Amazing project, thanks, guys! One little suggestion: How about some very open (air flow) custom mesh for the drive openings? You could have these match the original color at your local paint shop. So, no visible holes anymore and even more car-look ;)
there's a program floating around that you can force the curve optimizer function on x3D ryzen, makes my X3D run from 4.3 @ 90c to 4.45ghz @ high 70s c cause it's boosting higher because of lower temps (I got an 280mm Arctic Freezer II) and it uses about 20 or so less watts
You can almost see the cogs turning in the engineer's head when tilting the radiator is suggested. That or modem dialing tone. :p Regardless; I'm impressed by the idea of using acrylic to troubleshoot issues in final cut.
2:26 L.G. Sebastian could mean his very own screwdriver is NOT YET in the market. It would still make a good Christmas gift for tool users who are LTT subscribers.
Those temps are incredibly low, I know its a very thick rad but I can't believe it whilst cooling both the cpu and gpu whilst stress testing it keeps a 3090 at 54c, I have a custom loop for both gpu and cpu with a 280mm rad, 360mm rad and a 3080 with an active back plate as well as a full front plate and under stress testing with my noctua redux fans at 100% my 3080 sits at 56c and my coolant sits at 32c with an ambient temp of 22.6c. maybe I need to repaste with better compound?
I was thinking the same thing...I have a 360mm rad at 45mm thick and 280mm rad at 30mm thick running on a 9900k direct die cooled and 2080ti ftw3 and my temps are only slightly lower than theirs...Its crazy how good that thic boy 120mm alphacool rad works! those googly eyes everywhere in LMG kills me 😂 They're on chairs, tables, even material sometimes and especially on their tools. 😂 The ones at 5:10 on the Flex (probably not the correct translation for the machine but I honestly dont even know the correct term in my language either, so I stay at Flex 😂) are having a sugar shock. 🤭
you should have cut the "nubbin" off instead of removing the rear shield on the motherboard, less chance of it shorting and it would help dissipate heat.
What a machine, I did not expect this would have everything internal but it happened. I love how this little thing has better temps and noise levels than my mid tower PC with a 3080 and 3900x.
Would gold foil work in place of thermal compound, seeing as it can conduct heat very well and would most likely fill in the tiny gap between the CPU and your cooler? I've heard about Indium foil being used, but would gold foil work even better?
wtf? im no expert but i dont think so. isnt the point of thermal paste to make sure all microscopic gaps are filled ensuring max thermal conductivity between the IHS & cold plate? upon a little research indium only sorta worked because of how soft it is, idk if gold is as soft/malleable as indium, but the indium foil preformed worse then carbon thermal pads from thermal grizzly, which preform worse them somewhat decent thermal paste. id say just see if there is some sort of gold alloy thats liquid at room temp
@@Robo-xk4jm You are correct, that is the point of thermal compound. However, since gold by nature is a soft metal and gold foil is very malleable, it should fill all the gaps. Gold is also a great conductor of heat, so that might help it outmatch indium. Also thermal paste can dry up, whereas indium and gold don't, which is why they have use in places that you don't want to have to take apart often.

I've definitely seen some ltt videos that had harsh recording conditions that sounded perfectly fine in the final edit, to the point where I thought it was ADR but no, it was just good post processing of good mics.
well izotope wont help for the nasty lav sound....screaming in my ears (on the brink of distortion as well) with a huge boost around 1-2khz :( well anyhow by far good enough for what it is. its not exactly drama or a good doc. :) what bothers me more is the jacked combined with the staged introduction :)
@@joppepeelen sure but some more work on the eq could probably solve the lav mic effect (effect which I personally don't even notice that much, so I'm just a backseat audio engineer here lol).

