OMG, you'll do Christmas songs? Oh such a treat with Pentatonix. You must hear "The First Noel." Avi almost gives us his full strength voice. Almost. Then there is "Mary Did You Know". All the angels in heaven hushed to hear when they sang this song. If you're going to love Mitch then you NEEED to hear him sing "Your Power". Oh, it will just melt you. That voice is haunting!
The odds of three people meeting in grade school becoming friends and staying together for 20 years and making music this beautiful is astronomically small. Scott, Mitch and Kirstie were in school choir together. Can you imagine trying to teach them anything. Commenters say she helped them build their blend that they do so well. The Trio audition for the Sing Off after finding Avi through Scott's friendship with Ben Bram, who is now their producer, and called Kevin after seeing his You Tube videos. Kevin stops learning to be a doctor to meet them the day before the audition for the Sing Off and the rest is history. Shortly before he passed, Leonard Cohen the gentleman who wrote the song, heard Pentatonix's cover of Hallelujah. He said it was the best cover of his song he had ever heard. Please do react to the live version of Hallelujah. People don't think that the way they sound on an official video is the way they sound in a live performance. Well once they see both the live and the studio version they don't think that anymore. Pentatonix never does a song that they cannot reproduce lies what they did on the official video. You did a great job and what many reactors do is when they're done with the pause they back up the video 10 seconds or so, so you can get back into the flow. My memory is so bad but I'm pretty sure this is what you did because I cannot remember what I just saw 5 minutes ago I mentioned this before but do not be afraid to let your emotions show. You would not be the first reactor who broke down during Hallelujah.. when you have such a visceral reaction to any type of art that means it has gone to your soul it has penetrated you. That is the goal artists strive to reach. Not having the words to describe what you have just seen is perhaps the greatest compliment you can give an artist. that means there is no word in Swedish or English that even comes close to describing what you have just seen. I was super indecisive.. Live or not. Im a huge fan of music videos since im a 90´s kid. MTV and so on. I heard great things about the live version, so i guess i have to check it out. =)
Unfortunately, that's an unconfirmed rumor that has gotten a lot of momentum, but is likely not true. I heard this as well and was also telling people this was the case, but I've now been told by others that it probably was NOT the case. Cohen was deathly ill with leukemia and passed away only a few days after this was released, although he actually died after falling in his home, too weak to survive the fall. I would like to think he would have been proud of it, but there's just no proof that this actually happened and seems rather unlikely at this point.
@@larrywt656 Actually it was release on 21 October 2916 and Cohen died on 7 November 2016. That makes 16 days. Over 2 weeks is a little more than a few days.

Welcome to the PTX Rabbit hole!! Other song you need to check out, is.... Home Free's, " Ring of Fire". Avi from PTX is a guest singer. Also Mitch and Scott have a you tune channel, called Superfruit! They sing " The Promise" . Its beautiful! I could go on and on!! Enjoy your reactions!!
There are no weak links in Pentatonix. Every member is a vital part of the mix, but Scott has such an amazing range, that he can cover the bass when Avi or Matt sing lead and blends with Mitch and Kirstie in the upper range creating the wall of sound that PTX is famous for.
Sound of Silence is a old intro to Matt singing ( Scott helps with low baritone/bass). New Rules is a good video for Matt on bass. He is classically trained at Berkelee College of Music in my hometown, Boston. Excellent choice to fill the bass role but not trying to replace him. It’s 5am and I haven’t slept yet so I don’t know if this makes sense. Avi is irreplaceable but they have a new bass that offers things Avi couldn’t deliver. They’re very different singers but both fill the very important bass role. Btw when Avi or Matt are singing, Scott fills in on bass. I like your reactions. You’re sincere and honest. I can’t always come up with English words to express my reactions to Pentatonix and English is my primary language ☮️💟
Oh yes, the live version is a must of Hallelujah, there you will see very minimal difference from the studio version which shows how awesome they really are. I actually prefer the live version better because is shows all of the doubters they are the best at thier craft.
What can go wrong with Christmas songs? With Pentatonix? Not a damned thing...they only get better. Also, don't feel bad, English is my native language and PTX makes me lose words all the time! I'm loving your reactions, I subbed immediately after watching this reaction that popped up on my recommended list. I then went back and watched your other Pentatonix reactions. Don't be afraid to react to some of their original music, you will not be disappointed by anything Pentatonix performs. Please keep the reactions coming! 💚💚💚Pentaholic fam
Listen and react to The Prayer. Also, listen to their season on The Sing off. It was an a capella competition show. It will also blow your mind with their song diversity.
I 💜 Pentatonix and your reaction. Another excellent accapella group (more choral like) is Voctave. Check them out. More Disney based music but they feature Kirstin Maldanado (PTX) singng with her former fiance - The Disney Love Medley. Voctave is about a 11 member group and their arranger Jamey Ray is also a vocalist. Check them out!
