Correct about the 'nothing wrong with the island itself' - unfortunately you'll never accurately describe the true cause of why it's such a dystopian hellscape or how truly messed up it actually is, it took generations to build it to it's glory and it'll take generations to restore it, if ever, not in my lifetime! Instead a thought which recurs in my mind often as I weigh up the sentimental thoughts about cutting myself off from my roots as I leave this hellhole - "You don't have to settle for where you were born" or words to that effect.
Super interesting, thank you for sharing. I hadn't thought about the amount of time to turn it around, if that is even indeed possible. I love the notion of: "You don't have to settle for where you were born" - I agree with this wholeheartedly.
50/50 👍 Half i agree with, half I don't. As a Brit living in Thailand and Vietnam, I haven't run away from the UK, I've run towards a better, happier life somewhere else. As for the UK being the best place in world in the summer, not a chance, I can think of dozens of countries far better in the summer with much nicer, friendlier people, less doom and gloom and never having to look over my shoulder for who might attack me, whether it's sunny or not. 👍 If I'm alone in the countryside or the coast, the UK is as good as anywhere but as soon as people are around I'm much more cautious cause there are so many nutters in the UK now, you don't know who is who. I'm never living in the UK again and I don't miss it one bit even after 8 years away. The country is finished, it's done, it's over and I ain't going back. 👍
You guys are a bit slow, I made the move in 98 - could see the writing on the wall then. The De ep State was obviously in assent while the people were completely asleep.
I retired 9 years ago after 18 years in the Army and 25 years in the police force. I could see the writing on the wall back then and was lucky enough to be able to build a house in northern Chiang Rai and live a life with very little stress, cheap standard of living, great people and a lifestyle you could only dream about back in the UK. It's not perfect (nothing ever is) and there are challenges but, they can be overcome with relative ease. It isn't for everybody and there is a lot of adapting but, if you are willing to make a few sacrifices, it's a great place to live.
Sounds like a lovely life mate! Agreed, nothing is ever perfect, and we all get desensitised to what we have eventually. But like you said...you have now, what would only ever be a dream for most in then UK
@@trippinwitgeorge I liked it, but then, depends what you're looking for. Chilled little city, with stunning surrounding countryside and mountains. I can remember many laid-back afternoons with Thai friends down at the Chiang Rai bowl (sadly now RIP since covid), or going out to the "Singha park". Stay in a cheap little hotel with stunning views of the Kong, and cycle along its banks, or cross into Laos for a couple of days. I tend to favour Philippines these days, but I miss Chiang Rai - a lot.
I’m one year into starting my own business in the u.k which is going amazing, and it is a job I really love doing. I am fortunate enough to not be feeling any pressure from the increased cost of living. The only issue is the country feels like it's falling apart around me. Not many people smile anymore and the general feeling here is that the ship is sinking. I don’t want to abandon my hard work and start again but it’s looking like that will happen. It’s going to be a particularly tough winter for people after the weather this summer. I just want to live in a place where people smile.
Congrats on the business man! I agree, it just feels like it's on such a decline...is there anything you could do to outsource/hire/delegate, etc to maybe help you spend a little but of time overseas?
I left and live in Thailand 8 years ago now with my 2 kids and a thai wife. Ready cooked meals in the big c supermarket can be bought for 25 baht or 30 baht. In 7 11 they are between 37 baht to 49 baht. Minimun Wages have not gone up here in 13 years. Nationals can buy or build a house for between £20k up country to £125k for a big 4 bed house on the outskirts of bkk. Foreigners can buy condos freehold anywhere for aout £20k upwards or cheaper to rent out for a minimum of 100 pounds a month and invest your caoutal in gold to double your return in 5 years. Houses amd land only go up 10% a year here. It is a different housing market to uk as only thais can buy land and houses. Food street meals is still available at 30 baht....the same prices as 30 years ago. Tesco lotus food court food is from 30 baht to 65 baht. Cars start at £7k for a suzuki celerio manual or 319,000 baht. New. A honda civic costs 1m baht. And mg5 costs 590,000 baht. Most smaller cars are from 500,000 to 600,000 baht.
I can't lie i love the UK but it feels like thinking about an ex gf, you know who you think back and only remember all the good things but if you ever got back together it'd be awful. I think i just miss what we used to be
I became nomadic 9 years ago, you made a good choice my friend… UK is not where it’s at. There is an entire world and life of nourishment beyond the cage that is the west.
Worst thing about the UK for me is the decline of service quality. I can deal with things getting more expensive but if the service also goes down it's just too much.
Your thumbnail is bang on. I did it 3,4 years ago and have never looked back. I ride around bkk leaving my belongings on my bike, sometimes overnight AND nobody would think on stealing. The uk has imported so many bad eggs it's totally f×£ked, RIP UK
Crime was way worse in the uk. Very low murder rate , mass killing rate, violent crime….. And it’s mainly in a few hotspots that no one needs to go near. Thailand is definitely not safer.