Damn, so I'm guessing this is what it feels like when non-car people saw car enthusiast trying to customize and fabricate their car to accomodate an engine swap that wasn't meant to be in said car in the first place lmao. From the planning, the cutting, the high quality parts, and most importantly the testing. It's so Similar!
And what’s really impressive isn’t simply the ability to get it done at all, but the ability to get it right more or less the first time and to a deadline.
That is actually INSANE and i LOVE LOVE LOOOVE the paintjob they did for the whole build IGN10/10
Ya'll need to find a way to bring Shank Mods onto the team. Dude is fantastic.
I still want him to have his creativity and soldering experience though. LMG is good but these creative ideas I want to keep seeing.
"Finally a GPU worthy of my existence!"
-The PC case
That pc is gonna sound like 3090 hot wheels cars driving at full speed xD
I love how they surprised not just Linus but also us the viewers with that monitor
probably the best sleeper pc and gaming pc of all time
You can really feel how much less "editor attention" this video in particular has received in comparison to other LTT videos.
Feels like the good old days and it's nice
Probably because most of em are sick
@@Ansh77K Felt like a Channel Super Fun video for a majority of it.
The format, music, the "Holly sh$t dawg" reaction, the unavailing of the computer ... it all reminded me of "Pimp my ride" style of show format. Almost as if it was done on purpose. Really distracted me from the content.
@@MrBaller4Life14 unrefined content is good in doses but there's a reason why over the top reactions work, it helps retain audience attention and create anticipation and excitement to see the final product.
This excitement and reaction of linus shows that he is actually a real gamer and a great lovely PERSON LOVE YOU LINUS ❤️😍😍😍
Always love seeing James on the main channel! Great Collab with ShankMods too. Some retro Hot Wheels cars would have really pulled it all together lol
turned out great ! linus is the rich grandpa that is invested but tired enough to help through videocalls, but always supporting whatever crazy thing you are doing, knowing you will remember it forever !
Amazing project, thanks, guys! One little suggestion: How about some very open (air flow) custom mesh for the drive openings? You could have these match the original color at your local paint shop. So, no visible holes anymore and even more car-look ;)
remove the coolers and put wheels on the pc, now, when you boot it, it will be Hot Wheels
you should watch shank’s video
there's a program floating around that you can force the curve optimizer function on x3D ryzen, makes my X3D run from 4.3 @ 90c to 4.45ghz @ high 70s c
cause it's boosting higher because of lower temps (I got an 280mm Arctic Freezer II) and it uses about 20 or so less watts
build a pc into a keyboard.

You can almost see the cogs turning in the engineer's head when tilting the radiator is suggested. That or modem dialing tone. :p Regardless; I'm impressed by the idea of using acrylic to troubleshoot issues in final cut.
I think Shank would fit great into LMG, I'd love to see his videos with higher budget

12:50 "The cpu could be cooler. I wouldn't want to run it at 82 daily..." laptop owners:
um
6:06 "reinvent the wheel..." get it? because it is a hot wheel?
*heeeeyyyy got'em!*
2:26 L.G. Sebastian could mean his very own screwdriver is NOT YET in the market. It would still make a good Christmas gift for tool users who are LTT subscribers.
Not a sleeper… everyone knows that the flame covered *thing* is the fastest one around.
Now put a 4090 in it
Is that even possible?
That workshop they are in must be at like 15c ambient! lol
@@brucepreston3927 It's not just the rad doing the work; those iPPC fans push *a lot* of air at full tilt.
@@Emerald_Night thats true but alphacool rads have a lower fin density than most other rads and they have diminishing returns after a certain point...I have the same style alphacool rads in my build
This right here… literally my dream job. Nice pc guys!
I love seeing this guy grow. I feel like videos like this were originally out of his comfort zone but man he could be huge one day if he wanted to
now fit a 4090 in it
Tynan looks like a big brother version of Linus, taller, more buff and does the heavier work
depending on what p95 test you ran you wouldn't be "daily driving" that temp.
This is one of the most badass videos you guys have ever made, GG
those googly eyes everywhere in LMG kills me 😂 They're on chairs, tables, even material sometimes and especially on their tools. 😂
The ones at 5:10 on the Flex (probably not the correct translation for the machine but I honestly dont even know the correct term in my language either, so I stay at Flex 😂) are having a sugar shock. 🤭
you should have cut the "nubbin" off instead of removing the rear shield on the motherboard, less chance of it shorting and it would help dissipate heat.
At least he didn't auction off shank's controller for charity
This is the type of pc you would see selling as a prebuilt on amazon.
9:15 Tbh I think you should leave the rear as clear acrylic. Looks cool.
The whole end result battlestation is freakin' cool. Love it.
What a machine, I did not expect this would have everything internal but it happened. I love how this little thing has better temps and noise levels than my mid tower PC with a 3080 and 3900x.
This guy is like young Linus, but he actually looks decent on camera.
@@Robo-xk4jm Gold is quite soft but not nearly as soft as Indium - you can bite into an indium ingot.
I love videos like this. I watched Shank Mods original video and had to see them do this build. It really does suck that every one had covid and couldnt be there to witness this greatness.
So cool to see Shank in an LTT video, dude is a wizard and has one if the coolest mod channels on RUclips 👍✌️
The machine work at LTT has gotten soo much better over the years. that back plate was both clean and much more accurate. Loving the direction of the custom builds
I have to say this is probably one of the more interesting mods recently. Basically a Pimp my Ride but LTT style. Well done!
This could have, and should have, been a two hour build video. This is the kind of stuff I want to see more of.
Really like the change in presentation order and method for this build.
This is by far my favorite build yall have done.
10/10 big want
AAAyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
You guys did a good thing here inviting Shank Mods. Good work!
His video was hilarious when he called you guys out on the unintentional inflating of the market lol
It’s so cool to see you guys taking shank mods up on his idea! Legit awesome 💖
