@@aldiosmio depends on where you’re vacationing. It definitely has a place but personally I wouldn’t take it as my only lens. The 16-50mm kit lens would be more my choice if space was an issue.
So, are you happy with the lens? Small form factor, quality pictures (most reviews are glowing about the lens). Next you have to try 14-30mm f4 on a z50! As always, love your videos. I always watch your videos for tips on my next lens!
I do prefer moderate tele lenses for street photography. I feel most comfortable between 50 and 135mm. Even 35 is too wide for me so I understand your struggle to fill the frame. Thank you for an inspiring vlog using wider focal length and photographing in dull light. It made me to go out and shoot. No excuses.
That’s the Freewell M2 set. Comes with a UV, ND 3,6,10 stop, a circular polarizer, and a front cap for protection. Pretty sweet setup. www.freewellgear.com/en/magnetic-quick-swap-system/1150-2159-m2-magnetic-quick-swap-5pack.html#/49-dslr_thread_size-82mm
Any chance you’ll probably end up grabbing that insane 28-400mm lens? Haha I got one for myself cause I mainly do wildlife and the crop factor will be sweet.
Hey im new to photography & watching you're videos make me want the Nikon Z50. Would you say this camera can be great for sport photography if so which lenses do you recommend?
Hey, I’d say it depends on the sport and time of day. I am able to get great results shooting fast moving things with just the DX 50-250mm kit lens. That lens also has built in VR (vibration reduction) which will really help when shooting longer distances. If you’re shooting in lower light conditions like in a gymnasium then you may want a faster lens with a wider aperture to let it more light. A lens like that will be quite a bit more expensive though. I have the Nikkor 85mm f1.8 S and it’s my go-to for low light conditions but my subjects aren’t super close.
@@RolandKaufmann thanks for replying & giving me info of you're experience on photography. I am just going to shoot for my dads soccer team during the day never at night also mostly outdoor soccer games.
I’d recommend single point for street and auto area for portraits. Single point allows me to choose the exact spot I want focus on. Auto area allows me to use eye tracking for portraits.
Thank you for saying that :). I like to edit as little as possible. Usually just raise shadows/lower highlights a bit. I like to crop if I think it will more closely resemble what I was trying to capture.
On my z30 I have the 16-50 kit lens, I don't see much difference in this lens compared to the kit lens. I don't know what you think if you've been able to try it. Greetings
I have the 16-50mm kit lens as well and have used it in 4-5 videos on the channel :). For some reason that lens suits my style more. The 12-28mm is pretty wide for me 😅.
All the photos were edited in Lightroom with a generous amount of cropping 😅. Do you prefer wide or telephoto lenses?
I was wondering if they'd make a good vacation lens, but I guess they're too wide?

I daily drive Nikkor 24-120 F4 for street photography. It makes me easy to decide whether I shoot wide or telephoto 😂
Oh that’s smart! Sounds like a great option. My brain has a hard time thinking about both at once hahah
that 12-28 lens ive always liked for the dramatic effect of car shows. otherwise, im not a master by any means of the wider lens.
I can see that working for tight spaces like at car shows. Maybe I’ll bring it along when I go to one this summer.
Thanks for this amazing vid! 🙏 You are just the best! 👌
Thank you so much 😊
Hey, great videos. Have you tried out the sigma lineup yet? I picked up the 30mm 1.4 for my Z50 and I love it.
Thank you! Have not tried the sigma primes yet, but I’ve heard they’re a great option for the Z50.

Oh the lens is excellent! It’s my brain that doesn’t work with it haha. I’ve always struggled with wide lenses. Working on getting better though!

This is exactly how I feel! 50mm and above I can start to add layers. Thank you for your kind words :).
Can we see some landscape videos every once in a while? I really enjoyed the first one
Greetings from Germany
Hey! I’ll see what I can do 👍🏼
What was the filtersystem you used? I'm searching for a magnetic system for a while now, but cant decide.

I didn’t plan on it, but you never know haha. Let me know how it goes for you!
Roland, do you happen to have a profile on the social network for photographers VERO?
Hey, I don’t have a Vero account. Find it hard enough to keep up with instagram haha. Maybe one day!
你好,我是来自中国的,你的视频很吸引我,最近一直在犹豫要不要买Z50,看了你的视频后我决定就买Z50了。
Hello! Very cool to hear. I hope you love it as much as I do :).

Are you using chest mount for your go pro?
Yep just a regular chest mount. Nothing fancy 😎
hey Roland just brought Nikon z50 what focus settings do you recommend for street and portraits

@@RolandKaufmann for wildlife
@@KushagrrGupta take your pick haha. Can use the auto area and use the yellow tracking box. Not sure if eye detection works for all animals.
@@RolandKaufmann thank you bro
There is a simplicity in your photography that fascinates me, how do you post process your photography, if that doesn't bother you