Yes mate. I know a UK couple who sold their house and leave for Thailand in January. I have 4 friends from UK who moved there too. I defo wanna leave the UK, don’t want my beautiful sons growing up in this shit hole, they deserve better. Just trying to decide wether to go Thailand, Dubai or Spain. Not sure yet but Thailand seems like a great option. Thanks for the honest insight 🤝
Yoyo. Man, it is good. Certainly better. Perfect, absolutely not. But I'd say, as long as you have the cash to fly home and see friends and family on the regs...the weather, the accommodation, city/jungle/island life..it is amazing. I spent a month in Dubai 3 months ago and it was okay. For me, Thailand tops it, purely from a taste perspective. Thanks for watching man - and good luck with the channel!
Thanks George for this video. I'm so so down at the moment. I feel so lost and at times almost suicidal. The uk is a shadow of its former self and the societal decline that has taken place here makes it an awful place to live on top of extreme cost of living. I think I'm going o thailand to soak up some of the energy
As George said "if he can do it, anyone can do it". I was once in a dark place, like you, and made drastic changes and improved my life. You can too. Life is for living so give Thailand a try and be 100% commited. Wishing you well.
Chin up man! It is always darkest before the dawn, and dawn comes every day. You can do anything you put your mind to. Just 1 foot in front of the other, and before you know it you'll be shocked at how far you came.
Congratulations on an excellent video on a complex and nuanced subject, George. If you cover a topic like this, at this stage of your channel, and nail it so well, you are an exceptional content creator. Keep up the excellent work 👏🏼
We need to get enough of the blue haired girls to vote for Trump at least for now. If he doesn’t win, I fear it’s the actual beginning of the end of our empire. Sad that we are living through one of the greatest countries ever to be, and seeing it potentially collapse at the hands of the corrupt
6:00 exactly how i feel, spent a bunch of time travelling over the years, would go back to UK see everybody I know, nothings changed, ill fit right back in but... then I wont, after enough time I'm thinking about whats on the other side of the sea, way better life, I cant keep just hanging out doing nothing going pub few occasional get together etc, but life is short so I keep hopping abroad coming back until 2 years ago, went over to bail long term then now in Mexico, this is what lives all about for some of us, making the most of it, building my business and its fantastic being on US timezone for it, I'm on the coast, the same rent I pay for a nice apartment not far from everything, beach, pool on roof, is how much I was paying for a shared flat in east London lol, I'm in the best health of my life both physical and mental, cant stop now got to keep going, I love this... but I do think about friends n family sometime as the connections back home are always different, but I do notice more peace being away from all the small social politics of people gossiping about each other, people in my business etc, something about it... quick rant... i can tell over the next 10 years this is only gonna get bigger with people moving abroad from uk
I'm thai and have been living with my british husband in the uk for over 12 years now. I used to really love it here. Because of the weather! 😅 it's much cooler here! But in the last few years, i started to feel different! Yes, it's still much cooler, but... it's very miserable! Especially, this time of year. I haven't seen the sun for almost 2 weeks now!! 😫 my husband would love to move to Thailand. He keeps asking me if we could go and live in thailand. But it's me who's not quite sure if that is going to be the right decision! I think living in thailand it could be cheaper than in the uk. But i still think you still need to have some money or income! And most importantly that i worry about is "seeing the dr." I know that seeing the dr.in thailand is a lot easier than in the uk. But to get a good treatment or good medication you got to have enough money to pay for a private hospital. Unless you pay a lot of money for "health insurance" but would it covered cancer or anything like that? So this stuff kind of put me off a bit when i thinking about moving back to thailand to be honest! 😅 but after hearing what you said in this video plus what i've seen everyday on the news in the uk. I am starting to think maybe we should do it!! 😊 (sorry, for my very long comment!) 😅
As a thai , I appreciate your video and subscribed it !! However what i want to say is Thailand is not the best place there are many problems wait to solve 😅 and yeah try to travel around SEA maybe you will like Vietnam , Indonesia or Malaysia ❤ ( I feel like human can live anywhere that fine and fit to your feeling and life style and its can change! depends on new adventure) btw sorry for my bad eng ☠️🫂 God bless you 🙏 🇹🇭❤️🇬🇧
