I paid $150 with polk, even though I only listened to this amp for 1 or 2 hours total, it had been 3 years since I bought it. Found out these are called "plate amps" and you can buy generic or 3rd party replacement amps. But, the ones I found online cost a bit more $150 so I went with Polk.
my power cable came loose and was powering the unit on and off rapidly and fried something in the amp. I called polk to ask how much a replacement amp would be for it and they do sell them its just the price is more than a new one purchased and delivered to your house off amazon. I hella want to repair my amp but I can't find the problem. I was hoping the fuse blew but its doing just fine. It didn't just stop working either it slowly was unable to play at normal volume. it would cut out all the time until I lowered the volume and bass power. then eventually it just didn't even power on anymore. these subs are awesome I have 2 of them and now i'm gonna purchase a 3rd. these speakers hit hard and are worth every penny in my opinion
I have the same subwoofer barely a year old and was hardly even used but now it won’t power on, i took of the backplate and all the capacitors look fine and fuse is good... so what gives on this model, any ideas?
@@frankie21470 okay, thanks for the reply. I took the amp out and saw a couple resistors that were brown so I looked them up and ordered them. If that doesn't work I'll call Polk and order a amp for $200, or maybe get a Bic pl200ii.
Angry about this - now I retired I can't afford this crap... my PSW110 is dead (motorboat sound). Most electronic stuff I bought lasts well past ten years... and with speakers, I have some B&W DM601 bookshelf speakers that sound great I bought in 2001 same I paid for this PSW sub - and some Monitor Audio Bronze, I expect they'll last 20 years too.
Wao! What kind of Christian are u?......when u know well you are lying bout that being a gift and instead of buying that expensive stuff and before you put a bite of food in your mouth think that your kids are hungry too.....be responsible that's what real man do!
