UPDATE:: I found the problem, did you know that the limitless motor plate is NOT the same motor plate that comes in the Felony/Infraction. My next video will include that content in person and much much more. As of right now, the SkyRider is 99.99% ready for its FIRST maiden run! Fingers crossed we get to test drive on the next video coming shortly?😎😎😎
The speed gear in the felony was a 27 to 46 spur. It's a 17 stock pinion. I've done a fire team the went 36p to 34s. She will shut off after one run. Trim the lid with your Dremel.
@@toysforboysrc look forward to it. Spent last month working on 3 speed builds. Fireteam hit 77.1 yesterday on hoons, and felony hit 77.2. windy, and fireteam is so wide and heavy, it wants to be a frisbee at speed where the felony is an arrow. The fireteam is cutting at just past half throttle, when I get impatient, and just try to give it all before I'm moving fast enough. Took 10 teeth out of gearing, and still 9 teeth over felony with a 3.7 lbs disadvantage, and extreme wide stance. Doing all on stock electronics. On top gearing, it should do 150, if I have a long enough runway, and don't amp out by yanking trigger before she's ready.
@@reallythough4591 …. Sounds like you’re totally invested in speed running at an early start, that’s the kind of ambition required to achieve big things🤘.. I know the Felony can and will do 150mph, just not with stock electronics. I’ve only ever seen 90mph and 100mph on a down hill road and with massive high capacity Lipo with the stock electronics. I bent my stock shafts with the stock setup and gearing, yet I’ve seen others reach 90mph with stock center shafts so it’s like rolling dice. If you’re goal is 150 mph, the easiest and most practical way to get there is the mamba x8s and the 1717/1650 motor. That’s my current setup in my Felony.. 27 pin-46 spur which really is under geared, I mostly drift with it AND it will still do 95mph back to back 4 times before things only begin to get warm. A last note.. about the stock bearings, if you degrees them all in alcohol and lube with Zero Friction bearing oil, you could get another 5-10 mph with the stock setup.
@@toysforboysrc I appreciate it, but my goal is running down the felony with my sleeper fire team. I have a max5 to throw in, but want to see how far I get with the spectrum first. I'm pushing 47, and just got into rc 4 years ago. My buddy got me the dr10 for Xmas, as a gag. He got the slash and his cousin the Losi. He wouldn't stop trash talking about how ill never be faster, so my sleeper fire team came to life. The dr10 is now the fastest of all, if I can keep it on the ground. Over 80 on 2s, and I can run up to 7s. I just converted my slash 4x4 to 6s with a 2200 castle and mamba monster, so it's more about the driving and weight at the moment. I've got the speed, but my wallet goes thru my mind when I get going fast, or the car leaves the ground. Also, I'm not imbued with much patience, so trigger pull needs more practice. I get the first run down no problem, but tend to mash the throttle as it passes me. All 4 wheels rip free, and it floats. When I try to run it back, ESC cuts out to save itself. So far, I've managed just over half throttle, and 77.1 yesterday. I've swapped the entire drive line for that of the felony, but replaced center diff with a spool. I've swapped to a Ford lightning body for aerodynamics, as stock fireteam was catching all sorts of deflections from the wind. If I can just relax, and get a long enough runway, I think I can do the 150 mph area on stock ESC, but I only get one shot. Gonna keep trying. Seems a worthy waste of my free time to do what everyone is saying can't be done.
Awesome vid and thankyou for hosting this build and the Power hobby spur gear for I'm looking into a 43 9r 42 over my MonsterRc Delrin 46 upgrade kit from 2019 which is awesome but they don't last forever unfortunately so seeing this was awesome inspiring for visual fitment for use but going on my custom carbon 1/8 Ofna Gtp2e/DM1 hybrid mix but either way love this vid RC4Lfe
That sounds interesting.., I’m actually going 8s on the next upload so we will see how long these Power Hobby gears last. I’ve seen photos of Mod1 spur gears worn down to the point the teeth were all bent to one direction and looked like melted chocolate just from the power transfer 😯.. idk the brand it was or what it took to do that but I have plenty faith for a 100mph drag with PH. Should be better than off brand eBay gears which can be slightly off center but well worth the 💰for bashing. That’s right RC4Life, been in this game since RC Pro-AM
@@DavidJohnson-rb2wi … thanks, I don’t recall anymore what was the situation back then but I figured out that the motor plate for the limitless is didn’t different from the felony motor plate. So it explains why my predicted ratio didn’t fit. So I bought the felony plate and I was able to gear the TP4070cm for 100mph bcs it’s not meant to be drifted or bashed but I’ve been doing so just fine with the ratio explained in the video…. Hm hey it’s actually time for a recap of the skyline followed by a remake or another body. Just sooooo many body options.
Thank you that means a lot., I have a 45min video coming out this week on the final steps for the skyline build. Spoiler alert: nothing blew up🤘 Thanks for subbing🙏🫵
Watch the following videos posted after this one.. the limitless and the Felony use two different size motor plates for running different size pinions. This information is not found easily at the time of this video. Therefore I made a very in depth video with product links and upclose comparison. It’s the 45min special video, it’s a good vid.
… uh man my bad idk BUT… I DID share the product links in almost every video. I tried to not leave anything out but I’ve bought from some eBay brand stuff, I bought castle and I’ve bought MOSTLY from omg I can’t remember 😣 but it’s a very common source for spurs as they are basically over sized pinions. Btw… the issue in this video was that the LIMITLESS uses a different size motor plate than the FELONY!!!….. sooo….. I had to buy the Felony motor plate and it let me use the two gears in the video. I made a following video that went into GREAT details on this and MANY other parts that were installed in that same video. It’s the 45min special video. One of my personal favorite videos I ever made. EDIT: SAGA GEARS!

Same. Its the 40 series motor plate gets it closer of your motor is skinny enough. 25mm motor bolt spread though
Grind out that cover cap to clear. Use spacers to raise that long support.
I eventually caught up to that in the build series for the skyline build but you’re right.

New 45 min video coming out this week with a month’s worth of work.

I’ll check it out!

Go with a 24t pinion or a 25t it'll work bro👍👍