You can get a proper plate of ravioli in a decent Italian restaurant here for that! Moving to Thailand 17 years ago was a risk but it's turned out to be the best decision I have ever made.
Thailand has managed to acheive something very special. You've got people of all backgrounds, races, and everything chilling with each other having a good time being able to afford food being able to go out and actually enjoy themselves. It's like the system just works everything in the west is designed to destroy the person's morale and ultimately it has negatively affected Society to a point of no return I don't even think that if you paid me I'd really want to live in the west. It's not about quality of life because the quality of life in the west is actually relatively high, however people are so bad financially and so isolated socially that it really isn't worth it and it does a negative on your mental state just being in the west.
I was extremely lucky to get back into Thailand 5 days before the lockdown in March 2020. Made so many lifelong friends over the next 14 months, and it changed my life, forever, for the better.
100%. Even the little things like...50 years ago Europe was ahead, but I think now SEA is benefiting from the improved tech and available infrastructure and are just rocketing ahead of Europe right now
oui même problème bientôt ici surtout que Thaïlande attirent beaucoup de débiles. De plus il n'arrivera pas à vivre pendant 10 ans dans un climat chaud et humide. Il changera de pays dans quelques années, c'est sur et certain.
Sth Londoner here & been a perm resident of Canada for 8 1/2 yrs best thing i ever did but i was lucky, very very lucky i had money. Went back this time last yr to my old Manor in Sth London, felt like an outsider looking in. I'll go back for holidays but im looking at Thailand for a few months of the year. Its only going to get worse in the UK imo. Pre 2020 there was balance in the population or felt like it. Thats gone now
The "Boris Wave" was epic. Soon they will be able to bring their parents and grand-parent over. They will also be producing useless offspring that hate us.
What has Thailand got to do with Brexit ?, it's not in the E.U. and never will be. If you were so peeved about Brexit why didn't you choose one of 23 E.U. countries ??????????????????????????
I live in Sweden and I'm extremely stressed about moving out of here. Going to Thailand in January to look for places to live and for work to do. At this point I'd rather work there washing dishes than staying here.
I moved to thailand 2 years ago myself for exactly the same reasons you have said in this video. I'm from london and i got totally fed up with it. But like you said, in the summer time it is awesome. the other 9 months of the year suck
I was stuck in the USA for 3 months and I felt horrible. Once you experience the freedom and the positive vibes, the cost of living, women...etc you know your getting Screwed back home.
It’s the same situation in Canada, mortgage debt, helocs , interest rates , 40% in taxes , carbon taxes on energy costs, fees on everything you can imagine, and wages haven’t kept up with inflation . Other countries with lower standards of living are looking attractive due to the ability to live a less stressful lifestyle.
I can really relate to this video. I'm currently stuck in a dilemma and crossroads of life. My Mrs is Japanese and wants us to move to Japan permanently from next year (because she's realised how dangerous, dirty and expensive everything is here) and although I love Japan and have visited there 7 times, I'm not sure if I can live there permanently. It means, as you said, leaving family and friends and I love the English countryside, architecture and banter. I really don't know what to do to be honest. If I choose to stay, it means possibly losing my Mrs, but if I go, I'll feel like I've lost my family. Japan is amazing and very safe but I don't wanna feel like I'm abandoning my family 😮😢
Man I feel for you. It is tough. Very...tough. Here's what has helped me: 1) Go back every year for a 1-3 months. 2) Look at your friends and fam and get clear how many times you actually see them a year, 3) when you're back, try to see them the same amount of time you would over a year, but in a more condensed time. This way, you lose no net-time with those who matter most. And, you'll notice that the time becomes more precious, as its finite-ness is at the forefront. Wishing you luck!
@@trippinwitgeorge Thanks very much for the advice mate 😁 That makes good sense and I didn't think of it like that! - I do only meet my friends usually a handful of times a year anyway, and mostly speak on the phone to my Mum and Dad. Thanks, I appreciate that 👍
You touch upon one very key point that few people mention... one major problem at the core is a lack of a vision for society, what do we actually be striving for and what does the perfect society look like. All we have now seems to be 'GDP number go up'
I know....it seems we are lost without a somewhat unified vision, and nobody can seem to find their place in society. And this lack of belonging and meaning trickles through everything