They are all so immensely talented it is hard for me, generally whoever is singing at the time is my Fav. Mitch has such a pure voice. Kirstin usually is turned to for powering up song with her laser cutting voice, Scott has an insane range as he is doing the bass when Avi is singing...then Avi..boom..Kevin has a very nice voice as well as being insane beat boxer. I would say try an early original 'Love again"
You have started listening to PTX via their covers of iconic classics. Be sure to also react to their take on modern pop music. Here are a few. Problem (Ariana Grande) Evolution of Ariana Grande (Medley of AG songs) Attention (Charlie Puth) Havana (Camilla Cabello) Their "Evolution" series shows off PTX's skills of sitting together as a group to perform a medley and sounding amazing with their speed and agility. Evolution of Music (a historical timeline) Michael Jackson Beyonce Ariana Grande Rihanna NSYNC
Don't worry about your comment regarding Scott. Everyone has their favorites and, while they all are necessary to pull of the sound of Pentatonix, it's just not possible to have 5 people exactly equal in both talent and appeal. I love them all but each in a different way.
Terrific reaction my friend. Your English is great. If you are having a hard time talking about PTX it's not you, it's because there are NO adequate words in ANY language to describe those guys. It is just difficult to put into words something that beautiful. 🤗
Scott- your weakest ( and yes you will eat your words over and over as you go down the rabbit hole) Mitch- your favorite. ( your favorite will change over and over as you go down the rabbit hole) Kristie- The girl. Sighs Avi- the bass here but finds their schedule too much and leaves the group but picks Matt to replace him and a perfect choice. Kevin aka KO- beatboxer and a singer with perfect pitch. You need to check out his work. Start with “Down” and react to it please. Now this group of artists are perfect apart and together. They know each other well and are passionate about their work. So enjoy their magic. We will enjoy watching.

You really need to react to Mitch’s cover of You Power’. You won’t be sorry. Thank you- very touching reaction to this beautiful song.
Thank you for watching! =)
If you watch it live, you'll see Scott taking over the bass while Avi is singing his part. He has a very wide vocal range. ruclips.net/video/haFHrfmfHbc/видео.html
One day, in the far future, these five lovely human beings will have heaven's angels as their "back-up" singers! sol :)
The guy with the hat is Mitch, he's my favorite as well.
Scott's range is phenomenal. He sings the bass when Avi or Matt are singing solo.
Amazing Grace is insane too! Also...The Evolution of Michael Jackson....crazy!
I believe the words you were reaching for are "They are completely synchronized" and their perfect synchronicity causes your frequency to change and you become one with it causing an emotional impact that only occurs where God's grace appears. Ok, that's what happens to me anyway :O
This one popped up on my feed, but I had to watch your reactions in order and subscribe. If you do AHA please do it as a double feature the official video first for the great audio but the live version for the energy but avi broke a speaker and it was recorded on a cell phone so audio isn't perfect
I´ll check it out! =)
Great reaction Recky and I know exactly what you mean about your English letting you down sometimes. I sometimes wish I could post my PTX comments in my native Zulu but then you guys would have no idea what I’m clicking about. I also enjoyed seeing you eat your words about Scott. I’m one of those who wrote back (without swearing) on your initial impression and I’m so pleased you came around. All is forgiven and I’m following your PTX journey with great excitement.
"clicking about" Hilarious! I can admit when im wrong. Glad to will stick around. Take care and stay safe!
Love this group. But Home Free another Acapella group is also great. CK out Man of Constant Sorrow and Ring of Fire
He is my favorite too. ❤️ Mitchie ❤️❤️
Although each member is incredibly talented, Mitch is also My favorite. I DO love this group!!! Thanks so much for sharing with us. YES.... bring on the Christmas music, Mary Did You Know pretty please 🙏
Will do Shauna! Most of it will be public, some patreons only. We´ll see. =)
can you please react to pentatonix songs the sound of silence. the feeling cant hold us they rap in this song. mary did you know. cheerleader. love again. can you feel the love tonight. havana. new rules. sing. radio active. rather be..daft punk. also scott hoying and mario jose lost on you
Will do, i have a very big list! =)
Watching people react to Pentatonix is my new hobby loll
Welcome to the PTX Rabbit hole!! Other song you need to check out, is.... Home Free's, " Ring of Fire". Avi from PTX is a guest singer. Also Mitch and Scott have a you tune channel, called Superfruit! They sing " The Promise" . Its beautiful! I could go on and on!! Enjoy your reactions!!
Thank you for the suggestions, and im going down the rabbit hole with a smile! =)
Beautiful song.
May I suggest that the phrase you were struggling for after Kirstin's solo was "touched by the Divine."
