Both scarfs are absolutely beautiful. Love the large knitted stitch look.

I love this scarf, the colors of yarns, stitch and of course how easy it looks to make. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful scarf with us.

Beautiful stitch pattern as well as the color of the yarns you showed, but the yarn color you are demonstrating with is too dark to see where your crochet hook is going while you are fastly crocheting. Perhaps demonstrate in a lighter color yarn. Beautiful crochet work nonetheless! Thank you.

The reason being is because, like myself, I can not see any stitches when dark colored yarn is used. I have bad vision and the only thing I can see in the video is the yarn going on the hook that's it. Guess it would be alright if i could watch on a very large tv screen.

Natasha Scoggin: You’re right. I’m watching it on a big TV screen and still is difficult to see, plus she crochet very fast. Not to take away that her samples are beautiful! There are other videos you can watch. Look for: The Camel Stitch.

Yes.. i was thinking the same thing.. a dark color for a tutorial is not the best choice.. i only knew what she was doing because i know how this stitch works.. but I couldn’t see it on her dark yarn.. this is what she is doing: in a half double crochet stitch, disregard the top of the stitch where you have the v and normally go under, instead look at the back of the stitch, u will find a third loop.. that is the loop you need to go into..

May I ask you to re-do this stitch in lighter color yarn? It’s hard to make out with yarn this color.

I would like to make lapghans/wheel chair blankets for nursing homes using this stitch. What would be the best way to approach this using the back n forth direction? Stitch in the back one way and stitch in the front the other way? Will have to see if I can figure something out. Love the look. While I caught on right away, others do not ... so please do slow down when showing a new stitch or technique and show it slowly 6-10 times, literally. This way people of all skill levels can see what you are doing. Thanks for sharing!!!

You could always start at one end and at the end of the row tie off and then tie back onto the beginning of the row. If you didnt want to weave in the ends you could leave them loose as a decorative edging. Otherwise this stitch only works in the round.

True, that is the name of it... Knit stitch is already taken by another stitch...
But, that's not why I am commenting... Thank you! You would not believe how many videos I've seen that promised to teach this stitch and then did not!
I think you could do this stitch in rows if you just alternate back stitch on even rows and front stitch on odd rows.☺

Lighter color yarn would be clearer which stitch you’re picking up. Well done video! Great tips too. Thanks. Gonna try this instead of knitting it. :). Appears to be as stretchy as knitting.

This only works in the round? I think this looks more pronounced than the camel stitch. I wish I could work this horizontal
With camel stitch Only the stitches made in the third loop pop. The ones in between don’t. ☹️

the “knit” look will be more spaced out, but yes. you would do your first row with regular HDC, then next row with the HDC stitch as shown in the video (since the knit look gets pushed to the other side) and keep alternating between a regular row of HDC and the HDC in the video. You’ll be placing your hook through the bottom and up the loop for the flat version as opposed to the top down as seen in the video. I hope this makes sense!!

How are you joining? It looks like you are doing 2 different stitches, you don`t explain what or how you are joining your new roll. And like someone said a lighter colored yarn is much easier to see in videos.

    • @TaylorLynnCrochet
      @TaylorLynnCrochet  6 лет назад +1

I am not joining after each round, I simply continue to HDC around in a spiral

Can you do a ear warmer using this pattern

    • @TaylorLynnCrochet

You definitely could use this stitch to make a ear warmer. You would just want to decrease the number of beginning chains to fit your head

Just went to your blog and the pattern isn't free anymore😪😪😪. 2 questions: 1) what amount of stitches would you suggest for s kid/ child size? 2) if I work this as a flat scarf, would you suggest making a very long chain. Getting the length first the and then enough rows to get the width??

The pattern is free to view on my blog. There is an option to pay for an AD-free PDF.

Why dont you go a little faster because 100 mph is not fast enough and use the darkest yarn you can possibly find so no one can see what you are doing. Great job.

A light yarn would be easier to see...the lighting is fairly dark, not very close and with the dark yarn anyone who is trying to learn can't follow this video. (Trying to be constructive. The scarf you show as your original would have been more ideal to show the stitches and where you are putting your hook.)

Unfortunately at the time of filming, this was the only skein I had left on hand were these darker colors. Hopefully if I find more time in the future I can refilm with lighter yarn.