Every era has its hardships, that was true for the 80s, 90s, 2000s and so on. It’s always a cycle, somehow people always navigate and succeed. There are so many great things in the UK, it’s not a dystopian hell, i think people have forgotten how to adapt (besides the crime rates increasing which I haven’t witnessed in 17 years living there) we are not entitled to anything, some people have it way harder than in the UK and keep smiling everyday with 1$ a day. Public services work, it’s organised well, clean, functioning, yes there are pockets of poverty but overall it’s not Afghanistan ! It’s what people expect and make of their life that makes it a misery in the UK, nothing is supposed to be given on a platter
im pretty sure i heard about thailand that the locals prices and foreigner price for rental in accommodation is different which is great too, as in the foreigners have to pay more than locals but it still being somewhat affordable for all in ways

This is also a warning to those in Thailand because what we all need more of are more British and Australians. Like you know you’re on Thai transportation when you can hear loud conversations in English from a group 15 people away.
13 years in Thailand and now I'm crazy homesick missing Europe, hope the same doesn't happen with you because it sucks. I know Thailand looks all shiny and nice the first few years but you start hating it after a while
Europe has changed alot in 13 years, believe me if monkey isn't a problem. You will have a better quality off life in Thailand. Come live in Europe for the next 13 years.. You will laugh at your message if you read it back.. I'm from the UK and the people are miserable here.. Inflation has hit people hard and you feel it in the energy of people around you. No one is smiling of even showing a sign of joy..
The uK is a brutal place to be right now for sure Inflation is a joke. 13 years ago...it was a very different place for sure. They’re is an element of how much can we fleece you, but I’d also say taxes are high because we have large broken support systems that keep growing, with less contributors and more takers. Everytime a tax increases or minimum wage increases it gets passed directly onto us plus a few percent. We’ve had idiot governments making decisions and not thinking about costs. Like starting to shut off our coal and nuclear stations with no replacements ready, which will cost us. Every product we buy is taxed to the hilt. Beer tax, fuel tax, energy tax etc. we do have a problem with integration at the moment, with large sub communities creating separate countries. I’m not sure how diverse Thailand is, I don’t think it has many westerners, Africans, and Middle Easterns or Indians living there, but I might be wrong.

