This is from 2013 and is the video that made Pentatonix international superstars. They had booked professional studio time to both record the song and shoot the video, but the booking fell through at the last minute. So instead, they recorded the song in a bedroom closet and shot the video in Avi & Kevin's kitchen. The shooting budget was only $400 (not counting the post-production and editing budget) and was shot using an iPad. The result was a huge hit single, a super-viral video, their first Grammy Award, AND graduating from the small Sony-owned Madison Gate Records label all the way up to Sony's top label RCA. This is actually a mashup of seven Daft Punk songs. Most of their video work is done by the small Los Angeles-based video production company FifGen Films, which basically started out at the same time as Pentatonix, and the two have been partners ever since.

Cut to quick teaser of “One More Time,” remixed hard, beautifully. Straight into “Get Lucky,” record scratching at the end to transition into... “Digital Love,” a song I’d never heard before, then move back to... “One More Time” teaser number 2, but now we get a bit more than a tease, still short, building into the drop, which is... “Harder Better Faster Stronger,” but instead of effects pitch shifting the notes to opposite ends of the scale, it’s just their voices going to extremes, with the slick record spin noises thrown in at the third stanza. Suddenly, Avi stays deep and Kevin goes nuts for “Television Rules the Nation,” while Kirsten hits up “Around the World” in the background of the second half. Lookup the lyrics to both of those songs, it’s hilarious. Wait, I’ll save you the trouble... copy paste the names of both songs until you have a long Bart-Simpson-on-a-chalkboardesque sheet of the same sentence of lyrics. Then let’s do “One More Time” one more time, but not the chorus this time, and in the second half, mix “Get Lucky” back in, slowly increasing in volume until the lyrics merge into a new meaning, shouted by all, a song I’d call “Dance to the Stars!” Drop the beat, just do “Get Lucky” at the chorus, then add in new drums for the repeat chorus. Finally, the finale, a song mix I’d call “Sound Explosion,” where you can hear bits of each song so far, on Kevin’s funky beat, then on a standard beat, into the end of “Harder Better Faster Stronger.”

This one i believe they mostly arranged themselves, esp mitch&Scott being daft punk fans
Love your reactions!!! Another good one is PTX - Gold cover.
Thank you! I love to react to PTX. Gold is added to the reaction list. =)
Hey Recky, I enjoy your fun and quirky personality. Quirky is good in my books, and normal is boring!
Have Subscribed today, so I can see what all you have to offer.
One suggestion is that when you react to a Pentatonix video, not to call them a “band” (especially since they don’t use any instruments), but instead, call them a “group”. You have not been the only reactor by any means to call them a band, and it just makes me twitch a little each time I hear that, because they just aren’t a band, they are a vocal group.
Best wishes with your channel, I’ll be watching!

P. S. What is your nationality and where are you actually broadcasting from? Not your specific address LOL, just what country?… or even what city if you feel comfortable in mentioning that). 😎
Hello Steve. I’m broadcasting for the kingdom of Sweden. 😃 south to be specific. Thank you for subscribing and I hope you enjoy my quirkiness.
@@Reckyj … Thanks for your response, much appreciated. I have had the pleasure of visiting your beautiful capital city of Stockholm for a couple of nights, truly one of the most beautiful cities I have visited (and I have been to 48 different countries). While there I had the opportunity to see the amazing recovered shipwreck at the Vasa Museum and I also visited the concert hall where the majority of the Nobel prizes are handed out, which was also very thrilling.
As they say in France, “ciao for now” (see, I am a bit quirky myself). 😬
@@KanTexCali ahh yes, the Vasa. Worlds shittiest ship. Stockholm is a beauty. I live about 6 hours by car from Stockholm. And I always answer comments.
You are about to fall into the PTX rabbit hole. Enjoy it😜💗

@@Reckyj I probably should have used different words. I was being humorous/playful. I recall you mentioning your wife is a PTX fan - I envisioned her chuckling at your dramatic reaction. I know it made me smile and chuckle- in a good way. No malice! All in fun. ☮️