There are no weak links in Pentatonix. Every member is a vital part of the mix, but Scott has such an amazing range, that he can cover the bass when Avi or Matt sing lead and blends with Mitch and Kirstie in the upper range creating the wall of sound that PTX is famous for.
We established that in the next reaction video, =)
I think the word you are looking for is MAGIC.
Sure is. Pure magic and I do believe sorcery is in there somehow! Hehe
Glad to hear I’m not the only one. When emotions take over, words are rarely enough. Silence speak more than words. Glad you enjoy my reactions.
Oh yes, the live version is a must of Hallelujah, there you will see very minimal difference from the studio version which shows how awesome they really are. I actually prefer the live version better because is shows all of the doubters they are the best at thier craft.
I need to check this out! Thank you for sharing
You voiced a lot of what I feel listening to this song ~~ Thanks!
Thank you for watching. 😄
Great reactions.. Daft Punk and Bohemian Rhapsody will blow your mind..
Bohemian Rhapsody is on my playlist already, feel free to check it out.
Thank you Lisa! Glad you found me.
Another great reaction! Thanks for doing what you do. You're entertaining.
Thank you Jason!
@@Reckyj Its my pleasure Reckyj. 😊
Listen and react to The Prayer. Also, listen to their season on The Sing off. It was an a capella competition show. It will also blow your mind with their song diversity.
Beautiful thx for sharing ❤.
Pausing should be expected in reaction videos.
Pentaholics understand.
Voctave? I’m checking it out. More PTX coming up!
Will do!
Please can you do the live one too? It is better than this. Christmas special. Hallelujah.
Will do!
Can you react to Waving Through A Window? Scott is amazing in that one.
Hi! i sure can. =) the list is very long. =)
Have you seen their 'can you feel the love'. It's stunning
oh, no i havent. Added to the list!
You have started listening to PTX via their covers of iconic classics. Be sure to also react to their take on modern pop music. Here are a few.
Problem (Ariana Grande)
Evolution of Ariana Grande
(Medley of AG songs)
Attention (Charlie Puth)
Havana (Camilla Cabello)
Their "Evolution" series shows off PTX's skills of sitting together as a group to perform a medley and sounding amazing with their speed and agility.
Evolution of Music
(a historical timeline)
Michael Jackson
Beyonce
Ariana Grande
Rihanna
NSYNC
More on the evergrowing list! love it!
Great reaction ☮️
I agree these are the best Acapella artists I know of currently. I also like Home Free, check them out.
There is a playlist devoted to Home Free.
Watch the live version! Those were their costumes for their Christmas video. It’s as good hood as this one, if not better.
Will most definitely do the live version. However, it might be limited to my patreons.
Great reaction, keep it up!
Will do!
Don't worry about your comment regarding Scott. Everyone has their favorites and, while they all are necessary to pull of the sound of Pentatonix, it's just not possible to have 5 people exactly equal in both talent and appeal. I love them all but each in a different way.
Mitch stands out a bit. They all are crazy talented tho.
Terrific reaction my friend. Your English is great. If you are having a hard time talking about PTX it's not you, it's because there are NO adequate words in ANY language to describe those guys. It is just difficult to put into words something that beautiful. 🤗
Thank you! glad you enjoyed. Its hard in any language. =)
Exquisite
Also listen to them do the John Lennon classic, Imagine.
You mentioned Christmas song ... try their "My Favorite Things"
I will! =)
Check out Mary Did You Know. Stunning!!!
So ive been told! Will do!
Have York listened to throw group HOME FREE? Man of constant sorrow is a really good one, Great accuse Llama is fabulous.
I’ve heard the song before, unsure what artist sang it. I’ll check it out. Thank you for the suggestion.
I REALLY HOPE YOU REACT TO:
AMAZING GRACE (MY CHAINS ARE GONE) - PTX
I feel like you'll LOVE IT
It’s up high on the list. Probably this weekends.
You should review Pentatonix “Mary Did You Know”
Will do! It’s on the list. Thank you for the suggestion
Scott- your weakest ( and yes you will eat your words over and over as you go down the rabbit hole)
Mitch- your favorite. ( your favorite will change over and over as you go down the rabbit hole)
Kristie- The girl. Sighs
Avi- the bass here but finds their schedule too much and leaves the group but picks Matt to replace him and a perfect choice.
Kevin aka KO- beatboxer and a singer with perfect pitch. You need to check out his work. Start with “Down” and react to it please.
Now this group of artists are perfect apart and together. They know each other well and are passionate about their work. So enjoy their magic. We will enjoy watching.
I fine with eating my words every time. I super glad that I was wrong. 😀
You chose wisely to do the music video version.
Thank you!
Carrie Underwood Temporary home and Chris Stapleton Tennessee Whiskey
Two good songs😀
for a fun traditional Xmas cover - - try Oh Come all Ye Faithful.
When the season is more.. ehh appropriate, Christmas songs will be a thing! =)