Memories are just memories, they go with you as you travel and create new memories. Leaving a place does not take away the memories you have. The UK Summertime is the only time of the year when British people are more upbeat, less reserved and are less at each others' throats. At the end of this life, the only thing we will have - is memories and experiences. Material possessions don't mean a thing at that stage.
@trippinwitgeorge unless it has changed, how to become a tax resident in Thailand? Believe there's a new digital nomad visa, but still need to declare tax somewhere.
Right, need to be careful with within sort of advice as one can’t simply decide to move out the UK to Thailand. A move to the Emirates also requires a qualifying job, a 183 days stay, etc.
I've always thought the UK had the most security cameras. What, are they just watching you guys for no reason? One would think it would be a safe place.

@trippinwitgeorge Saw your film today and it resonates. I spend about 5 months a year in Thailand. The other 7 months are in the UK working through the summer. UK can be the best place May to September. My GF comes from Thailand to join me a couple of times each year. We enjoy a summer holiday in the UK. Big issues... Theft in the UK is high - even my local Co-Op refer to themselves as the "local foodbank" as people walk in and run out with goods - they don't even sell steak anymore! Phone theft on the streets in London is a real problem too. The roads are terrible - from potholes, speedbumps, 20mph zones, enforcement cameras, angry drivers to road closures and LTNs. It is misery. The weather can be miserable - even in the summer - it can be grey and wet. People - in London, white English are a minority. Hard to have a decent conversation. I would say that the immigrants are very friendly and happy. Why wouldn't they be with all the freebies they get? Better than the hellhole they came from.
The UK is an absolute joke. I cannot wait to leave. We're being taken advantage of here. We pay so much and get nothing good in return. Out roads are horrible, state of the NHS is horrible, can't get an NHS dentist, food is expensive and meh, tube in london is dirty and the service is poor, the dirty streets, phone snatchings, stabbings and now shootings in london are crazy, train prices to travel around the country are sky high, wages are low, rental prices and house prices are ridiculous, childcare costs too. There's literally nothing good about being in this country. They even announced today that they're going to put up uni fees next year...
It's tough out there right now. The A&E and ambulance wait times are a serious, serious problem... it's a mess. Thanks for watching, and good luck man!
Bro it’s exactly same in Thailand when you look at Thai salaries. Everything goes up! Its only fun times because of the currency difference.. It feels like all Westerners in SEA completely forget that. By the way, have you ever watched Thai TV? It’s 90% drama!
yeah the Thai TV is crazy. I suppose my perspective is that of a Western salary, English speaking person, as that is the only legitimate perspective I can take :)
Fewer and fewer Thais watch Thai TV. Older people continue to watch it. Many Thais I know don’t including me. They may only watch a particularly good TV program from time to time.
Lol SEA will always be price stable because they do not follow the hypercapitalism model of the west. Prices will go up but not much just normal stuff unlike they west where your gouged for every cent you have.
@@SmokyOle Thailand is drinking the coolaid of the WEF et al. Of course you are gonna have a better time moving to a third world country. You are now in a very privileged relative position. You also raise a lot of points which are only apparent /to/ natives to the UK. In Thailand you are completely ignorant to many of the socioeconomic issues. I am gonna emigrate to somewhere where I, am also, ignorant to all these things.
@@trippinwitgeorge Completely agreed in the UK you were working class or lower whereas in Thailand you are a top earner.
But like you said...you have now, what would only ever be a dream for most in then UK
shhh, Chiang Rai is one of the best kept secrets out there... ;)
@@CaldonianDude haha I've never been...that good??
@@trippinwitgeorge I liked it, but then, depends what you're looking for. Chilled little city, with stunning surrounding countryside and mountains. I can remember many laid-back afternoons with Thai friends down at the Chiang Rai bowl (sadly now RIP since covid), or going out to the "Singha park". Stay in a cheap little hotel with stunning views of the Kong, and cycle along its banks, or cross into Laos for a couple of days. I tend to favour Philippines these days, but I miss Chiang Rai - a lot.
You must have a set of cast iron lungs living up there. The pollution is horrendous in the north.
I completely agree. We are paying five star prices and what we are receiving is a two star service.
Exactly,same in France. J n’ai marre😢

Worst thing about the UK for me is the decline of service quality. I can deal with things getting more expensive but if the service also goes down it's just too much.

