Thanks for this, I just got my infraction and I was curious to look at how you change the pinion and damn they made it easy to change it compared to other RC cars.
what was your top speed on it? and do you have stock electronics?? asking i Just got a used infraction. and my first speed runs where like 2 hrs ago. i hit 62mph on it. I will need to get new tires on it.
So how are you supposed to change the pinion gear if the 2 top screws DO NOT want to move without drilling from out and screwing up the screws themselves?
You want to be able to move the pinion a small amount before it makes contact with the teeth of the spur. An easy way to set it if you don't trust yourself to do it just by feel, is to cut a thick piece of paper narrow enough to be able to put it between the pinion and spur, slide the motor to squeeze the paper between the pinion and spur, once the mesh is set with the paper in between the 2 gears, tighten the motor mount screws, slide out the piece of paper. If you can pull the paper out without tearing it and the paper comes out looking pleated, you should be good to go. I hope that helps, if not feel free to let me know or ask me any other questions you may have.

@@mataflais I got 82mph on the 27t pinion and stock electronics but esc was cutting out. I now have a xlx2😃
@@All-rc804 over 80mph impressive. And with the xlx2 is giving you more speed? Or same but not cutting off? Did u also change the motor?
You mention if the motor is too tight. How do you know if you have those gears too tight (too close)?
Do you push the motor all the way in?
I can't get the screws out! 😢
Crazy these gears aren't greased? Must be a reason? Great vid just swaping my pin over now with your help :)))
dust wil stick to the gears making a grinding paste
You completely skipped the entire part of lining up the mesh on the gears man!

Use a torx screw
i had to drill it out lmao
How you know if the mesh is not to tight?
