This is a great stitch! I use this stitch when making market bags and such for a sturdy bottom half. Love your tutorials!
Cool! I LOVE learning new stitches! Thank you for this one. Tight and good for pet blankets and ground throws.
Thank you!
Hi Mickey,
While I was watching this you mentioning splitting it made me think of how in the early pioneer days the farmers or cattle men had to have split rail fences so this stitch could be called the 'Split rail post' stitch 🎉 Beauty Eh! 🇨🇦
Amazing what names can remind us of. :) I was thinking splitting logs myself. We weren't far off from each other.
Love the new stitch. So many ideas. Thank you
Im a UKer and found you spoke so fast, especially at the beginning, i couldnt keep up but being a video tutorial it helped thankfully! Lol. Thanks for sharing. X
This is such a wonderful stitch for this yarn if you don't want the "holes" ! Thank you!
I ENJOY learning new stitches, thank you :)
Thank you, you explained it very well and very clearly. I never did this stitch before.
I love this stitch! I have spent the last week trying to decide what stitch to use on my chunky wool for a throw rug. I think I'll try this tonight. 😊
This is really neat. I am just a simple crocheter meaning I have never done any fancy stitches. Mostly just single or double. Plus I haven't crochet for a long time but have wanted to get back to it. Thanks for the demo.
Never heard of this stitch before....thanks Mikey!!
Thanks so much! You explained it really well.

love this stitch & can't wait until you show the buffalo plaid!!!
It will be tomorrow. I worked late last night and are finalizing tutorial today. Thanks for your enthusiasm.
thanks i ran across this in a pattern and the surface st sl
This is really neat! I like the way the stitches are more vertically aligned, as opposed to the regular hdc. Would you recommend using a larger hook than the yarn suggests?
buffalo plaid for sure!!
Nifty!
So if I’m understanding this correctly, is this not just a hdc waistcoat stitch? It’s seems to be the same as a sc worked into the posts/split of the Sc from the previous row, no?
Do you start with a Half Double Crochet foundation row, then start the Split Double Crochet?
Would this work with a regular double crochet?
Do you have a video for doing a split double crochet?
I'm unsure that's possible. I have to research that one.
@@TheCrochetCrowd Thanks for your help. I was looking at the following pattern that called for split front post double crochet. Sorry, I meant split fpdc and not split dc. The pattern gave instructions for it but I wasn't sure I could follow it without a video. Here is the link to the pattern: www.mooglyblog.com/final-frost-beanie/
what kind of yarn was used for this project?
Argentina Luna Bernat Home Dec