I think I'm going o thailand to soak up some of the energy
cheer up mate. think of the positives. Get yourself organised and get your arse to Thailand. You wont regret it.
@nickmondo222 thank you
As George said "if he can do it, anyone can do it".
It will help, Thailand has that power.
I've leaved Thailand and living in UK almost 2 years. Peaceful here for me:) The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
Yes it certainly seems that the grass is always greener. But I definitely feel more at peace in Thailand :)
Congratulations on an excellent video on a complex and nuanced subject, George. If you cover a topic like this, at this stage of your channel, and nail it so well, you are an exceptional content creator.
Keep up the excellent work 👏🏼
Ah thank you so much!! That is so kind of you 🙏 I am doing the best job I can 😀 I really appreciate you watching, and for the kind words :)

Its not only UK but USA too. Price and cost of living is through the roof. I need to move to Thailand too.
We need to get enough of the blue haired girls to vote for Trump at least for now. If he doesn’t win, I fear it’s the actual beginning of the end of our empire. Sad that we are living through one of the greatest countries ever to be, and seeing it potentially collapse at the hands of the corrupt
I've heard the US is in a tricky spot atm. Good luck, I hope you can make it work!
I am going back home, Thailand 😢
Thank you for sharing this with us, it's a bit sad but very interesting for me as a Thai guy who has lots of good friends from UK. 🙏🏽❤
You're more than welcome. It certainly is sad :(
6:00 exactly how i feel, spent a bunch of time travelling over the years, would go back to UK see everybody I know, nothings changed, ill fit right back in but... then I wont, after enough time I'm thinking about whats on the other side of the sea, way better life, I cant keep just hanging out doing nothing going pub few occasional get together etc, but life is short so I keep hopping abroad coming back until 2 years ago, went over to bail long term then now in Mexico, this is what lives all about for some of us, making the most of it, building my business and its fantastic being on US timezone for it, I'm on the coast, the same rent I pay for a nice apartment not far from everything, beach, pool on roof, is how much I was paying for a shared flat in east London lol, I'm in the best health of my life both physical and mental, cant stop now got to keep going, I love this... but I do think about friends n family sometime as the connections back home are always different, but I do notice more peace being away from all the small social politics of people gossiping about each other, people in my business etc, something about it... quick rant...
i can tell over the next 10 years this is only gonna get bigger with people moving abroad from uk
Thanks so much for sharing man. I've never been to Mexico, but I've heard great things!!
However what i want to say is Thailand is not the best place there are many problems wait to solve 😅 and yeah try to travel around SEA maybe you will like Vietnam , Indonesia or Malaysia ❤ ( I feel like human can live anywhere that fine and fit to your feeling and life style and its can change! depends on new adventure) btw sorry for my bad eng ☠️🫂
God bless you 🙏 🇹🇭❤️🇬🇧

@trippinwitgeorge yeah
It,ll work till ISLAM gets a foothold, then it'll be another paradise lost.
I was extremely lucky to get back into Thailand 5 days before the lockdown in March 2020. Made so many lifelong friends over the next 14 months, and it changed my life, forever, for the better.

honestly if feels like east asia is at least 50 years ahead of europe and USA at this point.
100%. Even the little things like...50 years ago Europe was ahead, but I think now SEA is benefiting from the improved tech and available infrastructure and are just rocketing ahead of Europe right now

Japan is amazing , your so lucky, embrace it and move! especially if you have children.

