole interaction-thing.

This still doesn't make sense. :D She shoots with that shotgun (that in reality has quite a kick and it's not as heavy as a feather!) like it's nothing. As for Gordon - of course, he has his cool suit with - pause for effect - an integrated flash light, zoom, jump boosting etc.
i know this dosent really matter, especially since this video came out a year ago but could you or somebody tell me the specs for your rig

@MrRookie26 look at the time for this video. It only took this person an hour and twenty three minutes to beat this. I don't mean half life 2 which is also better than every other fps game but rather just this episode, episode 2.
