I have spent HOURS trying to find a tutorial for a beanie ribbing that makes sense and is done in a way that can be easily understood (and seen). Finally I stumbled upon yours. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I need some help! I wish I could send a photo to let you know what results I’m having. I end up with a cute ribbed brim but the ribs are slightly slanted and the edges are wavy. Any hints?

For the life of me, why don’t more crochet channels show this way of doing this technique to make brims? It’s the best as I don’t like the look of a bottom up beanie in crochet. This is the BEST way to make a brim and ITS SO VERY EASY!!! Wished I had learned this years ago!!! Crochet teachers really should expand their techniques and teach this!!! Wonder tutorial and I’ll always use this way for all of my hats that I’m doing brims on. All of that decreasing for bottom up beanies is insanity imo. Easy way of making your beanies look professional! Thanks so much!!! 😊☀️ 🧶

I've been doing it this way for 30 yrs and it is much better than crocheting 1 long rib pierce and then sewing it in to the edge of a hat or sweater. Even though I like the look of the front post sts, I've never done it that way, so why change when this way is easy and looks great. This method is shown in 1 of my books from 12 yrs ago. Also I used this method on my designs in magazines. I had to come up with a quick way to create the ribbing as I went along bc many people don't like to have to sew things together, so I quickly came up with this on my own. (Exactly the way she is showing). She's doing a great way of explaining this! Nobody needs to feel intimidated by crochet anymore with videos! I never had that when I was learning.

I know this video is 3 years old but I just DISCOVERED YOU !!!! where have you been. I just finished a hat in single crochet and it looks great but I'm not happy the way it looks or fits at the end. This will SAVE my hat!!! I will add a ribbed brim. I can crochet any hat in one night....after sewing for 3 or 4 hours, (I'm a quilter) but since I don't need much sleep I sit in bed and crochet while watching you. You are a very talented young lady and I really enjoy your videos. I have been crocheting for more years than your age.....LOL....but have learned more from you than all my years. Again, Thank you....

Thank goodness for smarty pants' like you teaching all of us boobs how to do this simple technique! Haha! I've been crocheting for 18 years but just started using ribbing in the last couple years. But slip stitching negates ANY stretch desired, and you're right: a single crochet IS totally bulky and feels weird... I'm using your method on a diaper cover now and it's just perfect, THANK YOU! Next project: baby sweater cuffs... Omg my life is complete!!! (And your I agree that your voice is lovely - I could watch your videos all day, and I just might!)

I made a hat for my daughter with a beautiful pattern, but the brim just didn't do it justice. The hat came out a little big but the brim was tight with little stretch, so it just didn't fit right. This technique really polished it off and now it fits so much better and looks super cute! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

Thank you soooo much! Though I do have some crochet experience I'm mostly a knitter. But a number of years before she died, my mother gave me a pair of unfinished crochet leg-warmers (she didn't have time to finish them) with a ribbed stitching on both of the upper cuffs and ribbing that had been started on one of the lower cuffs. She asked me if I'd like to finish them, so I told her I'd try but I couldn't figure out how to get the rib right, and had no pattern, so I put them aside. I stumbled across them in my stash today. I then watched a couple of videos on how to do the stitch, but yours actually showed me how to crochet it in, rather than sew it on after crocheting the piece separately! I'm now going to be able to finish them, and will think of my mom of course, but will also think gratefully think of you and your wonderful demonstration on how I could finish it. :)

I can't say enough about how to the point and clear your tutorial was and how pleasant you are. I am stumbling on you but I am a new subscriber and can't wait to see what else you have!