Give it a bit longer. If the UK really goes down the pan, Japan is an option. I wouldn't fancy it. As shit as the UK it, it's home.
You touch upon one very key point that few people mention... one major problem at the core is a lack of a vision for society, what do we actually be striving for and what does the perfect society look like. All we have now seems to be 'GDP number go up'
But GDP per capita is down. They don't broadcast that.

Soon enough, there will be so few people paying tax in the UK to pay for the many who pay nothing. This is what is coming.
Lot of truth here for sure! The ongoing taxing is such an issue. And...where is it going?

Memories are just memories, they go with you as you travel and create new memories. Leaving a place does not take away the memories you have. The UK Summertime is the only time of the year when British people are more upbeat, less reserved and are less at each others' throats. At the end of this life, the only thing we will have - is memories and experiences. Material possessions don't mean a thing at that stage.

I work Digital Marketing , but I've done tonnes of things. Actually transitioning now into the 1-1 support/group coaching space now, which should be fun :)
@@trippinwitgeorge I'm interesting in learning from you.
Enjoying your videos. Different take from most of the other guys in LOS.
When is "too late" going to be? Think about it, right?
(I left the UK in 1986. Not going back. Dual nationality now 🇨🇵.)
No matter what happens, Thailand will still be the safest place around.
For sure! (...unless you're in Bangkok breathing in the pollution 😅)
I scanned your QR code and it now says; “The QR Code Campaign has been disabled for some reason.”☹️
Oh so sorry! And thank you for letting me know. Here is the link :) Enjoy! www.trippinwitgeorge.com/free-digital-nomad-training-opt-in
@trippinwitgeorge
Saw your film today and it resonates.
Thanks man! Sounds like you've got quite a nice split there with your time in theUK and TH!
The UK is nice but crazy high cost of living!
It's crazy high right now...and I don't see it changing anytime soon...
Subbed to you mate I’ll be there soon don’t worry about that I defo ain’t staying here!!! You will see why on my channel
Legend nice man, good luck with the move!! Don't blame you
Bro it’s exactly same in Thailand when you look at Thai salaries.
I’ve had this thought years ago…..just waiting
Good luck!
Thing is, in 10-15 years from now SE Asia prices will be right up there too. Where next for cheap charlies on a budget.....
myanmar, bangladesh, papua new guinea, indonesia
Lol SEA will always be price stable because they do not follow the hypercapitalism model of the west. Prices will go up but not much just normal stuff unlike they west where your gouged for every cent you have.
Probably was Africa.😂😂😂
@@SmokyOle Thailand is drinking the coolaid of the WEF et al. First, implementing taxes on resident foreigners not working in Thailand and Thai citizens (even clamping down on street vendors scratching a meager living), and now even talking about a congestion tax/charge to drive in Bangkok. Costs imposed on citizens and businesses, will lead to higher prices for everything in the same way it has done in London. Those costs will be passed on to consumers.
@@EddieManning Yeah Thailand is losing its way. That's why I specifically said SEA and not Thailand. Thailand is shooting itself in the foot with their policies and smart people will go somewhere else. There will always be somewhere else. That's what they are about to learn.
Great, tell even more people to move to Thailand..
LOL! My bad
It is all a perception .. when the digital nomad earns in Thai Bath .. life would be different than ..
100%. If I was reliant on the state for things like benefits, I'd be in the UK. And if I was on minimum wage, I'd be in the UK to. Thailand is a great option, if you have access to capital for sure
Same nonsense in the USA 🇺🇸. Get your exit strategy sorted out.
I've heard it's bad over there right now!!
@@trippinwitgeorge Yes sir.
This is my dream for me and my girlfriend to move to Thailand. My problem right now is just finances. 😢
Considering getting a remote sales job while I build my online business so I can move over.
I wish you the best of luck dude! It doesn't cost much to live out here. £3k-£4k a month and you'll be living nice. Always feel free to pop in a call with me on one of the links if it helps. What do you do for work now?
@ I do remote sales. But recently left my last company so now looking for another job. I’ve heard you can live really good even on £2k in Thailand?
Gotcha. Yeah it's a tough gig long-term - can be hard to find a sustainable offer. Yeah, £2k a month goes a long way here. I'd say £2.5k you're living well. and can put a bit aside for flights back home, into your pension, etc :)
@@trippinwitgeorge appreciate the insights mate! How have you funded yourself while out there?
Half of Australia will be going over there as well if the cost of living keeps going up
I've heard it's tough out there right now!
@@trippinwitgeorge yeah mate everybody’s over it and our useless PM just goes and buys a 4.3 million dollar property and expects to get re elected I think your term for him would be a prize TWAT
😅😂 defo not good for the public image...
@@trippinwitgeorge the guys that DUMB he wouldn’t see the problem that’s what we have running our country ATM 🙄
Dublin right now feels like torture
Illegal immigrants everywhere,,taking shits in the middle of the street and your a racist fascist if you don't like it, 7 euro 20 cent for a pint, 1.2k each for a bedroom in a shared house
Ah, sorry to hear that!
You must be from Northwood hills
haha yes!
This video should have 1M views. Class mate!
eyy thank you so much man, I appreciate that. And good luck with your channel bro!! Content looks great :D
100% right pal. get out asap.
Thanks mate!
@@trippinwitgeorge Im going next year myself.
Nice man, good luck!!
Spot on, George. I felt the same when I went back.
Thank you 🙏 It's sad but true
The lowest a credit score can possibly be is a 300 so far as I’m aware. How do you get in to the 200’s?! That takes a long time and a lot of hard work to get that low dude. Like two repos, an eviction, two secured cards maxed out and the lowest I’ve seen dealing cars was a 340. Still got her approved at 29% for 72 months on an older Kia with $1,000 down. But dang dude, what the heck did you do???
He's British.
Different credit score scale in UK. Up to 999 at best.
@@EddieManning 300 to 850 in USA
Ah I messed up baddd. Maxxed an overdraft, credit card, and got a giant loan. Failed on payments. Then went into debt consolidation paying back £1 a month. Then did a partial settlement of 25% to the bank, who then banned me for life. It was brutal
Mate I know you love Thailand but I really think you should consider Vietnam instead. I moved to Da Nang in Vietnam in February of this year from England and have absolutely no desire to return. Vietnam is even cheaper than Thailand too. At least think about it, there's tons of digital nomads here.
Oh really? Nice! I'm actually going in February man, I can't wait! I am really excited about Da Nang...it seems to have both the beach and city...so can't want to check it. Is there anywhere else you'd recommend?
@@trippinwitgeorge Kuala Lumpur
Nice...it's on the to-go list for sure
Lived in VN from 2017-2019. It's way cheaper
How long can you stay there
Of course you are gonna have a better time moving to a third world country. You are now in a very privileged relative position. You also raise a lot of points which are only apparent /to/ natives to the UK. In Thailand you are completely ignorant to many of the socioeconomic issues. I am gonna emigrate to somewhere where I, am also, ignorant to all these things.
Ignorance is bliss, perhaps? Or stoicism at its finest :)
@@trippinwitgeorge Completely agreed in the UK you were working class or lower whereas in Thailand you are a top earner. Life in the UK is fine if you are bringing in over a million a year and life is hellish in Thailand or any developing country if you are a lowly worker. You benefit from the lifestyle arbitrage from earning in pounds/dollars or euros in a country which is poorer economically. The weather is nicer though I'll give you that, winter in the northern parts of the world are cold and miserable.
The UK us a 3rd world country! What timeline are you in? Its 2024 here not 1980.
The only thing I will tell you, narrow-minded people ,
Thailand is not a third world country, but a second world country, and in the not too distant future, Thailand is ready to become a first world country.
Now, Follow you channel.😃
Ahhh, thanks so much! Welcome to the channel :D
See you mate.
👊
Not only the UK is broken, even did in the US.
Well done mate ❤❤ 🙏
Thank you bro
